This is from the 10/31/80 show at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. I know, because I was in Boston, at the Orpheum Theater watching a Closed Circuit broadcast with about 1500 other raving lunatics on Halloween night. There was even a costume contest during the intermission. LOL. Bob Weir is the vocalist on this song, he and Jerry mostly switch off, with Brent Mydland, on Keyboards, and even more rarely Bassist Phil Lesh taking lead vocal duties. "Feel Like A Stranger" always got a great response from the audience because it was so funky, saw some great dance moves during this song, and I even busted out a few myself.
Love to see people discovering the music that has literally guided me through most of my adult life. This music has the ability to change your life if you let it. Welcome to the family my friend ❤. Be cautious of those who are just pretending however. Always be KIND to one another ❤ ☮ (~);} "Nothing left to do but SMILE SMILE SMILE. Great video!
BOB WEIR is the second guitarist rhythm guitar who was singing. He and Jerry Garcia switch up lead vocals / guitar depending on the song and as far as the drums learning fhe songs the grateful dead actually don't rehearse they dont even know what songs they will play they just let it happen and then actually later on they would play somgs live for a year or more before even doong it in the studio. Very cool. They also allowed people to tape record there shows from day 1 which is why we have all the music. Its amazing. ☮ (~);} ❤
here is a you tube link to one of the best ballads Jerry ever played - and played only a handful of times - "Believe It Or Not" - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PYrdDVK4_9U.htmlsi=WYQR3uDkfAIxNRm_
What was incredible ... the next time the Dead did this song it had a different taste to it. The band played many different versions of most of their songs.
