Syndicate and Unity have the best assassination missions in my opinion. Felt so amazing to sneak into Lambeth Asylum, Tower of London and Notre Dame. Memorable moments I will never forget.

Does anyone else notice how all the best ASSASSINATION missions are in the earlier, non-RPG, ASSASSIN's Creed games?

AC Syndicate was so underrated. Fun brother/sister characters, good gameplay, great missions, and cool setting

Pitcairn’s assassination was fun, running through the battlefield to get to him, but the best target for me was Thomas Hickey - particularly during his confession.

The fact that there is no sign of the last 3 games of this franchise shows the history of assassin's creed perfectly

It pissed me off that in Syndicate you can clearly see both Evie and Jacob using the second hidden blade with right hand in cutscenes, but in the gameplay there is only one on the left hand.

It's not quire a stealth mission, but there's something epic about the assassination of Abbas in revelations particularly the unexpected use of the Hidden Gun. It just makes you feel the sheer respect Altair commands.

Man, I mean… they can have their RPG’s and their fighting in their games.. but give us stealth and assassinations also! The list is awesome btw, great job!

From a purely gameplay perspective, the best assassinations were in Unity and Syndicate.

Where is the Uberto Alberti? Where is the Ezio's first assassination? Where is the first place the legend began? "THE AUDITORE ARE NOT DEAD. I AM STILL HERE. ME. EZIO. EZIO AUDITORE"

Don't forget that in order to get to Pitcairn, Connor had to run through an entire battlefield first. Epic and so rewarding once you kill him!

Unity and Syndicate may not have been the most notable entries in the series, but there’s no denying that the unique assassination sequences were EPIC.

I can't believe you forgot or don't considered the assessination of Carlo Grimaldi in AC II. The only mission you entered on Ducal's Palace and use the Leonardo's flight machine.

This video just made me want to play the older games more. This is what AC meant to me. Epic set piece actions and hunting targets. Now it's hunting high level underwear to hit enemies harder.

Julien Du Casse deserves the No. 1 spot in my book because his last words, “May the Hell you find be of your own making”, do in fact come back to haunt Edward later. He watches as Blackbeard is killed, he’s marooned with Charles Vane & has to fight for survival, etc etc. Kenway watches most of his allies defect & betray him, or die by enemy hands. Du Casse’s death hits hard.

I think Sibrand was the most memorable in AC1, jumping boat to boat until you reach him from behind was so satisfying

Original AC had the best actual assassin missions. Wish they would do a remake for the modern consoles, but most players seem to want more action oriented mercenaries instead of true assassin stealth play. In the original AC you couldn’t run without raising suspicion, you had to pick pocket for weapons, and the guards would chase you back to the other side of the city so you’d have to start all over. That was truly about stealth and patience to get a kill.

I absolutely love those kinds special assassination missions where u can like plan it and get help and have like unique ways to kill the target

I would have put Bayek’s assassination of Medunamun on here, sets a chilling tone of revenge and torment throughout the rest of game’s assassinations. It may not be required as stealth, but you certainly have the option to make it stealth.

I was surprised that Carlo grimaldis assassination was not on the list with the whole flying machine sequence. Can't get them all i sopose

Connor Kenway's mission was one of the best and most satisfying mission.

My favorite Assassination missions in this franchise is a toss up between taking out the Banker in AC: Brotherhood and taking out Woodes Rodgers from AC: Black Flag. Why. Because both allow me to do a Bench Assassination. So few missions in this franchise allow one to do that.

That mental asylum assassination was my favorite. I had low exceptions for Syndicate, but it ended up being one of my favorites. I’m going thru Origins right now and it’s a good game, but the assassination missions just don’t have that artistic cinematic flair

Nothing compares to AC 1 AND EZio s triology...best

Most of the fo the 9 targets in AC 1 can be killed with stealth and some of them are more challenging and more elaborated than Anul Nuquc and Jubair, like Maj Addim for example, where you have to blend in with some scholars to infiltrate on the scaffold and wait 'till the very moment you can land the blow

At least they do it with style.

My favorite would probably be Rogers'. He technically survived that one, but infiltrating his party, maybe mingling with his guest, then just waiting for his pretty funny rant to finish as he walks by you feels pretty great, especially considering all the pains in the ass he caused earlier in the game. Runner up would be Roth's, if only for the sheer spectacle of it.

My favs were the ones where you have to infiltrate a giant building and find your assassination target.

The one in syndicate where u sneak into a bank and stab the guy the painting is one of the more memorable ones for me

Origins is a good change, still true to the source material, and it had a focus on key assassinations. Odyssey and Valhalla are what messed things up. Really, ubisoft should have kept layla out of origins, and used origins as an ending to the trilogy unity and syndicate would have been part of, allowing players to defeat juno at the end of origins, via an animus boss fight or something. Then old fans wouldn't feel so cheated out of the ending of the story, and origins was pretty similar to syndicate/unity in terms of level design anyway, not to mention unity syndicate and origins all progressively got more level ups and more skills in the skill tree. So they were already games containing RPG elemnts. Odyssey onwards are a different genre tho, as dialogue tress, multiple endings, and a shift away from focus on assassinations is what ruined the new games for many fans. Also odyssey and Valhalla have conflicting lore to origins backwards... Ubisoft should have introduced layla in odyssey and treated odyssey and Valhalla as what they are. Different. Still, ubisoft shouldn't abandon old fans who got them where they are today, but what I've written seems a fairer solution, then what we have now.

For the black flag one, I just ran across the town, dock and climbed on the ship as fast as I could. Ran across the deck of the ship and put 2 swords in his chest. I speedrunned that kill

From the og assassin's creed you could have put robert's assassination but yeah its not stealth but robert's line when he died was iconic.

Technically in the Jubair section as you do missions around the city before you do the Templar hunt they will give you clues as to how to illuminate certain locations for example he's the only one that wears a golden pouch so you don't have to eliminate all of them just say

"Boss fights don't count" and thats how you make content

Three honourable mentions could be done. Haytham Kenways first kill in Ac3 thru the seat as he says “For what it’s worth, I am sorry.” Jacob Frye’s iconic “Oh, shut up.” Assassination Connor killing Haytham Kenway. “Don’t expect me to caress your cheek and say how wrong I was. I’m sure you understand. Still, I’m proud of you in a way.”

I'm currently playing unity or 3 and unity got best assassination or parkour

What about gorm from Valhalla, you have to go to a separate island with new gear exclusive to the island and you have to look for him in different camps

the banker in brother good was a very good mission. the setting of run down rome in a party and clearing out areas on the roof to get a good angle on him.

What about Charles Lee in AC3? Is it the most complex mission, maybe not, but chasing him through the burning building, chasing him through crowded streets dodging guards. and the ending felt soo satisfying, having Lee allow Connor to kill him after sharing a drink right before his death. And we meet Lee way at the beginning of the game, and we try to find Lee throughout the entire game. AC3 isn't the best game IMO, but that last mission actually made me feel bad for Lee.

i actually just used eagle vision to find jubiar and not go through the pain killing all his men

There's actually a pretty cool thing you can do during the mission to kill Julien Du Cass, so if you go to the right side of the town, you can find a shed full of explosives, and then you just have to light one thing and the entire shed blows to bits and literally everyone is distracted

I definitely really enjoy the new RPG style AC games, but I feel they should have been a side thing where stealth is more of a choice. Syndicate was the first AC game I played and the unique stealth assassin stuff was just amazing to me.

Ac unity is amazing for assassination missions because it was so diverse and u could approach them however u wanted with distractions and unique kills

The Micheletto assassination is my favourite just for the eyeful you get of Ezio's undies. 👍

My personal favorite games to replay are the Colonial trilogy(3, Black Flag, and Rogue)

Despite me hating the fighting mechanics of Syndicate, they've got the coolest optional stealth kill and Unity has a few of that too like killing the fatso Sivert in a confessional XD

The unique kills concept the new HITMAN trilogy took to a next level. I know HITMAN Games came First.

You know when the list is a really good one made by someone who played the games? When Jubair is in the list, my favourite killing in the game.

Du Casse was so annoying. The amount of times I came so close, only to just miss and air assassinate the person next to him is embarrassing

Hanging that dude with his underwear should have been number 1 bc its my fav ever since i played ac 2🤣

Never mind the fact that ubisoft just copied themselves in Valhalla with the Firebrand cultist in Jorvik, she was doing the exact same thing as Jubair in AC 1, burning texts, threw the priest into the fire for arguing, and had look alikes that you had to pick through to find the right one 🥴

The last assassins creed games that had a perfect balance of rpg and assassinations was Unity and or maybe syndicate

The AC franchise was riding high before the recent RPG trilogy. I would say even Origins was somewhat assignation based. I miss the old days when you were an assasin before anything else

For Sivert, I never got the confessional kill notification under the objective. is it a skill you need to purchase or did I just miss it because I was focused on the challenges?

i stopped getting the new assassins creed games because they turned to rpg so till this day i only play up to unity

I still play all the Assassin Creed games but haven't loved the series since Syndicate

AC I, II and Unity had the best Assassinations.

I think all game franchises go through times where they are good and amazing and then they change something or the story direction and mechanics and sometimes it doesn't work. For me I love the first four games (1,2, brothehood and revelations which is my fav). I get what ppl say they after them the game changes and I see it. They lost direction and the story becomes distorted and twisted. I did enjoy black flag however but not unity. Just felt that unity didn't do itself justice even though I enjoyed the graphics after they updated them and fixed the bugs. Syndicate I really did enjoy and I really liked the way the story was executed. The only think o didn't enjoy was the system where you had to recruit ppl into the "rooks". I have to say though o really did enjoy origins. It was different and I get that it is different from the earlier games but imo if something is to survive change is needed and they wanted to go in a different direction. Was it the right one? In some ways yes in some no. I enjoyed the game cos it was something different and I enjoyed it. Odyssey nsm cos to me odyssey felt more like it was trying to be no than was it is. It was like it was trying to be something that it wasn't mean to be and the characters felt clunky and had no development in them. It's the only ac game I haven't played and I won't. Valhalla I have to say though has changed my opinion. I really enjoy the game and have completed it twice. It's definitely a vast improvement over odyssey and origins but the only problem I have is the character selection. With odyssey made sense in a small way. But to me eivior is male and should of stayed a male. They could have made the female character apart of the story. But overall it's probably my second favourite game.
