This is so DOPE!!! I love the representation for the creatives in entrepreneurship!! Much love to these brothers for sharing this information in a space where it’s not common to educate others. Congratulations on the success and continued blessings!!
Dope interview, wish they would actually tell how they learned to make clothes I understand the older brother going to college for the business part, extremely impressive hopefully I can meet these guys one day
I Am Glad I am starting off The New Year By Listening to these Guys #TULONES is on Point many ,many Gems in this Interview. I Wish Everyone A Happy and PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR. #2023istheyearforuandme
As a Supply Chain professional with a background in analytics, I loved this interview. They have a strategy that can’t miss. Amazing content, David. Never heard of the brand, but will definitely go support just off their passion alone. This was inspiring, True Kings!
It was more the marketing behind it and the people who wore the brand. A lot of skate/urban brands slap their logos on all kinds of shit. The hypebeast era and tumblr helped propel them up. That and them going down the exclusive/collectable route and limited all their shit and marking prices up.
Japan also elevated Supreme, once they went to Japan it was over for anyone in competition from the US, Tumblr and Hypbeast ERA just turned the world upside down and Supreme became an international powerhouse. I have a streetwear magazine where u can buy clothes from, made in the 90s prior to Japan. The supreme shirts are only $18-$30 max.
This is a good video, I want to use this say something, I will forever be indebted to you Gardner 😇you’ve changed my whole life I’ll continue to preach about your name for the world to hear you’ve saved me from a huge financial debt with just little investment thanks so much Mrs Rose Gardner
_I invest with mrs Rose Gardner too, she charge a 15%commission on profit made after every trading session which is fair compare to the effort she put in to make huge profit…
with the consistent weekly profits I’m getting investing with Mrs Rose Gardner there’s no doubt ...she is the most reliable in the market. such a genius
I'm a designer in clothing designer Detroit and I thought i wasnt going to learn anything from this video, so many clothing brand owners get online and spew garbage, but this taught me a lot and confirmed a lot. I don't have the capital to produce a whole catalog a year in advance but I do at least 3 months (a whole season) in advance.
I met Expert Charlotte last year for the first time at a conference in New York City, I invested €24,000 and traded in one month making close to €190,000...
One of the best youtube clothing business videos I have had the pleasure of listening to. Gonna let the lessons sink in then watch again with a pen and paper. Gems
They sound crazy .... when I was in Texas in 90.91..94.95 I was the only 1 I seen with timberlands The south wasn't rocking like nyc like that .... they wore dickies n flannel jackets n sports jerseys lol...shot out to the south my mama from Alabama pops from VA fam from Mississippi.... but they capping like crazy differentiating regional fashion!!!
I found myself wanting to hear what Damian had to say HOPING Chris (Benji) didn’t cut him off. It’s almost like Damian could rarely finish a complete thought. Balance on the mic is so important. Let each other speak.
David I really love your podcast. You have such great guest on your show. I really liked these two. I never heard of them before. I find myself laughing during your interviews(in a good way) because of the fifty-leven questions you ask because I'm the same exact way. Stuff has got to make sense to me before I move on.😁👏🏽 Thanks for always asking the questions viewers need to know/getting to the nitty-gritty 💪🏽😊 and being honest when you don't know something...
S/O you for having them on here, every entrepreneur should tap in for this interview they are showing us anything is possible with the right team and consistency. And we are from the same city. MOBILE STAND UP!! I will be next up David mark my words. #INDUETIME
They should of stayed out of sight !! 😮 .. The brand was more what is this !! Who is !! It was just more mysterious 😮 !! Great clothes affordable !! Amazing !! An they black I’m buying there stuff like I do supreme and Nike !! I’m supporting my people !!
Dope interview. Lol, NYC is a melting pot. It is a misconception that Timbs is a NY thing. It was just show because hip-hop was NY. NYers wear all the Jordan's and uptowns(airforces) more than timbs
That part still stuck in my head too.... Not going to lie. We do everything from Uptowns, to Timbs to NB to RO... So many people packed into a small space we always looking for the next drip turning brands no one heard of into the next big thing but I'll give them a pass
So I’m the only one that think they didn’t answer any question clearly? Out of all the episodes I’ve watched every answer didn’t make sense to any question David asked
I remember going to this post office in the cut and EVERY single time Tulones packages were stacked to the ceiling. I finally asked the postal worker what is this and he was like it’s a clothing brand and they are here everyday 😳😳 and ever since then I’ve seen their brand everywhere.
I saw this guy on the left, with the Black frames on a Miko WORLDWIDE video, Yelling and Screaming at a parking attendant at a High end restaurant in Atlanta, because somebody stole something out his truck! Dead ass!! 😂 He was GOING OFF 😂
These brothers are phenomenal! They really understand economics of community. They got a standard they stick too. I mean to hand right labels just blows my mind. This is an example of reaping the harvest. They just planted the seed and waited for the growth. Sharing this episode with my kids.
This was THEE GREATEST VIDEO to date. I’m from Alabama and their voices gave me “fish fry after graduation l” vibes. They gave actionable gems and seem like honest brother love kinda guys. (I’m writing while watching still) glad you found them.
Dave: Y'all don't do any coaching or courses..? Chris: No. We coach our friends for free... Dave: Let's create a course together... and I think y'all will make the same money without having to do inventory! Chris and Damon: Let's do it Dave: Congratulations, y'all my new business partners! Fast forward five years later...So we moved our headquarters to Dubai after our online course 100x'd our business!!! Dave, I see you sir! Wisdom has spoken. I thouroughly enjoyed all the meat on this plate! My question to you is, Can I get in on THIS deal? 😉I pray y'all see this all the way through. They won't have to sell to anyone then, because they will have built an empire they can pass down to their children.
Best interview on this channel! These brothers are very knowledgeable and not just chasing the bag. Real business minded ❤ , they got systems in play and creating versus copying 👏🏾 Real Business
I agree with mostly everything Bt don’t forget you copy there way of doing things it creates saturation in the market. So what works for them & there brand might not go for you & yours
Honestly Love the interview but numbers so hard to follow 🤷🏻 Starting a brand with 90k and 12items, first million made in the basement online only but not all items on the website. Invested another $25k so we need to make 1/4mil?? Love the work though keep it boys.
WOW!!!!!!!!! the first 2:35 these bruddhas!! DROPING SOME NEW knowledge I've NEVER heard before, and I'm LISTENING because it's TRIED and TESTED and BACKED With the numbers!!
This episode was so affirming for my because for the past few years I've thought about all these things meticulously and been documenting them so that when my time comes I'm ready
The more I listen to this episode the more frustrating it is. Your talking about branding, high quality etc but everything your doing is the exact opposite - your a fast fashion merch producer. Totally nothing wrong with that it clearly is working for you but it’s important the listeners understand the difference. Tech packs, moulds, breakeven points etc standard stuff for all manufacturing doesn’t make anyone unique. We never sell out” - plenty of stuff sold out on your website currently. Rushing to get product available to the consumer again is fast fashion 101. The true branding approach would not consider the demand of the consumer they care first and foremost about consistency of the brand story through the garment, the content making sure it all fits right . There’s no right or wrong both different effective approaches to the fashion game. Just a few statements that give the wrong impression. “Your 2months ahead” any established brand works 6months ahead. Sampling and quality control can take 3 months alone before production and shipping. And given then amount of product you have it would take you guys way longer. Don’t matter who you are if your not literally manufacturing under your own roof, every brand goes through this. Of course unless your all about quick turn around which again is the definition of fast fashion merchandisers. Please believe if the numbers are correct nothing but mad respect for what you’ve achieved in such a short time but it’s not branding. Aime Leon Dore, Kith, Cole Buxton even the old classics Gucci, Prada etc that’s a lesson in branding and consistency of message and quality.
I have a double Masters in business, one of my degrees is a MBA and this was a Masters level course in business. Stuff I never heard nor been taught before. 🔥🔥💯💖💖
I really enjoyed this interview. As someone who designs and sew my own swimwear I can surely see where they are coming from. It is important to know all the details of your product. Some people think it’s about just going to a manufacturer and think they will get what they want. Nah, for my swimwear I needed to know the gsm of the fabric, what type of stretch the fabric has( stretch retention) is the fabric chlorine and salt water resistant, what type on elastic. For sewing what type of thread, needles, what is the best stitch and which stitch takes less thread. The list goes on. Everything is technical. One thing I’ve learnt here was break even for each item. Here in the Caribbean where I’m from, when I did my business plan. I was taught breakeven but not on each item. This is something I will look into. One day I will have a team because, right now I’m the one doing every single thing and it’s not easy as simple as a swimsuit looks. Found your RU-vid on Saturday and this was the first video I saw. I will surely be listening to your other videos.
I enjoyed the breakdown and much more success on the brand and other endeavors! My takeaways understanding the business inside out And knowing with smart work and consistency you can grow and scale!
I think if you’re into black street wear, you pretty much wear the same thing. I don’t think its more or less where you’re from, but what you’re in to. You can tell dude with the Blue Jays hat is more of the brains and the other dude is more of a spokesman. They make a good team!
I was watching a basketball game on my phone, and when I came back somehow this interview was on so I just watched it as I edit a video. If I got financial ghost in my house I just want to say thank you😁
I have to comment again this is by far The best biz gems i have ever heard and i dont feel bad about my work habits, ethics anymore "Even when Im eating lunch!" Love it!
Yo Dave or Dave’s team… idk who’s editing these videos but you’re being lazy when it’s quite simple they’re giving you visual directions within their dialogue. Make the proper cuts. He mentioned the sweat pants and cuff that was a shot to be displayed. Frame the person when they’re speaking show them. Insert 70 transparency few seconds.. “watermarked” links while also putting in in the description details. Etc etc constructive criticism no hate love the podcast. Oh hire a sound guy sometimes the audio sounds weird for those that listen out of high quality sound devices.
This was amazing! Blew my mind over and over! Never seen such passionate, knowledgeable dudes in the apparel business! 👌🏾👌🏾 One of the best episodes I’ve watched.
I agree with them i feel like layne knew what he wanted to do but felt necessary to use a cheat code “larger brands” to boost his own brand faster but fucked himself signing contracts and giving away creative control. A partnership is better than employmentship.
