On a real offset dish the top of the shadow of the feed should generally be just at the bottom edge of the dish. And from the focal point, the oval offset dish should look like a circle, and the feed would point at the apparent center of the dish (which is just below the actual center of the oval dish). The figure and shape of an offset dish is not the same as the figure of a prime focus dish. An offset dish is half of a parabola. A prime focus dish is a whole parabola.
