For the bar sliding and flipping when you put the weights on - all you need to do it reverse the bar on the rack. Flip it downward while you load the weight then flip it back up when you're going to lift.
That was my question, too. Without owning any of these, I am actually surprised it didn’t flip down on its own rather than slide off. That said, if there weren’t a workaround for the slide, that would be a dealbreaker for me.
@@illestdomer2005 I was thinking this too, but the angle of the bar where it sits might make it awkward or even dangerous to rotate a full 180 degrees with weight. It may be enough to angle the top curve 90 degrees away from the rack for loading.
Solid take. I have a Titan review that also includes Does it Suck... pretty funny that's where our minds tend to go with them. Haven't used it but based off what I've heard, I think this is likely a good option for someone who wants to get in on it. The other bars are far nicer, but much more pricey. Chances are a person would not use this as much as a regular bar so doesn't make sense to drop big bucks IMO.
Haha that's the question I get and you probably do to. "Coop, does this suck as much as x?" Thankfully, this one doesn't suck. Was pleasantly suprised and I'll actually throw it in a bit because it does feel different from the Duffalo due to the larger arc.
@@Pler1978 That's a long winded blowhard response for someone who doesn't care, but maybe you should work on basic grammar before you try acting like some keyboard hero...
I returned this bar. I really didn't like the dicy loading (in a T-6 rack)... Also it wasn't as comfortable as I'd think it would be... maybe it's the more aggressive curve than the dufflo. I really didn't like the extremely light knurling and my finish was faulty. Just know that if it doesn't come right, Titan will take it back. Keep your box till you're sure about it. In general, I'm happy with my titan equipment.
Old comment I know, but there's one of these at my gym and the knurles aren't in the center of the bar and the finger guides aren't centered either. Pretty sure the whole bar was bent wonky right out of the box. It's been there for a long time, the guy who bought it probably forgot about it lol
Been using this bar consistently for about a year now and I love it. Honestly I have many Rogue bars and this bar feels same quality if not better.. also, I don’t know how Coop got his bar to tip I’ve used this bar on all my racks and have literally never had that issue. This bar is great for squats it’s a lot more comfortable but its also great for bench.. if you want to make your bench sky rocket use this and I promise your bench will go up.
Do you use a wide grip or more of a shoulder width grip on this bar. I used it at my gym and liked how i had to lower it deeper to touch it to my chest. I thought it was a good thing until someone told me it's really bad for your shoulders to go that far down
I just got this bar in. Tried loading plates on using by Ghost 2.0 roller j-cups and the whole bar slid to the opposite side SMH BUT using my standard EliteFTS flat metal j-cups no problems!! Going to test squatting tomorrow. BTW had 870lbs loaded on it to see if it bends, it didn’t 💪🏽💪🏽
Bought this bar last month when it came out. Haven’t had any issues with it flipping. Used solely on Atlantis Poliquin rack and Rogue squat stand. That flip looks scary for sure.
I have that bar and being that the inside curve right to the inside collar is flat that when I racked the bar the inside of the J-hook which was lined with a hard plastic chipped I guess because the bar hit hard on an angle The rack is from a company called ForceUSA MyRack which I love! The base rack was $399 before the pandemic but now I believe it’s up to $599 as just a base rack but you can customize it with numerous add ones! I highly recommend it!
A few things I must say. I purchased this bar they day it dropped on ebay. It was on ebay before it was on Titan's site which I found odd. First of all I have a Titan T3 rack w/sandwich J-cups and didn't have the sliding issue that you had loading the bar. That's a good thing and unfortunately the last good thing I can think of. The knurl is almost nothing. Worthless. It behaves like a cambered bar by pulling you forward. I think this is important because a lot of people are buying this because they have shoulder injuries and still want to low bar squat. This does NOT replicate a low bar squat. If you already have a cambered bar or yoke there's no need to purchase this. The first bar they sent me was bent incorrectly. The sleeves are supposed to point slightly upward at the ends and mine only did on one side. The other side pointed down. It was visible to the naked eye and proven with a level in a perfectly level rack. I always have good luck with thier customer service and this was no different. I was given an RA number the the fedex guy picked it up the next day. Three days later I had my replacement bar. Not bad, Titan. This one was slightly better. It at least looked correct to the naked eye and the level was close enough for government work. It was only a degree or two off at the most. Nothing to complain about. But what I did notice is a huge amount of play in one of the sleeves. Upon closer inspection I could see that the brass bushing was different on that side. The center opening was much, much larger in that side's sleeve. I thought this was an odd screw up. Why would they even have a bushing that large to begin with? Then I figured it out! The 2nd bar was also bent incorrectly and using the correct bushing would have caused the sleeve to bind on the bar and not rotate. Sneaky bastards. They purposely sent me a 2nd bar knowing it was incorrect. I then decided to return that bar and get a refund. Which to their credit they did promptly. So buyer beware. This is still Titan and still subject to Titan quality standards.
Good review!Great price! Hate when price is not given in reviews. But this has to be a no go! Bar flips are NOT GOOD! Removing plates could be even more problematic!
Thanks for the review definitely going to wait for the version 2.0 if loading/unloadinf is an issue. Dang the bar catapult is just too dangerous for my liking.
Don't put too much stock in this, because it may not happen to you if your rack is slightly different. The other option is to have 2 people load the plates at the same time, yea that's right, "2 people at the same time" lol
I have a noob comment: At the end of this video it looks like you’re doing some strict press with the bar. Is that something that you can also do with this bar? I know that’s probably a dumb question I’ve just never seen anybody press with one of these. To me I think I would prefer it over a straight bar just because of shoulder mobility. Thanks as always.
I would guess the rounding of the bar would allow you to go a little lower than a straight bar. It would probably be a little easier on your wrist too. Only way to find out is to try. Some strongmen press with a trap bar, so break the standard and give it a try.
I would argue your point coop that what you do is just push it to one side and it works that way.....over time sawing the bar sideways it is going to cut a valley in your UHMW in your j-hooks and then you will have to replace those
So is this bar about helping with flexibility issues when squatting or is there more to it? I've been waiting for a decent safety squat bar for this reason but hadn't considered this bar. I have issues getting my inside my rack on the bar and keep working on that. Is one preferred over the other?
That's just how it is being a garage gym owner. I sometimes stare at the back of my eye lids at night, causing me loss of sleep, thinking on what I should purchase next lol oh the struggle is real
Now I am a fan of titan most my garage has their products and I would enjoy having a bowed bar added to my training bit thats a major safety hazard. That's gonna be a hard No.
The fact that such a fundamental flaw of the bar catapulting off the rack with just 45lbs on the bar, that means there has been pretty much zero thought and care gone into the product.
I am looking to purchase this bar, after already owning the Bison bar, which i like, but hate the fact that it swivels so much causing me to feel like a life sized bobble head when I squat. I wish i had saw this video before I bought it lol. I hate the Yukon price though, but most likely we're paying for the increase in weight this bar can hold as well as the paint and longer shafts. Thanks for the review. Just subbed your channel. Check out my Garage gym page, just made all sorts of changes and upgrades and will be doing a new garage gym tour soon, as well as a compare and contrast review of both the Bison and this Yukon bar (once I purchase)
Coop you rock thanks for the review, and for updating the price after I imagine you already edited. Also I do work out w kids in the room you potentially saved someone from getting knocked. Good man. I will have to reconsider buying this bar now. Safety yikes.
Hey David, when you look at a car, do you say, it's just a car, why does it matter? If so, then details aren't that important to you. Which is okay, but to me they are and that's why I talk about those things.
