Here is the detailed story Hiranyakasipu was the brother of Hiranyaksha, the demon who was killed by Vishnu's 3rd Avatar. He wanted to avenge his brother's death. He did great penance and asked the God Brahma (the Creator) for immortality but it was denied. Brahma said he may ask for restriction of the ways of his death instead. Hiranyakashipu cunningly asked for a boon that he may not be killed : 1.Either by a man or an Animal or God or Demon etc 2. He may not be killed inside or outside the house. 3. He may not be killed at daytime or at night. 4. He may not be killed using a live(living) object or a dead(non-living) object. 5. He may not be killed on the ground or in the sky. When he was doing penance his pregnant wife was told the stories of Lord Vishnu because of which his son, Prahlad became an ardent devotee of Vishnu. Coming back from penance he created a havoc around the world and declared himself as God and asked everyone to worship him. Those who denied were killed. But his son always chanted the name of Vishnu. Hiranyakashipu tried his best to persuade his son but he failed. Then he decided to kill his own son. He used many ways but Vishnu saved him every time. Then he ordered his sister Holika to kill his son. Holika had a magic cloak which does not catch fire. So he wore it and took Prahlad in her lap and sat on a pyre. But due to Prahlad's devotion he was unhurt. As a punishment for Holika the magic cloak couldn't protect Holika and she burnt to ashes (Every year 'Holika Dahan' - The burning of Holika is performed. The next day is celebrated as 'Holi' - The festival of Colors). After his sister's death, Hiranyakashipu was very angry and asked Prahlad where his Vishnu was for which Prahlad replied Vishnu is everywhere. Even in this pillar. Hearing this the angry Hiranyakashipu broke the pillar from which 'Narasimha' emerged. After battling and defeating Hiranyakashipu he took him to the threshold of the entrance of the house and put him on his lap and tore his stomach to kill him. 1. Narasimha is an amalgamation of Man and Lion - Not a man and not an animal. 2. He was killed on the threshold of the entrance - Neither inside nor outside. 3. He killed him at Evening - Not daytime or night time. 4. He killed him with his claws - It's living since it grows but its tip is a dead part. So, neither living nor non-living. 5. He was killed on the lap of Narasimha - Not on the ground nor in the sky.

1.) the disc is the Sudharsan Chakra and the most overpowered ability. if Lord Vishnu wishes he can send it to kill someone specifically and no matter what that target does it will chase them to even the ends of the universe and kill them. 2.) the story of Lord Narshimha was missing a major detail and that was the specificity of Hiranyakashyap"s boon. He cannot be killed by a man or beast, inside nor out of any building and neither at night nor day so Lord Vishnu took a hybrid form of a beat and man, killed him on a terrace that wasn't inside the castle but was still apart of the building so not outside either and slayed him at dusk which is neither day nor night. these details make the event more impactful and show clever Lord Vishnu is at finding solutions. 3.) During the swayamvar of Lord Rama and Ma Sita he was supposed to lift and string a bow that belonged to lord Shiva given to king Janak, Ma Sita's father. The bow being of divine caliber was near impossible for those not divine or very blessed to lift so all failed until Lord Ram tried and not only lifted it but broke it trying to sting it. this was where two avatars of Lord Vishnu met because Lord Parashuram stormed into the venue pissed that the bow was destroyed eager to kill the one responsible but when he realised it was Lord Rama his whole demure changed to calm and devoted recognising that Lord Rama is Lord Vishnu. 4.) Lord Rama was actually told by Ravan's own brother to aim not for the heart but navel because Ravan has had some nectar of immortality and by aiming there it'll kill him. this detail is important because this brother was crowned king of Lanka by Lord Hanuman since Lord Rama's was forbidden to enter any palace but he was blessed by Lord Rama with immortality along with Lord Hanuman to help him in his Kalki avatar. 5.) sadly we have more than a million years before Lord Kalki comes because all sense of right, justice and morals need to be severely corrupted, disease needs to be everywhere and the land will tainted by war reducing fertility. then is when he'd come to set us back on track and to be honest i perfer living in this era than that one because how much worse it would be.

If you're interested in the Ramayan as a story, may I suggest the english language adaptation and novelisation by the Indian author Ashok K Banker. Its not a true translation of the Ramayan, but treats it like an epic story split into 7 novels. That was my first introduction and really helped solidify a lot of the characters etc involved so then i could delve int the proper translations with more of an understanding of what is going on.

There's a new indian movie released recently titled "Kalki 2898 A.D". It's based off of the tenth and final avatar of vishnu as said in this video and also show us how it might be at the end of kali yuga. There's part 2 of the movie too and it supposedly concludes the story. Might be fun to consider watching/doing a movie reaction video but keep in mind that it's not educational or very accurate as it's still "based" on the scriptures and obviously is an "artistic rendition" - so to speak; just a cool sci-fi movie so you can learn a bit more about the 'Hindu mythology' and put whatever you've learned so far about hinduism.
