All I am getting from this whole drama is that Justin was too nice and accomodating for his own good because BL definitely took FULLL advantage it. So sad, I hope it wont change him as a person but rather be smarter with people he works with.
Sounds like BL brought RR and all her buddies and took over everything. I'm gonna need a Director's Cut because its the only cut/edit that I will watch.
I truly think, as a sassy-cat feminist myself, that he was trying to go above and beyond in centering the women of the film; making sure it was safe, healthy (as it could be), and communicative with the “female experience” (I do hate that term, lol) as opposed to the male gaze, something we’re familiar with and critical of. BL came in like a steamroller and took advantage of his allyship to DV/IPV women survivors. She’s a narcissist and dangerous to the mental health of vulnerable people she worked with. She pitted the *entire* cast against Justin. If you’ve been on the receiving end of a true clinical narcissist, especially with her amount of social and financial capital, they could destroy a life in under 48 hours, given the right social environment. Kapitalism Kween. Not diagnosing her, but she has shown to check nearly every box of the classification of traits.
I guess, it's because of people like Ryan and Blake, why there are directors that are very strict and dominant, so that the "star" won't try to take control of the movie. I mean we've heard so many times that an actor or director resigned from a project because of, what do they call it? Creative differences? I actually hate it when the star tries to be the writer and director, unless they had it in the contract that they can do so. Otherwise, just do your job and let others do theirs. 😮💨
@@Phd366 usually everything is He’s idea thats why is sucking. Too much irony humor like the interviews he did to her co star and his mother and also the photo laughing with Kate Middleton
Probably because he's a great name in Hollywood and he's much more liked by people than his wife so they may turn a blind eye to that... And it is pretty upsetting
Ryan worked a whole year to promote DP and Blake just mucked everything up single handedly. If she wanted a Barbie RomCom she had the system around her to create it.
@@elcie04 uhhh 😬 no. These people are very privileged and even if Justin wasn’t a good director, he bought the rights. They should’ve renegotiated rather than backstabbing and ghosting him. Instead TL tried to smear him by saying he fat shamed her and kissed her too long: Something reeks and they should just come out with it. They aren’t above the laws for these things. I would’ve hired Johnny Depp’s PR firm if I was a Justin being accused of bs that cannot be proven or confirmed. It’s her fault until proven otherwise.
i think she was just needing to brag so much, she didn't think about the consequences of what they did especially during the writers strike. We've seen many powerhouse actors go down and i hope these two are not exempt from the consequences of their actions.
She brags a lot! Thats what gives me the ick with every interview. She brags about everything. I dunno, she should of watched what Margo Robbie did in her interviews and maybe got some media training.
@@kacanghijau166 I just watched an interview Julia Roberts gave during the promotion for Sleeping with the Enemy. Blake would have done herself a service watching and observing how ppl with compassion, intelligence and professionalism give an interview about domestic violence. It was so heartfelt and humble. Julia deferred to those who went thru it. It was beautiful. And she was much younger than Blake at the time.
The more I hear about the making of this film, the more sorry I feel for Justin Boldini. It was his project that he bought the rights to and an arrogant actress and her boyfriend took it over in the most disrespectful way imaginable. I hope this doesn’t negatively affect his career, although I do hope it negatively affects Lively’s and Reynolds’s.
Her husband did not write that rooftop scene. He made changes to it but it's stealing credit from the real writer. Christy Hall wrote that scene. Shame on him and Blake for stealing credit from another artist. Ryan Reynolds "added dialogue".
Reynolds wrote it. The script writer has discussed his participation in interviews. Why would you write false information?? And spell ‘write ’ wrong, lol
@@ecampbell5837exactly, he “participated“ in re-writing some of the scene. No ones writing false information. why are you being so mean? Typos happen. Get over yourself.
@ecampbell5837 Christy Hall, the screen writer literally says Ryan did not do any writing on it. That It was the scene she wrote aside from a few words. 😂
I'm so done with Blake & Ryan at this point. Neither one of them can act (Ryan plays himself in all of his movies), but they both like to bulldoze over everyone because they have the money and nepotism to do it. 🤮
i've been thinking that it is so strange that blake has said "i work on all my husbands projects and he works on mine. so a win for either of us, is a win for both"? it's great you support one another and celebrate wins together. but do you have to be involved in the work to celebrate that? like, why is ryan re-writing and editing scenes on a movie he wasn't hired for? can you imagine getting a job, and telling your new boss, my husband is coming along too. we're a package deal.
I know it’s a high bar to surpass, but I truly believe they both share the same narcissistic traits (not diagnosing, but they seem like the type to be completely detached from a shared reality of the average human being).
"Uh... what? Is he looking for a job here as well? He'll need to interview--" "No, no, he's not looking for employment, he'll just do some work. :)" "What do you mean?" "He might light some candles to make things a bit cozier for the customers, maybe some cushions too." "I don't think--" "He can also make some additions to the menu and cook his special sauce :)" "Ma'am... this is a Wendy's."
Omg this 😮 the fact that her PR was trying to pull those strings and very late realized she had fkd it all up... her PR team should be fired honestly. This is not the first time it seems like her career is not being well handled. A good PR team would have put her on her place, tell her "you need to promote this movie together, and forget about the flowers, this is about your entire reputation". Risking it all, even getting fired. I hope they quit. Nobody deserves to work for an entitled person.
Both of them should get called out for their toxic and controlling behavior. I agree with you about Taylor Swift. She comes across as petty and greedy!
@@ammyrobinson9171please do a deep dive into her manufactured success. Her image is highly structured and curtated much like Ryan’s and Blake’s. All of them are fake AF!
Okay, so the people who worked on the set are saying Justin did most of the directing and Blake acted like she didn't even want to be there and was focused on clothes and herself and pushing people around and trying to dominate people when she was there. She did her best to not even be on set and now she is trying to push Justin out and take credit for everything.
More like an ego thing. I'm Ryan Reynolds! Behold my person and rejoice my willingness to get involved in this smaller project. And also a PR thing. Look internet, Blale and I are being a cute couple again. But kt backfired.
Totally agree maybe he felt threatened by Justin. He might be inexperienced as a director but easy on the eyes and his emotional intelligence is off the charts!
Damn I loved Ryan 2 weeks ago- now I have a strong dislike for him.. Blake - of course she’s done in my eyes. That behavior is unacceptable for a mother & a wife- Shame on her
@@ecampbell5837 I think maybe they're saying because Blake was using her and her husband's name and star power to get things done in an unprofessional way?
Somebody had commented on a YT video that said Hollywood is 2-3 bad movies away from realizing how important writers are and I 💯 agree cause we are at that movie now. Every single studio has each produced an absolute dumpster fire of a movie this year. How much money they lost?
That's why her PR team had to drop the whole "intimacy" issues, because she had talked about it before and she was recorded directing Justin. It made no sense.
Riding the success of Deadpool. She's trying to claim that some of the creativity from Deadpool is attributed to her. Seeing as her jokes fall so flat in person, I'm doubting that.
NOBODY Is talking about how Ryan was married to ScarJo, and cheated on her with Blake who knew he was married. ScarJo called him out and agreed. To do an exclusive interview with People magazine but Ryan and Blake threatened to sue People and they backed off. The cute-meet story they tell is BS
What about BL bro in-law saying on insta that “The real truth hasn’t come out yet!” Sus at best… RR may be culpable? Or they were really just that tone deaf and wanted to recreate BarbenHeimmer… And Taytay is now complicit as well. All scabs to me. Just cringe and so gross 🤢…
This is never going to be Oscar material ,but the fact these two have alienated alot of possible cinema goers ,will be the downfall as much as the lack of enthusiasm shown by Blake in this role.
Right, I've a theory, and only a THEORY. It's been said that Ryan is very jealous, so I wonder if Ryan was on set a few times here and there, and he was the one who thought "the kiss lingered too long", and so Blake tries to put that kiss length on Justin so to avoid conflict with her husband. Perhaps she generally then feels a need to be more anti-Justin to doubly assure Ryan that he's got nothing to worry about, an an over-compensation. (I did some similar things when I was trying to placate someone I was in a toxic, close friendship with) At least, that could be an ingredient in the whole thing, alongside the creative ego-struggle.
It’s interesting because this isn’t Justin’s first time directing. He directed some episodes of Jane The Virgin. He just showed respect towards Blake and didn’t want to create a hostile atmosphere. Unfortunately it appears that Blake took Justin’s humbleness into weakness and because she wants to brag about herself and her husband, she now has them both in deep water.
It’s amazing how this morphed into a Blake vs Justin thing to just a Blake vs backlash thing. But when you look at what’s been revealed, it doesn’t even seem like Justin was an antagonist. These are all poor decisions and actions by Blake’s team and maybe that’s why they are so indefensible. When her brother in law says the truth will come out, what truth? Not sure what context is needed to be a scab, opportunist, or what not. Unless he’s alluding to Ryan being the actual one influencing these decisions.
I'm confused as to how the director didn't know a scene was rewritten. He would have directed the scene and the script would have been in front of him. Later, he would be working with the editor to create the final cut of the film. Did someone else direct that scene? I know that Blake and Ryan hired their own editor to create an alternative cut of the movie, so did they insert their version of the scene into it? And how about the rest of the crew, the actors, the script supervisor? It sounds bizarre and a total mess. Also, what is it with Ryan Reynolds inserting himself into his wife's projects? She barely acts anymore, and even when she does he just can't seem to let her have the spotlight. I know she said she participates in his projects, but how? What decision making power does she have over his projects? So bizarre.
right? can you imagine getting hired for something, and then telling your new boss that your husband is hired as well, that you are a package deal? just weird.
There are a lot of people claiming not to know anything while being in charge. Yes, if the director was paying attention (doing his job) he would know that lines were changed. He would get another chance during the editing process. Imo, that was a lie.
No one can prove when the scene was written so I see this as a lot of unnecessary activity that will come to nothing. I also don't care if people on the project don't like each other. Everyone has worked with people the don't care for. Thus sounds like too many people trying to kill time and find something to be upset over. The movie is making money and is profitable. The marketing did not highlight DV and perhaps because it did not want to turn people off before they got to the theater. People do not line up to watch abuse.
I have read through many comments in defense of Blake Lively. But i feel like if we simplify the issue, it looks very distasteful more on her end. How did she manage to pull many strings on the movie? Did you start this project? Are you the director? Why do your besties’ clothes and music have to be in it? Simply why are you all over(from intimacy, music production, costume, screenplay)? I feel that even if you don’t like Baldoni, you could simply do the job and pick another project where it is yours. Colleen could prefer her over Justin anytime, sure. But just speaking on work ethics, its really odd. People talk shit about people who do shit like this in a normal job. Overstepping, taking credit, etc,. Her brother in law said that theres more to reveal(im guessing in justins part)? Didnt Sources on behalf of Blake speak already? Baldoni fatshaming Lively, baldoni hiring Depps PR agency and baldoni being overbearing , etc. people’s reaction are going to blow it out of proportion, for sure. And maybe there is more to come. But for me, aside from her interviews (current ones alone, not the past ones), its the overstepping of her role is what threw me off. I know it should be about the whole DV aspect, but ifeel that has been covered a lot already. But if baldonis ideas were not great, then let it flop. Its his baby, let it flop. Same way your husbands other films had. Same way that i even forgot some of the films she had done. Let this project flop, you dont have to take over. Make your own project. Buy the rights of another book. Then upsell your haircare line, your booze, adjust the character to you instead of the other way around, put your friends and husbands signature all over it, make yourself shine, what have you. Its all blake lively. I can’t even recall any of her costars name. For Barbie, i dont remember a single interview of margot robbie but the promo they did made sure a lot to shine a lot on the costars as well. She made a misstep thinking that everyone will love it simply because of who she is and her connections.
I can recall somebody on the set of Gossip Girl also said the same thing about Blake and Leighton ie they just have different personalities. The way I see it, their vision clash from day one, which is never good since it’s producer vs director and they are both the main casts. I can see why several casts sided with Blake because of the “business minded & practicality”. Not everyone’s there wants to make an art. But I can understand how frustrated it can be for Justin who not just wants to make an art but also using this medium to deliver a powerful message. It’s a shame.. Honestly, I don’t think they would ever come together if they weren’t handpicked by CH. Given the context of the story, I would want a Justin version.
This is Justin's baby from the start but Blake makes it all about herself 😂😂. Ryan Reynolds, hair products, alcohols, britney's dress and other fashion crap
You know what's funny? Blake with all of her money, could've pushed a company to write a Bratz movie and have her Deadpool-Bratz moment, but it seems like she doesn't even have ideas of her own. She just jumps on whatever else is doing and creates a mess to be the central point of it. I also hope the union does something about Ryan. That was a low blow, even for one single dialogue. Who would even want to work with someone who is not even attached to the project and has this much power over you.
“His wins are mine” 🙄 uh talk about narcissism. His wins had nothing to do with you. The problem is that a lot of celebrities who are investors or creators of a brand let is easily go to their head. Ryan has been having success with Deadpool and his investment because there is a massive team of professionals that run each company or team and he is the face. She is acting as if they are inventors and business people, if she was a business person she would have a successful one by now. Look at Jessica Alba. She has her company, been going at it for more than a decade and knows how to promote it. She is far too arrogant for her own good
Actually, he would be in trouble with WGA and could get his membership revoked. WGA doesn’t allow any writer to work (revising, writing) during a strike with a struck studio/company. WGA takes writers working during the strike seriously and he would have to face some repercussions. But because the timeline on when he worked on it is hazy, they couldn’t do anything without clarification.
If they just didn’t get along, they still would have posed for photos & done interviews together. It’s obvious that they hate each other, because they haven’t done any press or interviews together. I cannot blame Justin since Blake seems to have done so many things behind his back.
You also dont leak to press that theyre chauvinistic and fat shamed you. This goes well above normal workplace disagreements. They're backtracking now and want everyone to play nice because blakes mean girl behavior backfired
The iconic roof top scene? The line cripto bro? Noting iconic about the lines.. I can see how it was written by him. The only iconic thing was Justin's facial expressions
It is interesting how much women fan girl Taylor Swift - the Capitalist Queen is pretty good nickname for her. Sometimes her adult and even middle aged female fans remind me of teen girls fan girling over the coolest girl at school, just being in her proximity by spending your money on her means some of her glory and coolness rubs off on your
i notice when someone asked her a question about the movie she gets uncomfortable talking about it and changes the subject or deflects.. makes me wonder if she hiding something or is her relationship all good?
It always seems like she has nothing good or relevant to say about the movie. Like she had no interest in it other than featuring in a best-seller novel adaptation and promote her brands and her husband's.
7:37 omggg, I hadn’t seen this clip before! Imagine being THE screenwriter, talking about the scene that was most difficult to write and then having the star girly crediting her annoying husband for the entire thing. This is WILD.
Getting Blake Lively into the movie was a HUGE mistake. She is not even a good actress. If you have seen añl her movies you will notice she has one single face for all emotions. The space out look, like she just had a big bowl of mushrooms and she is super high. If she is sad it is the same spaced out face, just with tears. Angry, sale face, with crossed arms or hand on her waist. Happy or horny, the same look in the face, just biting the lip.....Blake "acting skills" worked only for Gossip Girl. But blake is not a good actress.....
On the other hand Baldoni shocked me. He captured the character extremedly well, including the darkness building in the eyes when he was about to snap.
I know you said you’re done with these two: But I think you are very correct about RR being in trouble! *Wrapping up the chat, the insider claimed, “They might come across as being sweet as apple pie, but make no mistake, anyone that tries to stand in their way is almost guaranteed to get steamrolled." 😤 both literally scabs.
I’ve always been a HUGE Ryan Reynolds fan and obviously liked Blake Lively by extension too. However this whole thing has definitely influenced my opinion about them both. I don’t like bullies no matter the circumstances. I read the book a few years ago and remember it pretty well because of the disturbing domestic violence.
Yeah, "if they want then they should produce and direct their own project". I'm curious if her quote about how they're a package with no professional boundaries will result in her not getting jobs (though it's starting to sound like she bought this role. Any actor, even a lead, who tried so hard to wrest control would either get replaced or get a rep as being hard to work with.). I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Reynolds doesn't see much impact from the "package deal" concept as much since he's usually the creative force at this point.
I mean Justin was called chauvinistic, accused of fate shaming, and sexual impropriety. Even if it started with simple create differences, it didnt end that way.
Keep talking about it! Most celeb stuff a bit silly, but this ‘marketing ´ campaign has been triggering for me. Posters everywhere, adverts on tv and if she had been thoughtful , kind and de-stigmatised the issue that would have been ok. Women die due to dv. I want a public apology - the posters with flowers? Her giggling and making jokes during interviews ? I noticed tv shows and some podcasts have been saying she is being attacked as she is a woman - BS. I am angry as this issue has devastated my life and her ‘fluff’ promotion distancing herself from subject matter doubles down shame on those lucky enough to survive . Badly done Blake. I understand she made a couple of references to helplines (gee, thanks) but she could have started a real conversation about stereotypes etc. Especially as she is just a fashion plate actress so chance to reach wider audience. I am personally devastated and demand an apology from this culturally blind spoiled actor
As someone who works in the film industry, I do wonder how the rewriting can even happen without the crew's knowledge? Or did they know it had been rewritten just not by whom?
These two dissing the writer of the movie is truly entitled and unprofessional. The writer herself was shocked at their trying to take credit and say minor flourishes may have been added but she wrote it.🤔😡
3:56 That suggests cowardice on both their parts. Needing other names to hide behind in case the project fails. Because this is their main source of income, the hair and booze side ventures are just that. I don’t get why the author is ok with her content being adapted beyond recognition other than the check cleared😒
I saw this film the other day and it was honestly amazing at highlighting DV. Plus DV was a big part of the film for a few characters. Blake did great in the film so it really has confused me why she never touched on it when promoting it.
I remember when people started commenting on the weirdness of the movie and it kind of seemed like that lead actor was going to get canceled but it all turned on Blake so fast
I’ve seen a comment online saying that blake wanted a Barbieheimer moment but didn’t realize that her movie was Oppenheimer and DP was Barbie and YES, she could totally have had this moment if done the right way... also I guess she didn’t think that so many people would know Justin’s work to the point of “taking his side” and don’t immediately believe in whatever she said, which was amplified by the way she chose to talk about the movie in the interviews.. she has only herself to blame
Ultimately Ryan will be fine. He's an actual movie star who's films earn a profit and primarily contributed to writing or works with his friends. I can imagine Blake getting alot of work off this where she isnt fulling bankrolling it.
I don’t know why anyone is calling out anyone??????? It’s a movie!!!! The song, Dirty Laundry, starts playing in my head every time I scroll across one of these…….
This whole thing is so ridiculous. Just because she filmed a role doesn't mean she has to be some spokesman for DV. Coming from a DV victim. Feeding the outrage machine.
