Can't believe it, l've done it. Watched your video a few times and decided maybe i could do that. Now I must explain that i have never done anything on a car apart from cleaning and polishing. So i got the part which then sat in the hall for a couple of weeks but today was the day. I followed your video and I am amazed i got it done, thank you so very much for this. I feel like I shouldn't say this but I found one issue which is not covered in the presentation. Around the locking mechanism i had a cover which was a bit of a pain to get the panel past. This can be removed by clicking in a couple of restraining lugs and pulling off. Apart from this it all went smoothly, Thank you sir and keep these coming 👍

just followed exactly what the guy said on the video. ordered the part through Amazon prime so got it next day. all fixed and took me about 40 mins. Absolutely useless at this sort of stuff but video makes it clear and easy to understand and just followed it through. thanks!

Thank you so much, I just bought an insignia last weekend from a dealership and when I got home I realised the boot didn't open probably why it was parked with its boot right up to a wall, but thanks to this easy to follow step-by-step instruction video I was able to to buy the part off eBay and fit it in about 20-minutes with following this video as I went, really happy now that I have a massive boot that I probably could fit my old Citroen C2 inside. Thanks German Guy. Just used guide this to replace the tailgate switch on my Insignia. Very straightforward. I owe you a beer !! Word of caution to anyone else replacing their switch. There are 2 types of switch depending on the year/model of your Insignia a) GM part number 13422268 - with a socket on the end of the switch leads (like in this video) b) GM part number 13393912 - has a bullet connector on the end of each switch lead Check which one you need before ordering.

Thank you. I just replaced mine. It last 11 years which is not bad. I couldn’t get the two nuts at the widest points of the chrome bar. The rubber cover did not protect them from moisture (perhaps it was never meant to) and they were fused by rust. Thankfully there was enough give with everything else to extract the old switch and fit the new one. Delighted to have an openable boot again.

This guy saved my bacon again - managed to replace before it had completely broken, but £9.99 for a part on amazon with prime next day delivery 🥳

Spent £30 for switch direct from vauxhall and followed your excellent video. Saved me about £100. Took about 40 mins. Would have been quicker if I had a wrench but used pliers and getting the last bolt in when putting back together was tricky. Thanks

I had this problem Friday 30th june, went down to dealers and was told it was a 1-2 hour job, the part was £55 + vat, along with either £99 or £198 + vat labour depending if it took 1 or 2 hours lol . thought I would buy the part and do the job myself, ordered part from ebay ( original Vauxhall part brand new ) £17.99. I watched your video then went to do the job, start to finish no more than 15 mins. Thank you very much, EXCELLENT video

Cheers mate, I bought a switch for £20.00 on ebay and replaced it in about 15 minutes, I had been quoted £150.00 plus parts by a local garage.

All was as explained by ThatGermanGuy. Small problems with removal of lining, but not significant. All works fine. Thank You ThatGermanGuy! The same time my sons were rebooting my car from winter to summer wheels (just replacement of wheels). Repair of the switch took two times less time.
