If you begin the loop by eating your grenade to activate heat rises, your Dive will scorch targets. A very useful mechanic is to 1. Activate heat rises 2. Ability melee a target and immediately Dive the same target afterwards. If your melee kills the target you get extended Restoration, but if the target doesn't die from the melee your dive will now ignite it and also count as a melee kill for Sunbracers while giving extended restoration :)
This is too funny - I battled myself on including a whole section detailing this ONE instance, but couldn't figure out how and it didn't make the cut (my vids are so long as it is LOL) -- thank you for adding this value to the comments Samme!
@@Jatmahl ember of ashes is not required. the fragments I decided to stick with after many tests are: - ember of char (for extra ignitions) - ember of empyrean - ember of resolve (for extra healing) - ember of singeing (for more dives and heals). and for a weapon I choose either the Parasite or Two-Tailed Fox. I prefer TTF since it can stun both unstoppable and overload champions.
Man. I’ve seen so many build videos on sunbracers, but yours is so detailed and well put together. I didn’t even know heat rises did all these things and I’ve been playing the game for a while. Thanks for the in depth video.
@@JeighNeither Or even better... both Nah but in all seriousness, using something like sunshot with heat rises is the quickest way I've every built up my melee. Usually clears whole rooms with just a few shots on more casual playlists and is an instant melee charge.
I’ve seen many Sunbracers builds over the past 2 seasons and whilst yours varies very little from the rest in terms of the actual mods and fragments, your presentation, detail and the info graphic at the end, is just so much better than the rest. Fantastic content; gonna go back and check some of your other videos and look forward to more like this; great job man.
K, bout to blow your mind. at 4:00, the correct order is as follows. 1. Eat grenade (proc H.R.) 2. Melee an enemy and jump (or vice versa so-long as you hit with a charged melee). 3. Pheonix dive onto surviving enemies to do scorch damage. The scorch these enemies take from pheonix dive add onto the incinerator snap scorch which causes an ignition, killing them. That all coded to count towards the melee, proccing sunbracers.
On console if you unbind auto melee and set charged and uncharged melee to the same button, it’ll always prioritize the powered melee. Works really well for bonk hammer and hunter knife builds too.
I feel it's also worth shouting out Monte Carlo; it's decent chip damage, and it return melee energy on (damaging) hits and kills. I've found it pretty reliable in most content
thank you for the video well explained, I just came back to play destiny 2 after years I am lost as hell but this setup help me alot going thru all I have to completed to catch up and the setup for arc is insane thank alot.
I really like the way you broke down the explanation into options and phases, talked about how to handle scenarios like being out of melee or grenades or dive, and talked about weapon _possibilities_ and *why* they work, instead of only "this weapon works good get this one". Subscribed!
Nice! Just introduced my little brother to Destiny 2 and he just got Sun Bracers yesterday and wanted to build around it, as a Titan main wasn't sure as I'm also new-ish to the game but this build seems pretty awesome!
Also one of my favorite weapons to use with the sunbracers is Skyburners, since you dont need to aim the weapon to easily scorch targets, and with overload scouts this season, the scorch from skyburners is able to easily stun an overload champion around 2 times
This video is so helpful as I'm trying to learn this so I can run this role in GMs and tougher content. I'm trying to learn the cycle, and I literally have your video paused at 3:48 so I can keep referencing it.
Subbed because you’re the first person I’ve watched to mention separating charged and uncharged melee button functions. This is easily the most important part of the build. If you don’t do this step, this build can be incredibly frustrating because you’ll keep punching red bar enemies instead of snapping to proc the grenades.
this is an insanely well spoken and well put together guide on a playstyle that could easily overcomplicate me out of trying it. i audibly laughed when i got to the venn diagram. that thing rocks. this vid rocks
If you have a beefier enemy to kill to proc Sunbracers, you can also just incinerator snap the enemy’s toes, as the snap will apply scorch on impact and splash damage, so it then guarantees an ignition, which because a melee created the ignition it’s counted as powered melee damage, proc-ing Sunbracers if the ignition kills. With this in mind, you can incinerator snap at an enemy’s toes and immediately phoenix dive, giving the full 2x Resto at the same time because of the ignition-melee kill
I plan to start focusing my Warlock very soon as I’ve been on my Titan since Lightfall, and of course you come through with an explanation and example on a top tier build. You’re the man 💪🏼
4:40 it's worth noting that the game is weird with how it prioritizes which melee to use. If you're solar warlock with incinerator snap, it will prioritize the uncharged melee at point blank range. But if you're an arc warlock with ball lightning, it will use charged melee even if you're at point blank. It does this with stasis, strand and void warlock too. Strand and solar titan also prioritize charged melee at all times as well. So it's better to have separate keybinds in general, keeps you from wasting a charged melee.
What a goated individual. I’ve watched countless build vids this week, as I decided to come back after a 2-3 year hiatus from Destiny - this is the ONLY one I’ve been truly satisfied with. Maybe I’m just too picky and detail-oriented (it seems like you may be that way as well), but I really appreciate you taking the time to explain every little detail/mechanic in the build, the synergy’s, and WHY it actually works well… I know for many people some of the stuff is old news, but you covering those things in detail is what separated you from the others I’ve watched so far. And somehow you still manage to keep your videos the same length or even shorter than theirs as well. Long post, but felt like you deserved recognition & appreciation for those things (even if you never end up seeing this lol). Liked and subbed, ty ❤️
Amazing video. Well thought out and thoroughly explains everything for this build. I was running it pre starfire nerf and even then, it was amazing. Lately though, I have moved away from Sunbracers in favour of the endless ignite phoenix well.
Love how you explain everything and how to use it properly 😊 I gave up with the restoration build as I had no clue what I was doing 😂 deffo going back and trying it out along with your 7 other builds to try 😊 thankyou for making builds easier to understand for noobs like me 😂🥰
Thank you for also pointing out the tradeoffs and pre-requisites very clearly. i was on sunbracers for about 3 months pre lightfall, i kinda know when to use it or not. one thing i learnt the most is great weapon combo as a support, especially when no more ads and red bars around, esp in boss room, great weapon combos is the last resort.
Best explanation why I couldn’t get the build to work at xall previously. Now it works perfectly, and only having 50 discipline I’ve got 100 res, 90 rec and 70 str. Thank you 👍
Holy shit man, what a high quality video. I love the information, the way it's displayed, and the way you had the gameplay in the background for the ad was a really great touch. I do like it when you have your webcam on, but if you think it's best to only have it on sometimes then that's great! Just wanted to give my opinion on it :)
i appreciate you for making this kind of video, warlocks are the one class that i am complete shit at, but ever since i saw vids of people soloing riven and kalli i wanted to give it a try but i would always fuck up the loop cause i didnt know what i was doing but this helps alot so ty
amazing video i have sent it to my friend who is newer to the game as i feel you describe everything in a way anyone can understand! Thank you so much!
Been using sunbracers a lot last few seasons ember of torches is required for snap + dive to ignite and it will kill red bars in gm’s the correct rotation is: Eat nade Snap Dive Jump + throw grenades Always bunny hop around to proc heat rises timer extension and melee refund. Also running ember of resolve is more than enough healing and saves you from running 2 fragments for healing
I’m not sure if this got nerfed since the video, because in higher end content I always get killed while activating my Phoenix Dive. If I’m supposed to have Restoration x2 at the first frame of the dive, that shouldn’t be happening. I’m going to go test this out and verify when restoration begins
Hi Castly, please forgive me for not subbing earlier as I completely fell in love with the guides and forgot to click haha. On another note, Manscaped is really no joke and really works as advertised, I bought this probably 2yrs now and never stopped using it at all.
I find the best order of activation to be eat the grenade, snap at an enemy, and simultaneously phoenix dive at their feet. This guarantees an ignition, and when you get the kill, you bump the restoration timer to ~5-10 seconds, depending if it’s a double or not.
Anyone struggling with the melee kill with snap if you do it point blank onto the ground it’s almost guaranteed a ignition from snap and counts towards your melee kill. I personally eat nade dive onto a enemy then finish it with snap and spam nades after to get the restoration and radiant rolling
I just started playing this build last night and it is so different play style to what I was running. And I tend to get overwhelmed in busy harder content. But with practice I will be fine and I am fine tuning what weapons work best with how I do thing. Sun shot was fun for a bit but my Epocal Integration does more shot damage and it has incandescent. I’m still tweaking it.
My personal build is a warlock, and I think one of the most OP builds in and out of pvp and pve. It consists of Dawn blade phoenix dive, Burst Glide, Celestial fire, with Monte Carlo, weapon Solar grenade with sunbracers maxed, Daybreak Icarus dash, Touch of flame, Ember of beams, Ember of blistering, Ember of ashes, And whatever 4th fragment you want to add. This is a really op build and pair it with Golden trace skin on all your Armour and discipline as well as mobility. And you will be un killable if you play it right. My weapons are monte carlo on first slot, arsenic 4b electric bow as secondary, and eternity edged tempered as heavy 3rd. Also I have custom gear ornaments and other Armour that I unlocked using golden trace, so my character feels really agile the way I have it all setup and feels like it belongs in the game, everything kind of matches. My profile for reference is El_Juicer_223 on Bungie, can also check the mods there too.😂 thank you try it out!!
One thing to mention heat rises gives melee energy on mid air kills, including melee kills, so you want to jump then snap to get most of your melee bacl
Seeing all these sunbracers users with ic dash then dying in content they have no business dying in, heat rises is simply better🗣️🗣️ the weapon system chart is rlly unique w video
Is this video still relevant in the current season? Just started playing warlock and love the Sunbracers build. Also, what armour stats should I be looking at for PVE
Fusion rifles have lousy distance as far as airbourn effectiveness goes maybe a solar exotic the skyburners oath would be better? For heat rising attacks?
Oh man oh boy, my sweet sweet Sunbracers build that I’ve been rocking since before the 3.0 system. I wonder how long before Bungie do the war crime of nerfing this build.
I've tried a couple of times but I never manage to make it work, especially in a fireteam. You're competing with people, and they always steal your kills in the middle of the set-up. When I don't play alone I go back to my orb-generating build. I really appreciate the step-by-step guide and the common mistakes.
Great video. Been using Sunbracers since I got my first pair years ago, can't seem to take them off. It's a shame that I personally value Icarus Dash over Heats Rises for most endgame content. That mid air movement control has saved myself and Flawless runs multiple times. I also like to Skate and use Eager Edge movement a lot and Icarus is just *chefs kiss* for control. I have tried swapping to Heats Rises many many times but always default back to Icarus due to habit. Great video again and I'm glad my favorite exotics are finally getting the spotlight after ˢᵗᵃʳᶠᶦʳᵉ .... gross.
