Bro if the season was at least 16 episodes a break makes sense but 8 episodes? There should not be a summer break worth of time between episodes.

Not gonna lie, Amazon putting on ads, especially on their own original series, has been a pretty big turn off.

I don't think the hype for Invincible has died down: if anything the fact that so many people are talking about it is proof otherwise. Plus the newest episode was great, and as long as they keep coming out with the same quality, people will watch.

That break was rieiculous, but it's STILL one of the best shows on Prime. I hope that it doesn't pull its punches and that people catch up because Invincible absolutely still deserves it. I hope Amazon doesn't cancel this gem because of their own braindead stupidity because people are gonna love where this story goes, and it only gets more wild and unexpected from here. Frankly, as good as season 1 was, that was basically the prologue, and people who haven't read the comic have no idea where it's gonna go. This show deserves to finish its story more than most of the shows on Amazon, and I hope audiences give it that chance.

Not gonna lie, I do agree that the hype had died because of Amazon’s decision to split it into two parts. I honestly completely forgot about Invincible. And now that it’s back, I really don’t care but I also do care at the same time. It’s kind of weird. Edit: holy shirt! 200 likes? What the hell? And yes, I did say shirt.

The thing is, this break could've worked a little bit if they gave us a release date. When stranger things s4 was coming out, people were aware that it was going to be split into 2 parts and we even had a release date for the 2nd part being next month, which is what made the cliffhanger at the end of part 1 work. Heck, even in Spiderman atsv the cliffhanger at the end worked since we all had a release date we could count on so we were all like "alr next year lets go." And even if that film doesnt have a release date right now, we at least know why they need the time. These episodes were finished, we had no release date when the break happened they just made us wait a whole season until they could finally release one of the 4 already finished episodes.

Show is peak, but this had no reason to return in March. January 14th, 2 months earlier should’ve been the time. Hope Season 3 isn’t handled this way.

I think people are way overreacting about the hype being gone because they are literally posting about it and watching it. There is a broader issue of companies putting in the work to market their entertainment anymore. Across the board I’ve noticed more and more companies relying almost exclusively on fan labor to push their content than actually going to the trouble to market it. That works for some shows that already have massive fan bases but you can’t rely solely on fan labor without viewership taking a drop. I really hope the backlash over the season gap prevents Amazon from pulling this bullshit with season 3 and that we get to have the 7-8 seasons that Robert Kirkman envisioned.

What would be great is if they just did complete seasons instead of parts I understand if the animators need more time that's fine but don't split the season into two parts I hate when that happens

If I had to give a fair assessment I will agree with a portion of what’s been mentioned, yes Amazon really did effectively kill the hype that Invincible had as it was awkwardly left off on a cliffhanger that really wasn’t a cliffhanger, only to return with a brutal episode that the fifth episode had like it’s honestly unfair and unfortunate to the show. I think if it did go on a 16 episode season it would be more effective, of course it would take longer to get in season wise but in the long run if this happened again 8 episodes would still keep it fresh and the hype would be there, but Amazon wouldn’t pay for more episodes so sadly we get what we get and have to ultimately hype ourselves up again just to get it going again.

I felt this way with Steven Universe, but I also think people definitely are catastrophizing. They need to calm down, and stop spreading negativity because it only hurts the show 😒

While I do think they made some bad decisions, people are definitely overreacting and hating, if we’re being honest here, just to hate. Although the release schedule did kill the hype a little, I think what also killed its hype is people’s overreactions and being way too upset about the break. Instead of posting a tick-tock complaining again about the release schedule, they should make shorts about the episode that did come out. But as usual, people value drama more than actually fucking enjoying a good show many people worked hard on.

People tend to jump to conclusions way too fast. Mass impatience. In their life, and they project it onto whatever just so happens to trigger that impatience. Even if it's just a day after what they were impatient for.

I wouldn't say after just a week "The hype is dead!". I've just started other shows in the meantime that I finish first before I continue Invincible and I assume I'm not alone.

During the break, I read the comics and spinoff. We are just getting to the best part and they did this.

I expected two weeks not HALF A YEAR

I just want to say that amazon really screwed up with their release date. It pushed me to just read the comics. I am still gonna watch the show, because the show itself is amazingly adapted and if you likes previous episodes, i think you should watch it too.

my friend group and I hate waiting weeks between episodes so every new show we get into, we show our interest, wait for the show/season to finish airing, then binge it in a super fun night with the boys. Though we waited a good while for season 2 to finish, when we eventually binged all of season 2 the very day the last episode was aired, we enjoyed the hell out of it. I get that the majority of audiences don't do the same but because we did- we had a great time, and it was a great season! So to hear that hype has died for a majority of the audience (if that's even true) I feel lucky enough to be able to look away from negativity like this because i'm still super hooked and excited for the future of the show, as someone who has not read the comics.

I don't have thin skin... I watch because I watch... Hype or not, good shows will stand the test of time, regardless of status or reputation...

The marketing is awful I thought it would only be a month long break but it turns into 3 and I found out about season 2 part 2 for a twitch clip of one of the characters dying and it sucked basically all the good stuff got spoiled to me also learned about the release times for this video so now I know not to touch my phone when I wake up on Thursday I don’t think the show killed the hype as much as people are saying but i definitely want to know why it got cut in half (mostly likely the strike)

I didn't realize the 5th episode released until Roundtable uploaded the video from last week.

I felt this way for a while with all of these Netflix shows. They come out with a banger of a first season and then go on hiatus for a year. By the time they come back I barely remember what the plot was and don't feel like rewatching the first season again so I might not even watch it

I think the break was kind of annoying, but claiming the break killed all hype for the show is an overstatement. Yes, it’s frustrating but the quality of this series has never dropped. It only gets better and true fans will stick by it til the end. This was actually a really good episode and we should focus on the quality of it instead of disregarding it because of a crappy release schedule.

If my friends were not talking about it I would have totally missed the part 2 release. Mid Season breaks kinda worked out for me with The Walking Dead when I used to follow it but I think when it is only 4 episodes per chunk instead of 8 as with TWD it is pretty rough.

Personally I think it's the lack of marketing. C'mon I only watch superhero and cartoon RU-vidrs I should been seeing ads since February but I didn't know it was back til I saw the collab on Fortnite.

This has always been a weird complaint to me. With the sheer plethora of content that we currently have, I have never found myself concerned about when I’m going to get to play or watch something. I guess for some people shows are less enjoyable if it’s not constantly popular and relevant.

It was never to give the animators more time or to give us time to digest the last episode it was just to keep us subscribed to Amazon

I think the biggest problem was that a lot of this season, while still being amazing, was really just a lot more setup for things to come in later seasons. We waited 3 years to see what would happen with the viltrumites and Omni man and while what we got of those was fantastic it just didn’t feel like a major focus of the season thus making the wait time feel more annoying

I know this has happened before with some shows that were in their last seasons. The last season of Magnum P.I. kept delaying its last episodes by a few weeks with no explanation or at least none that I could find. I do get why people are annoyed but they shouldn't be annoyed at the cast and crew as much as the studio that made the decision to make the long delay. I did read an article however that said that season 3 should be out sooner then season 2 was so hopefully they won't make the same mistake.

I understand the frustration. However, I was also among the generation that had to endure a 3-4 year wait for Attack on Titan season 2, Across the Spider-verse (waiting now for BTSV), approx. 9 years for Bleach TYBW, GTA VI (announcement), Berserk manga hiatus breaks, and things that I know will likely never come to be yet wait patiently to be continued like Spectacular Spider-Man & Legacy of Kain. Waiting like 3 1/2 months for an Invincible continuation was literally a spec in my eyes and just made me realize how modern day viewers WOULD NOT survive the long wait my generation to endure even more so with the things I didn't even list.

How can there be so much "backlog" when they took 2 years in between seasons? This show is so frustrating!

Me personally, i could care less about a series taking a hiatus so long as it is assured its gonna come back. It happened with Bojack Horseman. It happened with Better Call Saul. What is the big deal people? Yall need some patience.

I just started watching invincible last week and finished it today, I’m wondering in their is a part 3

i sort of forgot this show had a part 2 season 2. i forget the marketing that i saw that reminded me. i might've seen a banner ad on prime or something that reminded me or one thumbnail from a youtuber that was saying something. but i don't know what i really think of all this.

Glad im not the only one who feels this way. I knew they came back from mid season break but i was in no rush to watch it.

The break between the season feels like they were making sure to fix scheduling issues after what happened with season 1 into 2. They needed time to make sure that the next season would air at a fixed time window, as to not kill viewership even more. They also probably wanted to make sure the creative department weren't overworked to meet demanding deadlines, so ultimately they took a mid season break to finalise everything and get seasons out quicker. That and probably dealing with Amazon jargon.

I didn’t know the season returned until I got a video suggestion for a review of episode 8.

Shit took so long to drop I finished the comic because I was tired of waiting and was genuinely intrigued about the invincible universe and usually I just wait I don't read but this is a 1 time exception.

when the break first came into play people heavily defended it saying it was for crew to polish up. But if it wasn't ready they should have released it later and together. but the creator said it was for fans to 'take in' what happened. I still find the last episodes great, but the mid season break unjustified

I was waiting for the whole season to drop. I had a feeling it was gonna take a break at some point but this was just insane. Having read the comics I understand how it’s supposed to go but I really do think this break hurt it in the long run, especially especially if they really were planning on making a live action show for invincible. This is based on the first season and having binge the comics they could make six seasons of the show easy but I don’t think that they should do this again if they keep going after season two

As someone that was into the CWs Arrowverse ( i know i know dont judge me i was a kid) im amused that people cant take season breaks anymore lol.

The ads really effected my viewing experience, to the point i watched the final episode through alternative means. Amazon's 1 day shipping is a gamble nowadays, and now prime video has ads...what am i even paying for? I'm almost done collecting the comics, and once I get all 12 volumes, ill proceed to read it in its entirety. I hope season 3 is handled much better, but if things dont turn out right ill probably fall out of love with the show. At least by then I would have read the comics instead.

The last episode that came out the other day was really good we saw some good revelations in mark and in himself too

I was checking up on beyond the spider verse and then the article mentioned invincible so i checked it in tfpdl and watched it today

Having already read almost all of the comics, i didnt mind the break at first. But seeing the break being extended until this month, it did make me upset

I think Invincible fans are in contention for being one of the most toxic out there.
