My daughter thought she would enjoy Savannah. She’s been there two years and is ready to move back home. Hates the traffic. She lived in Valdosta for 7 years in between leaving home and moving to Savannah.
This video feels awfully stacked in favor of the city and our biggest tourist towns( Athens, Augusta, and savannah) , while completely leaving out us up here in the north GA mountains- not everyone wants to live in the city or all the tourists 🤷🏻♀️
I guess they are highlighting places where you can find a good job and affordability. The North GA mountains wouldn't be an ideal place for someone just starting out.
Georgia is a wonderful state. I lived in Atlanta for 55_ 60 years. I managed the Sweet Auburn Curb Market and walked to work with a couple of the guys that worked in Market. I cannot say enough good things about Atlanta.
Gwinnett county schools, Suwanee ga is best place to live. Buford is nice as well. flowery branch which is also nice if you like to drive alittle ways like 15 min to stores.
All you people from Georgia complaining about Georgia, yall make me laugh. Go live in Chicago Illinois for a month you'll run back to Atlanta. I live in Buford/ Sugar Hill and its paradise compared to where I lived. You guys slay me..
I am from Atlanta ga lived in Roswell/ Alpharetta 35 yrs born at north side hospital went to school there a lot of friends there I moved now I live in Sarasota fl best move ever Atlanta ga will always be home and my dirt
Newnan, I would say should be on there. With the Film Industry coming through over the last 10 years or so, it has funded many new parks, a Skatepark, splash Pads, Linc trail, much more. Also, Cancer Treatment Center of America is here & just recently opened is an Amazin Warehouse. In Downtown Newnan tgere is numerous thriving local businesses, Market Days on the square & an extension of University of West GA at the old Hospital. There are Museums & the House Median for a new home is 300k plus
yes!!! Newnan and senoia are near each other and are very low crime rate with decently paying jobs its just in senoia there are more expensive houses than cheap but they still have them out there
Right on money other smaller towns that would be good for people to move to would be like in Gwinnett county Buford Suwanneeand Lawrenceville Enough where I live the pretty small towns that get forgotten in a lot of these lists are like coming Jasper ellijay blue ridge were the people who get forgotten on any list but we're good community up here in the north and good places to live for is visitors especially come through a lot it's more of a retirees when you move north where is if you move South the middle you're getting more of the middle class you move out towards Decatur and places like that you're moving more in the upper class Murrieta upper class like areas so you just have to pick what's best for your situation like I said before and I said again I live in Jasper because of my income and it suits me based on my needs of what I wanted so that's why I chose Jasper out of all the towns in Georgia to move to
Hello nice to meet you how are you doing today how is the weather over there you really look so nice on your profile how is your family hope they are fine?🌹🌹🌹
You said despite the urban population. So explain how NYC with 8 million people living there is named one of the safest largest cities in the United States? Atlanta just has politicians that don't care about making the City safer and better for its residents and visitors.

You need to show videos in Georgia where apartments are priced low for the older population and have all the things that older people need to retire. Hospitals, doctors, grocery stores, drugstores, safety, walkability. People are living over 50 up to their 90’s. PLEASE 🙏
I'm from GA. Trust me you do not want too live in ATL. It's a war zone. Homeless, drug addicts, super high murder, armed robbery! All points north are great. Just stay away from ATL and South ATL.
Alpharetta/Milton/ Johns creek all great places, but very expensive. North GA Mountains is one of the most beautiful places in the state, Hiawassee ect.
Don’t know if you live in Georgia. There are two parts of Decatur. One is unincorporated which is next to Lithonia and Stone Mountain (not the best places to live but got some hidden gems). The other is the actual city (which I think he is talking about) that is next to Avondale Estates and east part of Atlanta. What he said is true but it is very expensive, and because nothing is too far and try to keep everything in their little communities, they have a problem with congestion.
@@bigdinlaca you right, I have heard be careful while driving to Decatur. However, my my was blown away while I was in East Atlsnta side of Decatur. Beautiful houses and landscapes, the area are clean and safe,so people are so nice!
I laughed at this video also. I live in Gainesville, it's bad here as well but you couldn't beat the crap out of me to go further south of Gainesville. Moving back to Maynooth Canada in a year.
atlanta is AWFUL.. worst places I have ever lived. over populated, over priced, over hyped, terrible rude overzealous drivers, high poverty and I could go on
This person has obviously never lived in the State... Duluth is bad, Decatur is bad, cost of living is high in Alpharetta, Milton, John's Creek. I live in East Cobb and can't wait to move out of the area. Great to visit, however not my choice. Family is here, so we are here... can't wait to GTFO.
Great advert for ATL suburbs. Good way to kee outsiders out of the good parts of the state. Augusta, savannah should be left off this list so they don’t get spoiled by Californians, Oregonians and New Yorkers
@@althiranellum4908 There has always been traffic yes however transplants drive like maniacs....2 years ago Saturdays you could get in and out of the city... not anymore traffic EVERYDAY even in the suburban areas. It has been an influx of transplants who packed up and moved when their jobs went remote. Ask any realtor who they are selling most of their properties to over the past 2 years.
Not all areas that have good schools and low crime rates are in rich areas. Not everyone that lives in Duluth and Decatur are rich. A lot of people that live in those two suburbs are middle class and some are working class residents to.
EXACTLY and did you see any black folk shown? I saw ONE! I live in Augusta where 50 percent is black and Georgia has a lot of blacks and they were def not represented here
Poverty breeds crime. I wouldn’t steel a loaf of bread if I can afford to buy it. Good schools because the rich neighborhoods pay more taxes for those schools
As someone who has lived in the Atlanta area for 25 years, I can say Atlanta is a great place to live, if you don't mind being murdered or robbed and spending a large portion of your life in your car getting anywhere, and being subject to a corrupt government including mayor and DA and being without water when the watermanes burst. The best places to live in Georgia were not on this list. They are in the beautiful more northern scenic mountain areas. while some of these suburbs are nice, I currently live in one, they don't have a good work/life balance for people and it makes a lot of people mean and nasty and overly aggresive driving. People live here for work, not because they want to.
I lived in Conyers, GA in the 90s. I loved it! The weather was great in Atlanta area. I never went to Atlanta because of the traffic. Conyers is 20 miles away but then it took 2 hrs to get to Atlanta. I did go to Norcross area a lot. The Northlake mall was nice in 90s. I have not been back since I moved to Kentucky. ( only because it was cheaper)
@@fathimahassam.1278 I have not been to Norcross, GA since 1995. Back then it was a nice place to live. That was before inflation hit. Not sure now! I lived close to Liburn/ Tucker area. My mailing address was Norcross. I would Say I really was in Lilburn area. Kids went to Lilburn schools. Rent then was $525 for a 2 bedroom deplex. I am sure it has doubled that now. Prices are crazy now even in Kentucky. Cost you $800 to $1,000 here now. .
I’m from North North Georgia and I don’t understand why you all think Atlanta is the wonderful place and cities out from there. Maybe you should come to the north Georgia mountains.
Georgia's political scene is always stuffing their pockets with good people's money and not helping with the high crime rate or bad economics of the state. I know this because I used to live there. BEST ADVICE DON'T MOVE THERE.
My first investment with Mrs Jane gave me profit of over $24,000 us dollars and ever since then she has never failed to deliver and I can even say she's the most sincere broker I have known
@@user-hf3eb8lj5g It is expensive and cheap. There are pockets of ghettos/crime and pockets of super expensive abodes. Everything is more expensive there than further out, just like any big city. Those posh areas like Milton and Johns Creek are all expensive and exclusive.
I love Georgia and live in Augusta, couple of observations are in order, nice formatted video but caters to the big income earners here in Augusta and in the places mentioned, people struggle, nice glossy video I drive school bus and yes the cost of living is lower here than other states and places I lived. My house was cheap but it is in the hood, and I am doing a complete remodel on it... but for the towns where 93k is the average, wow, must be all big tech jobs how do the service people make it there??
i worked in Augusta for 8mon and it was amazing, people are so nice! and i miss them! they are waiting for me to get a contract again and because if them ill do it soonest again!
Cant blame him, people are ignorant in Georgia blasting their rap music 🎶 in their car for like 3o minutes, and not respecting their neighborhood. They even do it a at night time, midnight, 3 am , 6 am, they don’t care...And trash everywhere, i seem people throw their garbage 🗑 in Walmart parking lot, there’s trash in the streets, stores parking lots, glass bottles in parking lots for people can get flat tire.
By choosing Atlanta seems you've chose the busiest not the best (in my opinion). Not everyone wants to retire to a city... In fact it's usually the opposite.
Good list and I especially agree with #1. Others to consider - Clayton (City of). Saint Simons Island, Dahlonega, CummIng, Suwanee, Thomasville, Canton, Woodstock, Hiawase, Milledgeville and Watkinsville.
Cumming is overcrowded and traffic is horrible and things are still spread out still that need a car. Clayton sucks all together, Lawrence to overcrowded and traffic horrible, Canton starting to get overcrowded, hiawasse is nice but people drive on your ass to far for me but beautiful.woodstock is okay not all of that.
@jim marshall me too I lived in Ellijay for about 3 years an jasper untill my husband passed away an my kids didn't want me so far away from them so I moved back to my home town Rome Ga it nice here to but I miss my friends only get ro see them about every few months but my heart is in Ellijay an jasper
LOL Atlanta murder rate has more than doubled in the last 2 years. As for Savannah, It's hard to find a fast food restaurant that you can go into because nobody wants to work here. Most restaurants are working on limited staff. As far as P'tree city, all the pictures and video they showed isn't P'tree city at all. P'tree city is a very small city that never planned on it's growth and is a PITA to get around early in the morning and at the time people are getting off work. You'll spend 30+ mins getting from Fayetteville to P'tree city at those hours and they are only a few miles apart.
As someone who has lived here for over half my life, this video only started to make sense when you got to number 3 on the list. And go figure, the top 3 on the list are all directly next to each other.
I will go to cities in Georgia such as Atlanta, Macon, Augusta, Columbus, Savannah and more! Georgia cities has lots of 4 seasons My favorite state is Georgia!!🇮🇶
@@leonation89 Macon is located in Bibb County, Augusta is located in Richmond County, and Columbus is located in Muscogee County. Macon is the 4th largest city,Augusta is the 3rd largest city, and Columbus is the 2nd largest city in Georgia 🇮🇶
Habersham County with Clarkesville being the number two best retirement spot has become the number one meth market & no matter how many times I’ve reported one meth dealer he continues to be allowed to sell, so it’s safe to say that organized crime lives here so please think twice if your thinking about Clarkesville Ga, just a love filled warning
@@San-uv9ue Savannah is okay, it has nice restaurants and places to visit. Like River street. It's beautiful on river street when you get to see the sun set over the river. If you're going for education, it's a nice place to go. I've graduated from Georgia Southern with 2 degrees. But the campus there was originally Armstrong before they merged, I was sad about that because I really wanted to graduate from Armstrong but SCAD, is a great college to get a Artistic degree. There's also Savannah Tech.....but Savannah can be very dangerous, Ive gotten emails about shootings and all kind of stuff....but that's like any place that you'll go to, so be careful of the hoods that you visit. Because there are some areas in Savannah that is straight GANGSTER!!!!! But Savannah have nice clubs, like 51 degrees, Elan, Frozen Paradise etc., so if you're the party type, I will say go to 51 first, it has 3 different levels to it where they play all kind of music from Latino to oldies, Elan is good for when artists comes and house party music, but of course visit when Covid is more undercontrol. Also be careful of parking when you're downtown....the traffic can be bad!!!! I've been hit in savannah....and I've seen some terrible car accidents......but if you decide to more there just be aware of the driving.....You can also find a decent apartment there, the cost of living is WAYYYYYY BETTER than like New York, DC and Cali. But yes just be careful if you plan on moving to savannah. Make sure you check to see if there's any sex offenders in the particular area that you're looking for a house or apartment in and what not. If you have children, think about the best schools that will benefit them. You know the usual stuff. Plus Savannah is closer to Hilton Head/Bluffton. So if you get tired of Savannah, you can always travel to SC. Alot of military people live in savannah too. But if you're looking for a more safe and calmer place, then Hinesville is like 45 minutes away. It's where alot of military people retire to, so it's good to raise your children there. it's not busy like Savnnah, AT ALL!! But people that live in Hinesville drive to savannah almost everyday. Ohhh if you like the beach, there's Tybee that's close to savannah..... you may enjoy it. And there's also Richmond Hill, on the outside of Savnnah. It's nice there too. It's much closer to savannah, but I have noticed that the apartments there are a little more expensive....but Richmond Hill is nice too. But BLESSINGS! LOVE AND LIGHT! to where ever you decide to go, may God be with you 💚💙.
@@OGtheQueen Thx so much! Im just looking a decent place to live and work at reasonable rates. I come from Illinois which is almost no different than NY.
DECATUR?!?!?! *out of breath from laughing* And "good schools"?!?!!? Note about Peachtree City (or PTC).....if you buy a piece of property and want to build, forget it. You'll never get through the loopholes. We moved away from PTC into Newnan, because PTC wouldn't approve a log house plan. Johns Creek and Milton are nice places.....but that's changing rapidly. The people from Decatur (still laughing!) and Atlanta also know those are nice towns....if you get my drift. ;)

Evans GA has been named as the best place to live in America and you're right the cost of living in Augusta is affordable but keep in mind it really gets hot and humid here.
@Taryon Johnson Your opinion of the job industry is interesting... what type of employment have you looked for here and when? Republicans as well as Democrats are everywhere- that what make American unique.
Yes! Have kids now so they will experience the corporate water wars, civil wars between political parties and races and be alive during the literal downfall of America as the REDtarded try to change it to Amerika. #GOPAmericanTaliban
I’ve lived in Ga. all of my life. It truly is a beautiful state, but it is quickly becoming a shithole. My feet are tied here from parents and others my wife and I are having to care for, to work. If I wasn’t tied here, I would move tomorrow. They said that Atlanta is a great place to live? In crime, Atlanta ranks as one of the worst in comparison to cities of the same size. Albany Ga is just a small Atlanta and Valdosta isn’t much better. In another 5 years, the only thing good about Ga, will be the fact that it borders the panhandle of Florida. I will say this though. If you ever want to see true beauty, go to Helen Ga. and rent a cabin during the Fall season. You can sit on the porch of your cabin with a cup of coffee and the view of the red maple trees will take your breath away.
@@hh3046 That’s just another big reason that I said Georgia is quickly becoming a shithole. I’m trying my best to twist a few things hoping to move to either Oklahoma or Montana.
I live south of Macon, visited Atlanta many times for sporting events and would never move there for any reason. Traffic is awful, drugs everywhere, panhandling on every corner/on-off ramp, and crime is off the charts. Would not move to Savannah either, one of my kids attended SSU, he and seven of his friends were robbed at gun point on campus. Chatham county has a bad meth problem and it is pretty much a dump.
@@daclass1985 IF you dont need low cost housing or susbsidized housing, if you have a remote internet job St Simons Island is beautiful...jobs are only available in hospitality and pay is low in that field....
@@daclass1985 Sybil is right, St. Simons is great. It really depends if you like the city or the country, but since you are not married and young I am guessing you would want more of a night life. Which, that is going to be Atlanta or Savannah but I still would not live in the city there are plenty of nice cities surrounding Atlanta. If you like the beach and just have to be near the shore I would recommend Bluffton SC, not GA but right across the border from Savannah. If you want land some of the cheapest I have seen is in the Cochran/Montrose area although it is starting to grow in those cities. Peachtree City is also nice, but expensive. Stay away from Macon, there are some nice areas there but I would avoid it altogether, just on the other side is Jones County that area is not bad. I live by Warner Robins, its nice but crowded, I would keep going past WR and look in Perry if you want to be in center GA.
@@CardinalsXerces Thank you so much! To be honest I'm a work and home type of guy. I'm not looking for any type of night life. I'm definitely screenshoting your response and will hold on to this information as I think it will be helpful in my move. I really appreciate it.
I appreciate the video as I'm from Savannah. I lived in Augusta couple years and Atlanta for 14 years and I've been to alata Georgia's 'leave your heart there' towns and small cities. Athens, I agree. Augusta, there too. But Savannah and Atlanta are really rough in alata ways. You haf to 'learn how' to live in these two beautiful cities. Once you learn how, yes, I agree. tuonane. L
