I have a sketchy lender story for you. My own mortgage company (a place where my husband actually worked at for 11 yrs), decided for a 6 month period to take every payment I sent to them (from Nov through April) and apply those payments to the wrong month(s) to the wrong year and in the wrong amt, which thus made current month appear unpaid on paper. They decided in April 2016 to refuse the next scheduled mortgage payment, then claimed I suddenly owed them over $3 grand, then when we were going back & forth on the phone with them to fix this I was served with papers that they were taking me to court to foreclose for non payment for 6 months. When we went to court ta month later they told the court it was now a TWELVE month deficiency instead of 6 months. Without going into a long story, and believe me it's a good one, I fought them in court for 5 years. The judge sided with them even though I presented to the court the checks of every payment with the bank's endorsement on the backs. Fall comes around, I get a letter stating the foreclosure sale at the courthouse on February 6th would be "postponed". February 7th comes around, I get a knock on my back door, it's a woman, she introduces her as the new owner of my house. After owning this house for 17 years I was shocked. News to me. I took my lender/bank to court for wrongful foreclosure. The judge, who happened to personally know the woman who bought my house since both she and him were from the town I lived in, decided against me. I continued to pursue the bank as we lost the house, went homeless living in hotels. Long story short they settled out of court, they didn't want to go to trial, but I was never able to get them on screwing up my home loan. They literally stole my house of 17 years, STOLE IT. Affinity Federal Credit Union of Basking Ridge, NJ stole my house. and they got away with it. I was never late, never missed a payment, ever. Their accounting screwup caused an entire family to lose their home. I lost not only the house but a lot of furniture I wasn't able to get into storage, my son lost everything in his room that we couldn't fit into storage or into our car, our credit was decimated, we were just literally sick at times over it, and went through hell bouncing from hotel to hotel, it ruined our lives. We won't be able to own much for quite a while and my husband is now retired with cancer, it also affected my ability to obtain a job or buy a car or anything since they check credit. All because someone at Affinity FCU screwed up November 2015-April 2016's payments. They definitely cashed the checks, we have proof of that, what they did with it is the issue. True story, nothing left out. I will forever hate those people and what they did to us. Learning how to live with it knowing that they got away with it has been the most difficult part.

Hello, I just happened to come across your channel. I believe and have believed we were being done very wrong in our home buying process. I even refused to go with my husband to closing. He closed in July 2021, and we did a usda rural loan in goergia. Who can I contact to address these issues about how I feel we were taken advantage of since they knew we were first-time home buyers. We live in a small town, so our only mortgage attorney, I believe, is the one that our lender made us use. Thanks in advance, and thank you for the informational videos.

I would call USDA directly. Google usda eligibility home loan and the USDA site should come up and they should have a number. I hope that helps.

Hi Jen great content. I’m trying to decide if I really want to go into this field, been in sales all of my life. The most fun I’ve had was selling cars at Carmax because I helped them get the financing done. That’s what appeals to me about mortgage lending. Anyway just wondering if you had a video to help you get a feel if this is the right businesses move. Thanks again for the great content

Can you go over what would happen if you use your credit card or apply for new credit while in escrow or closing?
@JenniferBeeston
@JenniferBeeston Год назад
It depends on your unique situation. If your debt to income is low and you have high credit is a paperwork headache but not a real issue. If your debt to income is high or credit low it could throw you into a decline. Best not to do it

My mortgage lender created 2 loan applications with 2 different purchase prices, although purchase price was always only 1 price. There is an electronic signature on one of the applications and the other contains my prewritten signature from the signature verification company. I never filled out a loan application. All the information listed on both the applications is fraudulent, everything! Although, I've reported it to everyone, no one cares! My mortgage servicer has both copies, that's how I found out there was two. Aren't mortgage servicers mandated reporters? My servicer informed me in response to my, "Notice Of Error" they don't care and the fraud does not affect my servicer? By the way, the lender at 18-months "after closing" also created new closing disclosures and provided them as originals... also something no one cared about and told that this does not affect my mortgage servicing? Is this true does the servicer have a responsibility to report? Are they mandated reporters? What are my options if my loan is fraudulent? ❤
