Damn I hate drug testing. I'm not even using marijuana or any other drug and I still hate it. It is a huge violation of my privacy. I don't want a employer telling me what I can or can't do in my own house. It feels too much like servitude and it makes me hate my employer. I feel like a company should pay me one thousand dollars everytime I get drug tested. If they want to police me in my own home on my own time then I see that as a billable service.

Looking at all the drugs and detection times, seems like drug tests are only for weed 😕. There has to be a better and fair way to test people.

I was subject to drug testing for 31 of my 35 year career as a flight attendant. They say it’s random, but I’m not sure it is. Before it was implemented, I ran my mouth saying that it was unconstitutional as it was a illegal search without probable cause. If someone does not appear intoxicated, then there is no cause. The test requires you (The defendant) to provide them (The prosecution) with evidence to prove or disprove your guilt or innocence, using a test that is not infallible. In what court of law in this nation would that be allowed. They say that it’s for public safety, but what they really care about is the public‘s perception of safety. If they truly cared about public safety, they would not have crewmembers work a 14 hour day and then have an eight hour layover. I have seen more than one crew member literally fall asleep on their feet after a short layover. They would not have harsh penalties for crew members who call in sick, thereby forcing them to come to work jacked up on all kinds of over-the-counter cold medication. Also, if the DOT is so concerned about public safety, then why is drug and alcohol testing only implemented on certain work forces? Frankly, tens of thousands of people a year die in this country from drunk drivers. I don’t believe there’s ever been a person who has died as a result of a flight attendant, who smoked a joint 2 weeks ago on their vacation. If they truly care about public safety, then why do we not have roadside checkpoints that require drivers to get out of their cars with no probable cause and prove that they have not smoked a joint or had a drink? That would save thousands of lives every year. Of course, the American public would not stand for it. For the first year of random testing for crew members they did not even test for alcohol, which frankly was a very big problem in the airline industry. I have been on countless trips with very hung over crewmembers, who are way more intoxicated than someone who smoked a joint on their vacation two weeks ago. So what happened to me? I was tested on day one. Nobody can tell me that was random. I believe they were trying to shut me up. Over the next 31 years, I calculate that I was randomly selected for drug testing more than 10 times. There is absolutely no warning as to when you will be tested. The aircraft pulls up to the gate, and someone with the clipboard will tell you to report for random testing. Frankly, I should have failed their test every time, but did not. Airplanes are as dry as the Sahara desert, so you must remain very hydrated. I never failed the test, but if they had asked, why it appeared that I was trying to subvert their test, I would tell them that I drink a lot of water to stay healthy. It never came up. I never failed. I was always in extremely good shape. Very low body fat. By the way, the number of fat cells in the human body does not change. They grow and they shrink, but the number remains the same. The only way to reduce the number of fat cells in the human body is liposuction, but that just usually makes the remaining fat cells grow larger. I could go on and on, but clearly I have rambled on long enough. If you’ve made it this far, I’m sorry that I dragged it out. I’m gonna go burn one now.

I passed a drug test in 2 weeks after bong smoking 1g/day for 3 years. I always wondered if my metabolism was actually unusual, and it pretty much confirmed that for me. I ran daily and ate few carbohydrates to flush the THC, and then ate like a starving elephant the day before the test to make sure I didn’t utilize any fat stores and put more metabolites in my urine. I can’t vouch for everyone obviously, but I think that’s the best method to dodge one if you have any prep time.

Why do they care what we do on our own time as long we don’t hurt anyone else? It’s not like they tell us we can’t work there because we drink after work. It doesn’t make any sense. Get out of our lives.

I was assigned to be my unit's drug tester when my National Guard unit was deployed to Iraq. I learned all of this in the required training for the duty. We were supposed to test 10% of the unit each month. My CO decided that we would only test soldiers returning from R&R, since that was the most likely time they would be positive. One soldier came to me after returning from R&R back home and told me that he couldn't take the drug test since he smoked while at home. I was a little pissed at him, since everyone was told that they would get tested on return to the unit. However, I told him that I would delay it as long as I could. So I did. My CO was very interested in drug testing , and started questioning me why I hadn't yet tested this particular soldier. I kept making excuses. He's on a patrol and wasn't able to take the test. I'll grab him tomorrow. This went on for a few days until my CO chewed me out and gave me a direct order to test him that same day. I went to him and let him know that the jig was up. Fortunately, I delayed it long enough that he passed.

He is absolutely correct do not exercise before a drug test. I’m 71 days clean I’ve been working out and fasting and I’m still testing positive for cannabis.

I’ve been following this topic the entire month. I’m a PT and Dietitian who smokes regularly. A client asked me to pass the DOT DT to get a contract. I started doing 16H fasting DAILY combined with eating 1200 calories a day (I’m 190lbs) and 800 calories workout daily (400 calories cardio in the AM and 400 weight training in the afternoon). After two weeks I’m clean. This is not for everyone of course. My test is next week and I’m planning to stop completely today to rest for exactly one week and let the body settle down and avoid metabolite breakdown.

Ive read that you only need to worry about this 24h BEFORE the drug test. Otherwise you should workout and working out is fine

I don’t their 99% of people would be intoxicated by the amount of THC in fat. Yes you may get a buzz it may cause you to fail a test. However I wouldn’t call it “intoxicated” as the term is commonly used

Actually, almost 30 years ago. I applied for a job and about a week before I got a call for a drug test to start a job. I smoked a joint and I mixed up a glass of sweet tea and took an empty aspirin bottle and poured it inside the aspirin bottle and let it get down to just above room temperature and I stuck it in my front pocket to make sure it stayed it about body temperature and then when I got to the drug test, I went in the bathroom and pulled the bottle out of my pocket and poured it in the urine cup, and I passed the drug test with flying colors and got the job lol

i have a fast metabolism, this must be why i have brain fog even 2 weeks after quitting, i still almost feel stoned still writing this comment lol... going to make sure i eat super unhealthily and live sedentary for the 3 days before the test

Like you said, I don't understand why employers don't use saliva tests. They are much less invasive. They will catch all drugs like opiates, cocaine, meth in the same window of time as a urinalyses will. I don't get it.

this is absolutely correct! I was a moderate smoker, went clean for 2 weeks, tested negative. Worked out for 2 days, waited 2 more days after the work out and tested positive. The soluble fats blead into my blood stream along with thc and bingo! your hot.

I stopped for 127 day bought at home test kits and I guess they sent it to the lab and got saliva tested and still came out positive…? Baffled here

What if you start exercising and eating healthy with high body fat but still take detox before the drug test?

I’m no medical professional by all means but I think this makes sense. Essentially, when THC metabolizes after exercise into your bloodstream, it will have to pass through the urinary tract from the kidneys. This will cause THC cells to be released from the body which would be bad for a urinalysis but good if you know you have a urinalysis and time to get clean. Exercising will not cause it to leave your body faster but it does help remove it basically. Again only good while you have the time. The sad part though is the possibility of any dormant THC cells. I’m about 6’1 - 6’2 and i only weigh maybe 167 lbs. I used a self testing kit from Walgreens for $20 and i had a faint line after 15 days of no smoking. I would smoke maybe 1-2 times a week but it would be a few hits of a blunt or one blinker off of a cart which contained about 2000 mgs. My urinalysis is in 20 days so hopefully i am completely detoxed by then. At least now i know to not do any exercising a week before my screening just to be safe and obviously don’t smoke anything.

I use the Walgreen take home test 1st, to see if I will pass before the test, I only use THCV.

And when you do home test you have to get the drug test that test you at 15ng not the 50ng level for DOT

Cranberry and water , plus vit c ascorbic acid “powder” have worked for me and diluted test but my pee kept the yellow color instead of clear , 1-1/2 gallon a day 3 days , then on 3rd day add apple cider vinegar about 3-4 shot glass type then get tested , nasty but worked

It’s a parts per million type of test. So if you can get below that threshold, you’re clean. One way to do that is to drink plenty of water before the test to dilute your urine. Never pee test your first pee from sleeping all night! Take a vitamin B-2 pill before so your urine is yellow. The more expensive tests test for dilution, so be ready to take over, but I’m not sure how common these more expensive tests are. Also eat an easy to digest meal well before your test so that your body is getting its energy from the food you just ate and not from stored fat cells. Don’t fast before your test!

This video needs a very important disclaimer, and I don’t understand why this guy wouldn’t cover it. Exercising is fine, actually it’s great, for ridding yourself of metabolites more quickly. The caveat is that you need a buffer period before your test in order to clear out all the extra metabolites in your system. So if you’re in a situation where you could have a drug test sprung on you at any moment without warning, then exercise is a dangerous tool. Otherwise, you’ll be fine. Just make sure you stop exercising about 3-7 days before your test.

I'm no dr but i guess the point would be to exercise as much as possible, stop 3 days before the test and make sure during those 3 days you NEVER let your body go into ketosis. if this is true then a sports supplement drink with a multivitamin will be your best friend during those 3 days

Good video however your drug testing strips that you recommended test down to 50 ng of marijuana and if you’re doing a DOT drug test they test down to 5 ng so you may pass the over-the-counter drug test but you definitely will not pass a lab drug test testing down to 5 ng

Why not just legalize it on the federal level and call it a day? It'd be less of a headac. just because you have it in your system does not mean you're intoxicated.
