Dude, I know it happened a long time ago, but there's a conspiracy that Super Bowl III where the Jets upset the Colts was fixed. The old AFL agreed to merge with the NFL effective in 1970. But the NFL was more established and much stronger with the Packers easily winning the 1st 2 SB's. The theory is that Pete Rozelle was afraid that the merger would be rejected by the fans, because they didn't take the AFL seriously, and the Colts were expected to crush the Jets which would've been another easy win for the NFL. So in order to give the AFL credibility and make the merger more popular Rozelle supposedly paid off the Colts to throw the game. Also there's the theory that Colts owner Carroll Rosenbloom had a huge gambling problem and owed a lot of money to some shady characters. So he forced Don Shula, the Colts Head Coach to throw the game so he could bet on the Jets and would make enough money to pay off his debts. The late Bubba Smith was always convinced even on his deathbed that SB III was fixed.
Best sports conspiracy ever though has to be the 1972 Olympic gold medal basketball game between the US and the USSR when the Soviets got three chances to come from one point down because a FIBA administrator (who it later turned out had no authority to officiate the game) twice claimed that a phantom "time-out" had been called during the last few seconds of the match. On their third try the Soviets scored the basket they needed to win. The US team refused to take their silver medals and to this day there's controversy over why the administrator insisted he'd heard somebody call a time-out that nobody other than the Soviets in the building heard....
The 2007 superbowl between the seahawks and steelers Has got to be the closest thing ive seen to a rigged game. The officials "missed" a penalty by Pittsburgh on almost every play.
@@oneordinarycitizen that was one play though, and they did have some calls go their way in that one. This was a whole 60 minutes of holding and pass interference that went uncalled
As a long time Steelers fan I can confirm that the only conspiracy there was that everyone was fooled into thinking the Steelers could win a Super Bowl with Neil O'Donnell
The NYK #1 pick was obviously set up. Not only was the envelope banged on the side, by the lawyer placing them in the drum, causing a bend in that one. But the lawyer worked for the law firm that was connected to the Knicks.
Facts Most of these are known to be Truths now , not “ theories “ The sock 1 is StupiT AF though Ketchup & Sharpie ? I can accept it being fakes but C’Mon , something better than ketchup. Lol
You can do conspiracy theories on the Patriot’s Super Bowl victory over the Rams the 1st time(9/11), the Patriot’s victory over the Seahawks just to name a few.
That the nfl helped the patriots get to the super bowl with the tuck rule that no one ever heard of. After 9-11 the nfl changed the super bowl logo to the American flag. Seeing that the patriots colors are red, white and blue. The nfl wanted the Patriots in the big game to symbolize America after the tragic events.
The 1993 finals when Montreal looked at the kings players sticks in the locker room, identified one with an illegal curve, and asked for it to be measured. Therefore, when the officials realized the curve was to big, The habs got a power play and tied the game and would eventually win in overtime en route to the cup.
I have always said that MJ first retirement was a suspension. If it got out that it was a suspension, it would have crushed the league and MJ, the face of the league. Plus, he started playing baseball, and only stopped due to the 1994 MLB strike, as he didn't want to cross the picket line. But, he never announced that he was leaving baseball, just went back to basketball, and everyone was happy. But what about his baseball team, waiting for him to come back. 🤷♂️ 👀🔬There is a story to look into, why did he not return to baseball?
fellow ravens fan here. that whole run and those flacco years were great. thankfully we did win a super bowl. and i am convinced that power went out on purpose. the game was going too fast forget the score. it was a little over 8 oclock when beyonce hit the stage. once jones scored, they had to keep the game going to run those commercials. i was so glad next year when seattle crushed denver that they couldnt pull that stunt again.
NASCAR telling Cale Yarborough to pull into the pits on the final lap of the 1984 Pepsi 400 so that Richard Petty could get his 200th win with the president Ronald Reagan in attendance.
Failed to mention along with Cal Ripkin Jr. The controversy associated with Lou Gehrig. Because of his illness, on days when Lou Gehrig wasn't feeling well he would play one inning and get one official time at bat to keep his playing streak alive. Of course everyone then saw it as heroic.
1994 dolphins/chargers playoff game.. Dolphins were killing the chargers. Then at halftime the lights in the dolphins locker-room go black. They would proceed to not score again the rest of the game
Not Sports in the traditional sense but the Macho Man got it on with a Teenage Stephanie McMahon resulting in Randy Savage getting blackballed from the WWF/E. Also former Blackhawks owner Bill Wirtz getting a mileage between franchises rule that just so happens to be the distance between Chicago and Milwaukee
LA Rams not getting called for holding that pass interference. What did we get? One of the worst Superbowls. What could we have gotten instead? The final Brees/Brady battre.
The 2001 NBA eastern conference finals Bucks v Sixers. Look at the free throw differential. Tom Brady's entire career (backlash here) is one. He coincidently wins the Superbowl in his own stadium. In addition Robert Kraft and Goodell association is a conflict of interest, with interestingly Brady at QB.
Best TPS Vid I’ve ever seen, also, another conspiracy theory suggests that the officiating team for Super Bowl XL was forced to be replaced by the good ones so that Pittsburgh could’ve beaten the Seahawks, who at the time, never got close?
If you look at all the missed penalties to give them the lead and the obvious pass interference at the end of the game that wasn’t called, based on the outcome.. then you know those lights were not fixed against the Ravens. That Whole SB was bullshit
I had to stop watching at the Lakers v Kings one. I'm not a Kings fan but it pisses me off so much to think how the 00s could have gone for the Kings if they made the Finals and probably would have beaten the Nets. That would have been huge for the team. I'm a Bucks fan so obviously I want them to win, but I really hope the Kings keep up what they're doing with their young and extremely talented core and win a title soon
DAVID STERN... He was a cancer on the league. He ran the league like that over bearing Room monitor mom at after school programs heckling kids to do their homework. He wanted Larry Bird Michael Jordan type larger than life athletes to run the league. However when Kobe couldnt win on his own Big Mother Stern had to rig it for him. That was the WORST debacle in sports. It actually ruined the team and they almost moved away.
@@darrinsiberia Keep making your videos that nobody cares about, you just tryna be relevant and make something out of nothing 😂Pistons, Mavs, and plenty other non top tier teams won titles while he was commissioner. Go find something else to be wrong about
Every time that a superstar NFL player is going to retire after reaching the superbowl something "crazy" happens in his favor. Remember when the reffs gave the superbowl to the steelers because Bettis was retiring? Or how the reffs let Eli keep the play going after his feet stopped moving so he could complete the "helmet catch" to beat the undefeated pats because Strayhan was retiring ? Think about it.
The juiced ball theory has sort of been proven in the past few years as Rob Manfred admitted back in 2019 they (mlb) requested Rawlings for specific design details of the balls and its no secret they confirmed that the balls have been returned back to how they were pre 2017 people have called it a deadened ball for 2021 and like years past it seems to bounce more in hot weather and not all seasons. But it's still a mystery to whether they're juiced or not in the postseason.
This is the first I'm hearing about the Jordan theory. I was only 13 or so when he retired and we didn't have internet rumor sheets back them so I guess it makes sense that I never heard of it
I’m still lost on how the Kobe play was a foul you have to give the offensive player room to catch the ball smh he stayed in and flopped Kings were known for that THE REF THE NBA THE FANS ALL WERE DONE WITH THAT SHIT!!!
I most certainly believe refs will try and make certain teams win for the revenue of the bigger team being in the finals. Also I love the x files music everytime you moved to the next on the list🤣
You referred to Curt Schilling as a future Hall of Famer. If he were not already eligible, I can understand this. At this point, there’s no guarantee he will ever get in.
As far as the Phelps one is concerned, the winner isn't necessarily determined in a swimming race by who touches the wall first. The walls contain pressure sensitive pads, and the timer stops when a certain pressure is placed upon the wall. As such, it may be the case that Phelps touched the wall second, but reached the required pressure first. Both of those can happen without there being any foul play, but obviously I understand why it would create conspiracy theories
I love these conspiracy theories! Who cares if they are true or not! They make great sports lore! Just root, root, root for the laundry; if it's all fake, who's to blame? For it one, three, ten lies came out At a team or player to be named! Let's hear some more! :-)
Anytime there is a disaster tragedy... that city wins the super bowl Stanley cup.... Boston marathon bruins win Katrina saints win 9/11 everyone's a patriot
One player from every NFL team that wasted a players talent or great portion of their career. Examples: Sanders, Stafford, and Johnson for the Lions. Sanders would probably be the unfortunate winner of that.
@Malone No 49 is explainable. Seattle ran the clock down and only had 1 timeout. Throwing the ball makes sense because that gives you 2 more chances to run it in without giving the patriots anytime to get down the field plus not having to worry about running out of time yourself. Good call but poor execution.
@Malone Ok first off fuck gematria effect news his predictions have proven to be inconsistent. And secondly a former DPOY Luke Kuechly broke the play down and explained why it was the right call on top of the fact that I just explained it to you. I believe games have been fixed in the past but every season being scripted just like the WWE is impossible and has never been proven.
@Malone Lmao by your Logic isn't Luke Kuechly's entire career scripted as well? And by the way by saying Tom Brady's entire career is a WWE script your claiming that tons of players, coaches, owners, and other's in the league office know the outcomes before games and carry them out every single week with no proof for decades. I'd believe in fucking bigfoot before I would believe that.
