So to summarize it all; 1- invest in yourself, primarily mentally, then physically 2- invest in what brings you security in the long run such as insurance, property etc. 3- invest in what you do, what makes you earn a living out of it such as education, work invesments and my humble opinion, stop trying to make everything better all the time bc it will drain your energy
I'm 21 and low income but my best investments have been: 1. A stationary bike and treadmill 2. 32" monitor (larger digital workspace) 3. IPAD , gosh I love the Digital creation apps 4. The lofted bed I built 5. the sectional I bought my family 6. my Roth IRA 7. MX Master mouse and keys (again, I work a lot on my computer creating things so a good mouse is a must) 8. Durable backpack 9. Nectar Mattress 10. Jigsaw, cuz again, I like building shit ha and lastly...therapy !
Definitely agree with the education one!! There are so many ways to learn, I love masterclass for that reason :) my camera was also def a favorite purchase, I’ve loved exploring nyc and documenting how gorgeous this city is!
You are so mature. You are smart, everything you said is so right on. I am not young anymore but I can see that people like you will be so successful. You must have had great parents who helped you get thru life. You are blessed!
HI ELENA I just wanna say that my 6'0 self loves seeing you in your videos just killing it living life and wearing heels and stuff cause it inspires me to be less insecure about my own height hehe anyways that's all love your vids
Elena! This is exactly what I needed to hear. It’s so easy to get caught up in fast fashion, especially in college. I too, have wanted Doc Martens for a few years now... I might have to splurge! Thank you for all you do for us 💕
couldn't agree more about investing in your career! i'm hoping to start my freelancing career (which is a super scary jump!) and investing in online courses has made me feel so much more confident for when i finally quit my day job 💌
I agree with travel! Especially solo travel. You learn so much about people and the world as well as different cultures and lifestyles. Plus travelling alone you learn more about yourself it is like you are investing in yourself and you hold those experiences with you forever.
My kindle was on of my worst purchases. I never read on it. I always end up buying physical copies and tend to read a lot quicker if I have a physical copy.
Same, plus if I really want to read without a physical book I have the kindle app on my phone so there’s no need for me to lug around a whole other device that only does one thing
from a fellow gal in her early 20s, thank you :') You eloquently explained the things I value too, experiences that come from traveling, learning to be independent and education in many subject areas!! I find I'm learning so much as a graduate student, even about myself and not just the material itself but I also relate to wanting to read more for pleasure and just for the sake of diving into a book ☺️ def am also guilty of loving fashion (also love my pair of docs and wear them nearly daily in the fall and winter)
I fell back in love with reading too and it’s so refreshing! I recently subscribed to Audible to be able to listen while i’m the go & ahh so happy lol 💕
Totally agree with the investing in a good bed being a top investment (if you can afford it) for better mental and physical health. I got a Bear mattress which is similar to a Casper but got better ratings for hot sleepers and co-sleepers. It also apparently helps athletes with muscle recovery. I also recently bought Brooklinen sheets after buying bargain sheets my whole life and it’s really been a game changer. Im always skeptical about Instagram/ podcast famous brands (Our Place, Third Love, Parachute etc.) but took the plunge am so glad I spent the extra money. I even switch out my pillows about once every 1-2 years as they can accumulate dust and bacteria.
I’m 21 and do not have my life together 2.0 and everytime I watch Elena’s amazingly put together videos and life I’m like okay okay Houston we have a problem
Just discovered your channel and I’m loving your content ! I have been watching your financial and traveling videos. Keep up the amazing work!!! 😁❣️❣️❣️
I can’t wait to start making money on my RU-vid channel so I can update my MacBook. It’s so slow and it takes me forever to edit videos but I can’t afford the update weight now. As soon as I have the money I’m upgrading!!
Just sent an application for vanguard Roth IRA ! Not sure what I’m really doing but hope to learn more from your videos and my own financial readings and self-studying.
Eu gosto de seus vídeos. Elena, você é uma jovem mulher e tem muita energia e criatividade. Eu me motivo, ânimo vem para mim quando assisto a seus vídeos. Parabéns!
I wanted a pair of doc martens for years and finally got them in January and they have definitely been worth the money, I use them with everything! Quality over quantity indeed 👏🏽
Loved this video! I'd be super interested in seeing how you allocate your investments if that's something you'd be comfortable with making a video about :)
Hey! Wondering what mattress topper you have? I feel like you have mentioned it/posted it on Instagram a bunch and I am on the hunt for something comfy.
i´ve always liked and wanted to travel, A LOT, and after all this and nobody wanting to do anything and not a single plan that i´ve made come through, i´ve come to the conclusion that maybe i should actually solo travel, bc no one can let me down and i´m the one responsible for the trip to happen. im from spain so the ideal trip would be like a month long interrail (a program that lets u pay x amount money for unlimited train rides through out europe during x days, it´s literally perfect) so if someone wants to join me next year, they are welcome to do so, and if not oh well i´ll explore on my own!
can you link the mac book pro that you bought ? and can you add in what type of storage and all the extra stuff you added on it? I'm not very knowledgeable with computers but my job is also on my computer and I'm currently looking into buying a new one. Your link takes me to the mattress btw! ♡
can we stop romantizising travel by plane? i agree travel builds character but one of the biggest carbon footprint left by individuals is airplane-travel. yes travel, but travel by train!
I think it's great to think about your future but not sure how happy we should be to "avoid" paying taxes. Taxes are not thrown away, they support many great things :)
You are not "avoiding taxes" you are "avoiding potentially higher taxes" and that is what she ment. As you are paying in ROTH IRA money from that taxes are already paid (from net salary).
@@kkriSSStaa I know what she meant 😂 at the end of the day it's still about trying to not "waste" money on taxes and I would like to challenge that mindset.
Highly recommend getting a Kobo instead of a Kindle! They are very comparable, except Kobo is not owned by Am*zon! You can also sync it up with your library. www.kobo.com/
