When they're looking in mirrors their real image is reflected but they think of their inner self as a younger version. The dance is special, and they rehearse it all throughout because they did it together when they were young. Her calander stopped when they were young, and he is helping her do the the stuff they used to do. Like dancing on the same stage from the past. Even as they're in the phonebooth talking, they might be too old to use the landline at home and it might be difficult to use smartphones? The boat scene could be from a past date. They say that dementia patients remember music best and those memories remain the longest. At the end he is still with her even as she is not doing well. Her mind is stuck in the past. "People say that a couple is one in heart and if someone's calendar is in the past the rest go there too" Hence the "I stay where your calander stopped" at the end of the song. So its like a "we will always be together" to the fullest degree TT This song always makes me cry. And the older couple in the back resembling them is just ughhh and the actors had such great chemistry...
