I retired in Austin in 2016. It's extremely expensive, the traffic is horrendous and, if you have allergies, forget it!

It's amazing to see AMC doing well after all the doomsday analyses from naysayers. The stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient - warren buffet. It's good to remind people of this right now; you buy on fear and sell on greed or just hold through it all for the long term. It’s easy but lots of people forget.

@WilliamEthan00 Bridget Mary Turow is quite popular on Bloomberg I doubt if there is anyone who is serious about stock trading that doesn't know her. She has helped me quite a few times in growing my portfolio and it was blissful without any setbacks. she is a tough person in an industry that demands clairvoyance

Viewer beware! Read the comments below from people who live in the cities mentioned in this video. Corpus Christi is not the biggest city in Texas and every Texas resident pays federal income tax. the narrator also referred to several cities and neighborhoods where he said cost of living is very reasonable, some of those neighborhoods and cities have the highest cost of living in Texas. Texas is a beautiful and happy place to live but don't base your decisions on where to live on this video. explore it for yourself.

San Antonio is the only city in the US named after a person? Houston and Austin would be surprised to hear that one 🤣 So would every other city in the US that begins with San ______, every city named Lincoln, Columbus, OH, Saint Augustine, FL, Lafayette, LA and probably thousands of other cities in the US.

Well with factual reporting like this, I can understand why the subscriber count is so low. Spewing "facts" like Texas is the largest state and that Corpus Christi is the largest city in Texas eludes to the possibility that this person is a millenial and a product of the modern education system. Might want to do a little fact checking on your next video. I will help start you off. Alaska is the largest state in the US. Texas is the largest state in the continuous 48. Also known as the lower 48. Refering to States in regard to 48. Corpus Christi is no where close to being the largest city in Texas. In fact it is # 7 behind Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin and El Paso.

Beaumont and Killeen? Really? I went back to check the date on the video because Killeen was quite nice ......in the 60's. I went to grade school there. Beaumont is particularly lovely during an evacuation during hurricane season. Heat, humidity and mosquitos. It rains all the time which means you're mowing 2X a week. Many of these areas no longer affordable. San Antonio in particular, even in the year since this was made has escalated beyond affordability. Home prices and property taxes out of control. Difficult for infrastructure to keep up with growth, so traffic nightmarish. Assessed value of our home for tax purposes went up over 20% in one year. Continuing rate of increase not sustainable on a fixed income in retirement. I know people in these videos use different criteria/metrics for their assessments, but this one isn't even in the ballpark. Do some research.

After living in Texas for 40 years I moved to Delaware. Texas taxes are too high starting with the sales tax that can reach 10% in some locations and high property taxes if you want to live in a desirable area. If you want to live near the water, be ready to spend a lot of money for Texas windstorm insurance on top of homeowner's and flood insurance. Hospital care once again depends on where you live. I lived in Texas for 40 years and watched go down hill in the last 20 years. I moved to Delaware where the taxes and insurance are much lower and I now have money in my pocket.

I agree with A. Thomas Dillon, get your facts straight! Living less than 10 miles from The Woodlands, I would not say you get more for your money there; it’s the opposite. Also, El Paso is over 300 miles and 4 hours from Big Bend; hardly the gateway. Last time I looked that was Alpine, Tx and it’s still almost 90 miles away. I hope people don’t move to Texas based on this kind of information. Do your own research folks. I’m a native Texan working on my eighth decade and people would laugh at me if I described Beaumont as wine country. Texans are known to “stretch the truth” sometimes, but this video rewrote the truth. BTW, Houston is the largest city in Texas and Alaska is the largest state in the US.

They lost me at Killeen. (Also listed on another video somewhere as one of the worst towns in Texas to move to. So, can't be both) Having lived in Killeen for over 20 years, it went from what was said here to a horrific ghetto when I left 3 years ago. Shame they removed the dislike button.

Beware of property taxes in Texas. You'll be taken to the cleaners. Yes ... you won't pay a state income tax, but the property tax is excessive to the point of being punitive, especially in counties such as Travis, Harris, Dallas, and El Paso. Add in local sales taxes, and you are far worse off than you would be in most Western States and Arkansas. After my wife retires end of Feb 2023, we are getting the Hell out of Texas for a more tax-friendly state (e.g., New Mexico, Colorado, or Arkansas).

El Paso for years was this dusty dead city. The last decade that has all changed and same qualities as other major cities in Texas. However, the closet major cities in Texas is San Antonio and Fort Worth. SA is over 500 miles and FTW is over 600. Much closer to Phoenix at just over 400. Yes, El Paso has become a pretty good city, except for the location.

There's not a state in the US that doesn't pay federal income tax. Texas doesn't pay state income tax, but does pay sales tax and ever rising property taxes. And Texas is the second largest state. It is the largest in the lower 48. Too many mistakes to mention.

I dunno where this channel got their info from. But, absolutely nobody wants to move their families to El Paso or Brownsville... El Paso is the border crossing into Juarez, Mexico and nowhere close to Big Bend!! Nobody want's to go into Juarez. Brownsville is better, but not great... San Antonio is pretty okay. It's beautiful country all around it. Beaumont is actually really nice! Killeen is just situated around Ft. Hood. Not exactly great!! If it wasn't for Ft. Hood, it wouldn't be that "mid-sized" city... Houston is just Houston. It's humid, super sticky, and traffic is some of the worst in the state. Corpus Christi is awesome! But the water is muddy half the year and is definitely NOT the largest city in Texas. Pretty good seafood though!! The Woodlands is just an over-expensive place to live outside of Houston. You'll pay for it, for sure!!! Dallas/Ft. Worth is cool. But there's no GREAT OUTDOORS there. Not if you want to drive about an hour to an hour and a half outside of DFW "proper". Austin is cool, but it's not like it used to be 10-15 years ago. Austin's housing rate has grown exponentially over the last 5 years. Good luck finding a place to live there under 300k. Good luck to you and this channel. I almost, never give a dislike on a video on YT, but this one deserves it. Watch other videos and do more research if you're planning on moving here. This video is full of BS.
