Are you ready to become impossible to ignore? To achieve unmatched success and financial freedom, it's never about where you start, it's about your journey to acquire skills and the ideas you choose to invest in. In today’s episode we explore the mind of Codie Sanchez, a successful business investor and entrepreneur who has built top-tier success turning “boring” companies into a financial empire.
Discover how Codie broke free from small thinking to create a life of wealth and prosperity. She believes that the difference between being broke and being a billionaire is a set of ideas. Through her unique perspective and strategies, she provides an instruction manual for success that you can apply in your own life.
We further unravel Codie's gateway to success - a simple idea executed brilliantly, turning boring businesses into gold mines. This is a testament to her belief that everyone can achieve massive success by discarding the unnecessary and focusing on what truly matters.
“I don't acquire money because I want Lamborghinis and fancy things. I do it because I think it is a way to freedom, because it is a tool for power.” -Codie Sanchez
If you're interested in mindset, entrepreneurship, building wealth, and creating a successful business, this episode is a must-watch. Get ready to rewrite your instruction manual for success with Codie Sanchez on Impact Theory.
Codie Sanchez Quotes:
“Money wields more power than you perceive. Hearing that 'money can't buy happiness' often leads to the false narrative that money is evil, worthless, or unworthy of pursuit."
“I don't acquire money because I want Lamborghinis and fancy things. I do it because I think it is a way to freedom, because it is a tool for power.”
“Most people that are blue collar workers, at least in my experience that I've worked with, they think about personal development a bit like therapy.”
"Strive for excellence to an extent that you become impossible to ignore."
“I had to re-navigate and negotiate my language. That was the only way I could change my relationship with money. So it started with being okay with things like personal development, which is totally normal.”
“Do you think you have been investing in small businesses for so long? Small has affected your thinking?”
“I actually think that money might be contagious and that if you are around people who have it, the exact opposite of everything we think happens, [...] especially when you're young, and especially if you're hungry.”
“I don't really know how to learn except I get around other people who have more than I do and I just see how they think. And then it opens up this whole aperture”
“I don't know when in today's world we decided that having difficulties in front of you meant that you were meant for less. That is such a false narrative, so I just don't ascribe to it.”

The most important thing that should be on everyone mind currently should be to invest in different sources of income that doesn't depend on the government. Especially with the current economic crisis around the word. This is still a good time to invest in various stocks, Gold, silver and digital currencies.

The key to big returns is not big moving stocks. It's managing risk in relationship to reward. Having the correct size on and turning your edge as many times as necessary to reach your goal. That holds true from long term investing to day trading.

Even with the right technique and assets some investors would still make more than others, as an investor, you should’ve known that by now, nothing beats experience and that’s final, personally I had to reach out to a market analyst for guidance which is how I was able to grow my account close to a million, withdraw my profit right before the correction and now I’m buying again

Just buy low sell high. Stick with a good company by either not selling when it’s going lower and/or buying more at that time. Almost always the good well managed companies will come back strong at some point. The other is to get yourself a financial-advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on.Read more

Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Having an investment adviser is the best way to go about the market right now, I've been in touch with a coach for awhile now mostly cause I lack the depth knowledge and mental fortitude to deal with these recurring market conditions, I netted over $220K during this dip, that made it clear there's more to the market that we just don't know.

Love this. I own a small dog grooming salon and have been with my husband since we were 15 and 16 yrs old (22 years) with a teenage son together. We don't know how to do life apart. I make more money but he really keeps the household going. He gets home before I do, does most of the cooking, we share the cleaning, he does all the yard work, I take care of the abundance of animals we have, I run the business, we share in raising our son equally. He is absolutely a huge part of why I'm successful. He also keeps me grounded when I'm trying to do too much, work too many hours, etc. I love the advice from you both, and have watched several of both of your videos. I'm going to try the 3 goals, make a shift in some things with my employees, and thank you for reminding me to make sure my husband knows how much I appreciate him today.

My goodness! Hearing two highly intelligent people discussing business in the context of culture, practices, personal preferences, and personality, AND understanding that the language changes between groups of people ie. from low financial success to high success has been a fascinating concept to uptake. I really can't get enough of this kind of discussion. I feel if more of us spoke this honestly about what money can really do, rather than just focusing on getting "rich" then our world could change on a dime. Accountability for our decision-making power seems to be one of the largest blocks in our social age that keeps people locked into limiting belief structures and poverty. Writing out all of the points of what you offer in terms of value can be translated to SO many aspects of our lives, not just business. I am truly grateful for the overarching depth within everything you shared today. Thank you both!

Funny you should ask. I took notes then put them into chatGPT to formalize them a bit. Here was what came out. It's evident that this podcast provided a wealth of insights and actionable steps for personal and professional growth. Here's an extrapolated summary based on your notes: --- ### **Key Takeaways from Cody Sanchez and Tom Bilyeu's Podcast:** 1. **Perspectives & Mindset:** - Life should be viewed as a game filled with beauty and opportunities. - Embrace economic facts and debunk fallacies. - The biggest hurdles in life are often mental. A shift in perspective, from viewing challenges as frustrating to exciting, can change outcomes. - "Time + consistency + iteration = money." It's a formula that emphasizes patience, repetition, and the importance of continuous improvement. - Saying "no" to one thing means you're saying "yes" to another, potentially better, opportunity. 2. **Hiring & Team Management:** - When hiring, assess whether potential employees view challenges as exciting or as obstacles. - Being honest during interviews and establishing a company culture from the outset can be pivotal. Prospective employees should be aware of this culture even before they interview. - Recognize that leadership isn't confined to a title. An employee can be a pivotal leader without holding the top position in a company. - Acknowledge the "Curse of competence." Are you willing to work harder than others? Adopt the Mamba mentality. 3. **Time Management:** - Prioritize your time. Your calendar should reflect your priorities. Avoid overloading it with tasks that aren't aligned with your goals. - Determine your most productive hours and guard them fiercely. For instance, avoid meetings before 9 am or after 2 pm if those are your peak productive times. 4. **Growth & Learning:** - Be curious. Foster a growth mindset, and never stop learning. - Engage in deep, meaningful conversations. Surround yourself with top performers to elevate your own performance. - Consider offering your services for free to industry experts, acquiring knowledge and access in return. - Think big. Aim to understand how millionaires and billionaires think and approach problems. 5. **Business & Finance:** - Consider alternative business models, such as buying profitable businesses and then using the profits to transition the original owner out. - To generate wealth, one must create value. This means offering something that people desire more than their money. - Establish clear financial goals. For instance, if $500,000 per year is your happiness threshold, strategize how to achieve it. - Wealth can be equated to reversing entropy. In a chaotic world, creating order and value is the essence of wealth. 6. **Personal Development:** - Identify what you're willing to sacrifice to achieve your dreams. Track your progress, and ensure you're moving closer to your goals daily. - Partnerships are vital. Many successful people attribute their success to strong partnerships. - Take risks, but ensure you have a stable foundation at home. This could mean a strong family or support system. - Use challenges as a narrative. Your personal struggles can resonate with many and can be a powerful tool for connection. 7. **Sales & Networking:** - Build authentic relationships instead of playing the numbers game. Focus on one-on-one interactions that either lead to direct work or referrals. - Adopt a structured approach to connection and sales. This includes being genuinely curious, showing empathy, addressing pain points, providing solutions, and guiding conversations to clear outcomes. 8. **General Tips:** - Start your day with a cold shower. - Clearly define your priorities, keeping loved ones at the top. - Use money as a tool for education and empowerment. - Always adopt the victor mentality instead of a victim mindset. - Health, critical thinking, and asset accumulation are pillars of success. --- These insights and actionable steps, when implemented, can guide one towards personal and professional success. Consider revisiting the segment you mentioned (around 2:18-2:25) to gain a deeper understanding of Cody's approach to business acquisitions.

Great interview. At the 13:39 mark, the local coffee roaster in Bird Rock, which Codie Sanchez mentions, is Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, located in the Bird Rock neighborhood of La Jolla at 5626 La Jolla Boulevard. They have a handful of locations in San Diego and their coffee is excellent. Try the Cortado if you get the chance.

She made the perfect point at 1:21:08 that crosses from her Senior Chief Seal ceremony story, ( in the Army my rank performs the equivalent duties; First Sergeant / Master Sergeant ), "to go get a job"; "Experience is your best teacher; but often her fees are very high"; coupled with the fact that experience is also the one single element that cannot be replaced; that is why "Shake and Bake Enlisted Leaders" failed during the Vietnam conflict; and Officers had to pickup the slack, and it took decades for non-commissioned officers to get the majority of their authority back. Peace

Regarding free work - it’s easy to do free work if you already have a pretty good established wealth to fall back on. Like you do Tom. Then you mentally can adjust and seek the time in order to learn new stuff. But when you have zippo in the bank, and you’re tired of being paid bugger-all for the effort you have or will have put in, and get nothing….it’s generally avoided. It’s not just impractical but also a mental state. Wealthy people tend to forget this mental state and put it behind them. Don’t forget where you came from Tom, because most people tend to be there, in the deficit of life. In the trenches.

@@therapywithisabel Nope. You can have the best work ethic in the world, and still be pretty poor (I would know). Plus, have you tried working 3 jobs and still try to do some free work on the side? Cant do it. Because those 3 jobs pay so little that you NEED to work those three jobs (or more) simply to stay afloat. No thanks to Capitalism, which relies on one person ascending and the other descending. That's the nature of capitalism. For every up, there has to be a down. Now try all this while upkeeping a family. Plus finding the time to cultivate friendships. This model she's talking about, might have worked 20 or 30 years ago. Not now. You know what works -? consistency, which MIGHT, maybe, get you ahead. Again, I would know. And just plain old luck, by being at the right place at the right time. Fortunately, I'm now a game designer, doing pretty ok. But for almost 10 years, all I did was donkey-work! It made me realise many things in life.

Amazing podcast. Christopher Hitchen's was not a Christian at the end of his life. He may have considered it, but when he was diagnosed with the disease that would finally kill him, he said that he may accept a belief in God when he loses his witts, but not to believe him because it's just his fear talking, not what he actually believes. He said this in a recorded interview shortly after he was diagnosed.

Thank you for this. I was losing hope that there are no bosses left that care for people and bringing others up. We can all make it and we just need to change the mindset. Like you said, when I got into Crypto and I started to understand how money works, I lost all hope and had an extensional crisis. The only way forward is to try and educate and redistribute wealth back to the people. Ground up or nothing will change. The average person isn't smart enough to drive this future forward and our politics is prime example of this, our politics are a reflection of our education system.

It resonates with our ethos at Strategic Domain Invest, where we believe the right domain can be a game-changer for any business. Codie's take on money as a tool for freedom and power is spot on. The idea that the difference between being broke and being a billionaire is a set of ideas is a game-changer. This episode is a treasure trove of insights for anyone looking to escape the rat race and rewrite their success story. Thanks for this gem! 🚀

Hey Tom, not sure if you'll ever read this but the part where you'll say, "you won't control your destiny" really hits home because in this world you can't really have everything. You must have already realised this but maybe not, but you're a legit control freak. You don't need to control your destiny, because destiny is fake, you don't control anything, you're a piece on this world and you are simultaneously nothing and the most important thing to yourself. And maybe I'm wrong but there's a small subset of people who could become like you but don't because of some inner wisdom, I believe you don't have yet. I mean if you were at the peak of your wisdom, you'd probably still be doing what you're doing with all the suffering anyway but you just would think differently. I've not done any real businesses but I have sold some things online and also found it to be a fun, game like thing that rewards you for correct decisions. I love you're stuff but the fact that you still "need" to control your destiny and "leave a legacy" sounds off to me. Not entirely wrong but maybe I need clarification of what your define by those things. Either way hope your keep going but it legit sounds unhealthy. You may have the mindset where the more you charge forward and never stop, the more you can do which is rewarding you as it is partially true, but I reckon holidays or break from work are essential skills you need to enjoy your life. If you don't it totally proves that you're incapable of letting go which means you're not actually in control. So there's a little Logical fallacy about control if you want to inspect it. I still love your stuff because I believe that most people have the opposite/complimentary problems to you haha and you have their solution but I bet if you stop asking the bubble of "hyper-successful people" and maybe ask the broader population if you can even find someone smart enough to talk to and is "normal", you could gain tremendous benefits. Maybe like a normal doctor, therapist, engineer, teacher. And not just industry leaders.
