I looked it up and she has a couple...not many but she only has developed 7 movies so far...from the article I read: "Portman’s company, Handsomecharlie Films, has participated in seven completed films to date, including the romcom No Strings Attached and the thriller Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Portman’s A Tale of Love and Darkness is the only female-directed film on its list, while Lynne Ramsay left Jane Got a Gun and was replaced by Gavin O’Connor. “I have had the experience a few times of helping get female directors hired on projects which they were then forced out of because of the conditions they faced at work,” Portman said. “After they are made, female-directed films face difficulty getting into festivals, getting distribution and getting accolades because of the gatekeepers at every level. So I want to say, I have tried, and I will keep trying. While I have not yet been successful, I am hopeful that we are stepping into a new day.”

I dont know what it is with racism. If a white actor deserves it more than a black actor then the white actor should get recognised. And not to mention if all the wonderful performances of this year were done by whites then nobody can help it. Black actors like denzel Washington or sidney poitier are very rare nowadays. And this years favourite performances couldn't have been played by any black actor. Oscar should always recognise talent and not colour. And the fact that a non-english korean film won the best picture is a record

Because 99.9% of the men wear a tuxedo/ suit with little to no variation. Only "man" that was focused on was Billy who looked hideous in his "look at me" extremely ugly costume!

Sol Alcaraz these r supposed to be in best category. Imagine how the worst dressed would be.. my non designer cheap store bought clothes look better than these. People are turning nuts with designer and fashion. Some outfits are ridiculous
