Hey guys :) thought I’d do a part two to the look I did last year inspired by the mean girl in dramas but this time for the leading actress! She’s quiet, strong, works hard is stuck in a love triangle with another girl who hates her but she always figures it out in the end!

Omg, I watched Meteor Garden in fifth grade- and I can't believe I managed to finish it- it dragged on for sooo long, it was rlly boring lmfao. I actually liked it before, but whenever I try watching it now, I just realize how toxic the main couple is.

Playful Kiss where the 2nd lead of BOF became the ML and was even worse than the ML in BOF. Like I wanted the writers to forget the source material and change the 1st ML to 2nd and her either end up with 2nd lead or neither and bring back the upperclassman who liked her at the end. I think the writers of BOF left the ending open ended on purpose. They actually shot a wedding scene, but left it out. I feel like the FML will end up the the 2nd lead in the end. At least in the Korean version. Almost all the other adaptations they got married except for Princess Hours

I agree it was really up and down, and even overwhelming sometimes. And Idk about you guys but I really disliked the romance in it. I feel like it would have been fine without it. They should have just focused on friendship rather than romance. It just annoyed me so much that I had to force myself to watch it. I’ll probably get roasted haha but Itaewon class was one of my least favorite dramas I’ve watched so far.

There is a C drama on Netflix called Meteor Garden. Its a modern version (2019) of the original (2001). I personally have never watched the original but the newest version on Netflix I loved so much. If you like cheesy good girl bad boy romance, I would recommend. Also Dylan Wang who plays the main guy is so freaking cute haha :)

Spoiler alert I have mixed feeling about that drama. It has some phenomenal scenes that really hit me hard such as the hot pot scene, but the ending was just weird af. Like the whole river dance and her being kidnapped to the wedding. It was a mess.

i would recommend "fight for my way"!! it's my fav drama of all time ive literally rewatches it three times already. it's a refreshing comedy-drama that talks abt chasing your passions; it's also a good take on the best-friends-to-lovers trope i just love it so much!!!

Boys over flowers will forever be a CLASSIC. I remember when everyone was super obsessed with it and the fandom was huge! Good times, man. It just really brings back so many memories and nostalgic feelings. It was when the whole k-drama and k-pop industry was starting out, and I was living my best life. I'm watching "Find Me in Your Memory" now and I love it! It's really refreshing - the female lead is happy, straightforward, sincere and honest and goes after what she wants. But there's actually more depth of the brief summary from asianwiki, it's melodrama with a mysterious twist! Also, yeo hajin, the female character, has like an amazing wardrobe and is gorgeous.

So I was reading the comments and nobody, NOBODY (at least I didn't really see anyone), talked about I'm not a robot, but honestly it is SO FREAKING GOOD, the acting is good, the kisses in the drama aren't those tiny pecks that we're honestly so used to see, they're kinda hot???, The plot is magnificent and it made me cry, smile, laugh out loud and be really angry, even at the protagonist sometimes, if you haven't watched it yet I truly recommend it, loved the video btw :)

Chocolate on netflix slayed me. I am a forever fan haha! I cringe everytime i think of Boys over Flowers the Korean version (OG taiwanese and Japanese versions were the best imo)

Saw notification so can finally take a break from online assignments to watch this :) I watched Itaewon Class and Crash LAnding On You too. Currently watching Hi Bye Mama, it's really nice and cried lots of time. Also, definitely looking forward to The King Eternal Monarch. You looked super cute!!

some classic ones i absolutely love is 'Healer', and 'Just between lovers' is really good too😍. These are serious dramas with leads having real connections, not to mention good acting and their looks are not overly beautified lol.

Whenever a drama comes out and is super trending, I tend to avoid watching it instinctively for some reason. That's what happened with "Ittaewon Class" and "Crash Landing On You", as the most recent ones. I will eventually get to them I think, but for now I'm watching some older ones. I just finished "Fight For My Way" which was a very typical but enjoyable drama and "Hyena" which is a newer one but with a very original plot and I definitely recommend it. I also watched the second season of "Kingdom" and re-watched my all-time favourites "Strong Girl Do Bong Soon" and "One Spring Night"!

Itaewon class and Crash landing on you are veeery good!! I enter in the world of drama with this ones and I find them very realistic and with no cliché things. So I really recomend it!!

Looking back, kdramas back in the days were pretty bad tbh. Exactly as you stated, the main lead is mean to the girl and eventually she falls in love with him. Like????? Really glad that kdramas have started to have stronger female leads (kind of) and the story line is more complex! 💖 If anyone has any good recommendations please let me know! Would love to start watching again.

The best female character driven KDrama I’ve watched in the past few years is Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Soo. It’s funny, introspective, and most importantly, the whole point of the plot is that the main protagonist has range ☺️ it quickly became one of my top 3 kdramas of all timeand I used to be an avid watcher so it beat out a lot! I highly recommend it

When talking about the drama where she falls in love with a guy who's a cat, were you talking about Meow, the secret boy? I found that funny bc I just finished watching it and though it doesn't have great ratings it was so cute and I really liked it. I wonder if you got around to watching. I recommend!
