The #1 Trick to Troubleshooting Layouts in FlutterFlow 

This is fairly confusing. The flutter dev team made this far more complicated than necessary. It actually forces more constraints on layout. React native makes this so much simpler. I’ve found the alignment bars in FF can also be a little temperamental. It’s definitely frustrating if you don’t understand the flutter alignment system. Maybe a pop up that explains why the alignment tool doesn’t move an element would be handy for new users. Seen many comments where new users think that the alignment tool doesn’t do anything because they’ve slide the slider and nothing seems to happen regardless of which widget on the tree the try. Containers are a pain in the α_ś to use.

FlutterFlow is a game changer. However, the price should be lowered to an end user like me... You guys should include more functionalities in a lower-tier plan and limit the number of projects.

Very helpful for sure, thank you. But looks to be a fundamental thing that should be understood as early as possible tutorials-wise, before all the bells and whistles and cool stuff.

Can you do a quick video showing how to deal with container heights or tab widget heights and dynamic content. For example if you have content with conditional visibility like text or a Tex input widget that appears if a switch/check box is selected. Or if you use the tab widget and have different quantities of information on each tab. When you select a new tab that section should “grow or shrink” based on its content. I don’t quite understand this so I just make my containers and tabs extra tall to handle it. I’m not sure with containers what the difference is between hight and max hight because the UI always reverts to the max hight if a delta is set between the two.

Hmm. When you do a trouble shooting tutorial remember to walk us through the issue to resolution. IE: if user wants to align to centre, and you have this layout, do X Y Z.

As mentioned in flutter conference that all premium features is free for students and educators but when i signed up from my .edu mail but all premium features is chargeable how to contact support?

Ah it makes sense like this. 1. The parent sets the position, the alignment / position, 2. the child inherits the constraints from the parent and sets the sizing within the constraints given to it. They make more sense like this

why isn't it simply drag-and-drop placement like in Figma?

Maybe FF could link the horizontal alignment setting in children, disabling it and displaying a note: "alignment is set from the parent element". Who would think pressing a "align" button in Word or Figma resulting in changing the document height and not align would make sense needs to be fired. Google engineering at its best...

I've watched all your layout videos and can never get the right combination of settings in a complex interface to behave correctly. The two issues that keep coming up are: 1. Overflow issue that I can't figure out how to prevent while also making my components behave as desired (yesi watched the overflow video) 2. Scrolling issues where I want a list to expand all the way so I can scroll the page itself instead of the column that contains it. There are always nested columns and containers and what I think the settings should be produces an error about some conflict or the scroll only happens inside the wrong component or it doesn't expand to fill the content. Please make a video on troubleshooting these issues in complex layouts, not simple ones.
