As somebody as equally a part of the mechanical pencil community as something normal such as the “fitness community”… There’s something out there for everybody to geek out over. Yes, I own collectors edition, limited exported mechanical pencils. Mechanical pencils. On another serious note, there are communities of minimalist travelers (for ex, onebag) that have to figure out ways to maximize the smallest amount of space they’re comfortable with. I’m a part of this one, too, but I’m much less conservative due to the airlines I travel on.
@taipogriz836 There's a community around collectors or hobbyists. But there's no community of people who pack things. That's not a thing. That makes the word "community" meaningless. There are people who put on their right sock and shoe before they put on their left sock. They exist, but they are not a community.
@@ernststravoblofeld Rather unnecessarily pedantic and somehow also in the wrong way. As there are communities of rubix cube enthusiasts, there are the same for people who make it a competition to pack as effectively as possible, as light as possible, and in some cases - being complete maximalists. But since you brought in that scenario - If a group of right-sock-first-putter-onners got together - yes, they would still be a community, if we’re factually getting pedantic. It’s really not that deep nor serious enough to be analyzed.
I do the same. I roll shirts and fold shorts and pants, both inside compression cubes. Dresses and skirts i fold bigger, the size of the suitcase and put them on top of the cubes.
I've combined approaches, too. LOL, I was sorting through my closet and found a GARMENT BAG.....it did work for me at one time, but being older now...whew!! I carried that??
I found out about rolling from my children, and I absolutely love it! I put the heavy items on the bottom and also on the wheel end of suitcase, I also pack my cubes empty also roll, when I get to destination I then use packing cubes if space limited & have to use suitcase as a drawer, they keep everything organized with easy access. I like using the little indentations for things like socks, and under-item’s, I actually have been able to take one suitcase instead of two. Shoes go on sides wrapped in small size garbage bags or I also like the doggie bags they are narrow & most shoes fit in them, then any of my non-carry on personal items, double ziplock ( I reuse every thing until unable, no waste) I pack a purse love the baggelli-brand they are washable. My carry on is a backpack, your hand free, has made traveling so much easier.
Imagine having heated debates about packing when each person has different clothes and different types of luggage so there isn't really a right or wrong way, lol
Wow. This is so informative. I’m In Thailand now, reminded of all the peripheral garbage Americans bring to the table. Everyone pack the way you’re gonna pack, if it’s worked so far you’re doing great. Did he say ‘packing community’??
There's an awful lot of people packing for travel - and with people, come opinions! So, in a manner of speaking, yes! For some reason, there are passionate factions about the RIGHT or WRONG way to do it - roll/fold, cubes/no cubes, etc. This way works for me, but you do what works for you.
