I agree, the tomorrow war for streaming was the best atmos and action movie of the year. I hope it comes out on 4k blu ray. Still waiting for Dune 4k to come in.

I tried playing this thru my Sony Blu-ray player and it would not stream Atmos. What is the secret for Atmos and Amazon Prime?

@@johnlloyd3855 you have to go into your streaming devices and make sure it is set for Atmos, probably the blue ray player that not set probably for audio, I am streaming with a Nvidia shield pro and they are some audio and video settings to do out of the box for audio format and 4k hdr video to get the best of both worlds. You will have to do some surching into your sony blue ray player if it's capable on streaming to due Atmos. You should get a real streaming devices for streaming content and not a blue ray player. The Nvidia shield pro or Apple tv 4k .

Great list! Just what I was looking for. I just watched A Quiet Place 2 and was a little underwhelmed, and I loved the first movie's 4K Blu-ray track (it''s my No. 1 disc). I might have to watch The Tomorrow War again now that I have Atmos speakers (5.1.2).

I saw and own all but two and that is Choas walking and Dune. I saw the first one and never saw the whole thing. Something is wrong with my Atmos because I have ti hooked up but no sound comes out. I saw a old movie that had a good surround mix and that was Superman Returns

I really can’t stand most of these CGI heavy blockbuster type films like Suicide Squad, Resident Evil, most of the marvel films, even No Time To Die. Could you review the sound mix of quality older re-issued TV series and movies? Does The Book of Boba Fett have a good sound mix? I really liked the first episode.

Great review, it looks like I'll be missing out on so many movies now, that streaming has shat on media discs with real content, and streaming services like Netflix or Disney want to be so greed driven and only releasing their movies through their own streaming services, which means one has to subscribe to how many services????, just so you can watch a movie, it's a F&(€en joke, plus streaming here in Australia sucks, unless it's released on blu-ray or 4k disc, I guess I won't be seeing them, whilst going to cinema at the moment, is like playing Russian roulette with covid-19, that's even if a movie makes into a cinema, so how many people out there in this same boat, that aren't going to see certain movies because of the greed of streaming services, it's their own profits they'll be missing out on by not releasing movies on discs, I miss the days of going to a DVD store and hiring a few movies, at least there one had a choice of all movies being released, even b rated movies or worse, I've missed out on so many movies already because of how things have gone with the internet and streaming bullshit, I love movies, I own a full on 4k 7.4.4 dedicated set up, with over 60 4k movies disc's in my collection, plus 30 odd blu-ray movie disc's and some DVD movies, so unless a movie is released on disc, I won't be seeing it.

In my mind "Nobody" is also playing a BIG role in the movie-list with this focus. It is missing in your list without a doubt. It's also very high in the top movie list over all. :) What about Zack Snyder's Justice League, Shang-Chi, Mortal Kombat or Killer's Bodyguard 2 ? Some relativly nice soundtracks, too although I nearly only use the big auromatic layout. I often switch between the two layouts and absolutely always land at the auromatic. Twister from Turbine is extremly well executed for native Atmos as well as native Auro 3D on two sepearate discs for the soundtrack. It's also a must on this list. They also reworked Daylight and Dragonheart in the same way and usually execute it really well. Have "Old" and "Venom - Let there be carnage" lying here but not seen till now. Both also with an Atmos soundtrack. I don't know... maybe for this list, too. Dune is also my No.1 on this list... it's dynamic as well as fine and fast, atmospheric, punshy, all those frequences... they made a lot of things really nice. A great movie over all. Greetings

1)Justice League: Definitely. Surprised its not in here (would have switched it with Free guy). 2)Shang-Chi: NOPE. After listening to the 4K Blu ray Atmos and Disney plus Atmos, its just another victim of Disney's mistreatment of audio on home media. 3)Mortal Kombat: Sounds good, but felt it could have been better with the dynamic range and bass.

Having Gene there is as much use as having Gordon Ramsay there to talk about movies and sound.. need some one with a attitude and love for it as yourself, your reviews are some of the best on here, some good choices there maybe not streams so much as they aren't as good as physical disc, few other great titles gone a miss.. but great review none the less

Why are you calling these "best audio" when none of the titles you mentioned use the highest audio standard: DTS-X. You should've included: Battleship Bourne (series of films w/ Matt Damon) Serenity Harry Potter series How to Train Your Dragon (1&2) Fast & Furious 6, 7, & perhaps all of them Lone Survivor

Gene if you taught the first suicide squad was bad then you are in for a major treat with the second one. I highly recommend you watch it! 🤭🤭🤭 Wow! Yes I bought Dolby atmos SVS height speakers to listen tosounds like Crickets ...wind 😂. So far not impressed with Atmos because nothing much comes out. I tested my 4k disks with only height Atmos speakers turned on. Justice League, Dunkirk, Dune didnt notice much sound it was more ambience and I got better performance with 3D Auro which out performs Atmos. Justice League Atmos heights was disappointing no sound at all during many key battle scene's. Dune was OK while Dunkirk also had very poor Atmos mix.

Dunkirk is only 5.1 so that was a bad pick for testing Atmos. Justice league also not very good. Dune should have a lot of good subtle and not so subtle height effects. If you want your heights to be active all the time your better off with all channel stereo. Heights shouldn't be on the entire time. It can be tiresome after a while.

@@therealshanelee I should have checked the reviews because Dunkirk i guess was a bad choice to test my heights. Though However on my 4K disk box it did have the Atmos label. Dune does have good height Atmos, probably best i so far experienced. It just a shame how Justice Legue was such missed opportunity.

Could Gene be any more negative. Does he realize this is a video for sound and not movie quality. Also, he hasn't seen anything. Any movie collector will make a purchase that is not really a good quality movie but has exceptional video and/or audio. I never make a purchase on a Rotten Tomatoes rating. Always love watching these, always love Spare Change, Appreciate Audioholics but Gene seems like he is a bitter person and is like the angry neighbor that doesn't like anything but what he likes and would keep the balls that kids kick into his yard. lol hopefully he's a cool guy in RL though...very helpful for speakers/subs though. ;)

What is so important Dolby atmos or a good movie ? Expect one or two titles most of these American movies never does history ! So a great film with a good simple Dolby Digital can be so great.. most of people use always DVD then Dolby Almos……
