A fantastic conclusion to a great little mini-series here, Marc! I've really enjoyed this. It's crazy how much some of this stuff goes for, and how many tapes you actually have! 🤯😂 Some great stuff featured here, mate. Awesome to see the Enchantment demo sat so high up in the price list! Love the Anathema demo. Those early versions of Crestfallen and They Die are so different to what ended up on Serenades. I wrote to Darren quite a lot back in the day, top bloke!
I love how you can hear that evolution from their demo tracks compared to what they recorded for their album! We were lucky enough to share the stage with them a few times back in the early 90s & got to know Darren & Duncan quite well! Top blokes!🤘🏻

I did get rid of quite a few of my tapes back in the day… as I replaced them with CDs… but luckily I did manage to hang on to quite a few too! They’ve had quite a resurgence in popularity over the last few years haven’t they… which I’m enjoying… as it’s such a nostalgic format for me! Thanks as always for watching Christian!🤘🏻

Great final part to your mini series Marc! Divine intervention is a fantastic Slayer album, definitely overlooked! Mortal sin and Exhorder are bands I need to check out. Symphonies of sickness is a great Carcass album. Really cool to see your band included for the demos! I'll have to look up Akista, they sound my kind of Black Metal. There's some insane prices for some little cassettes!! Good luck getting up! 😂🤘🤘
Thanks Josh! A lot of people say that the debut album from ‘Exhorder’ was a real influence on ‘Pantera’ when they came out of their glam phase & into the heavier style we know today! When you hear it… you can understand why people say it! I did manage to get up eventually… but spent 10mins dealing with terrible pins & needles, lol!🤘🏻

Definitely have some classics here Marc. When Cd’s came out I lost Interest in Cassettes and ended up getting rid of most of mine. The rarest cassette I still have is Solitude Aeturnus - Into The Depths Of Sorrow Advance Tape. They were a local band where i live and founding Guitarist John Perez has been a great friend for many years. Even he doesn't have one. It doesn’t look like it was every sold on Discogs as no price is listed.
I was the same tbh David… as soon as CDs appeared on the scene my vinyl & tape collection dwindled as I replaced as many as I could! If that ‘Solitude Aeturnus’ tape has never sold on Discogs… you just know it’s as rare as rocking horse sh!t, lol! That’s a very nice piece in your collection that one mate! Killer Leprophiliac shirt! Don't think I've ever seen a tape of Symphonies. Good see some Mortal Sin action although there is an older cover art on the Aussie version which is hilariously bad compared to that awesome Bisley cover. Very jealous of that Anathema demo and surprised it's not worth more
Thanks Geoff! Yeah… I do know the other cover art on the ‘Mortal Sin’ album… it’s that bad it’s good, lol! I bought the ‘Anathema’ demo from the band at one of the many gigs I saw them play before they were signed… so it’s got a special place in my collection that one!🤘🏻
Really cool Korean version of 'Divine Intervention'! 'The Law' looks cool in cassette format. I love those old death doom demos! The cassette format was perfect for all those pictures of tombstones, graveyard statues and crying women. Did you guys xerox the Enchantment j-card?
The ‘Slayer’ tape is the only Korean press I’ve ever seen… so feels like a nice & unique piece to have in my collection! Yeah… the j-cards were all photocopied & then individually cut out! We had to get some help from a couple of mates… coz we didn’t even know where there was a Xerox machine… or how they worked, lol! Thanks as always for watching Kim!🤘🏻

I've still got the cassette of Divine Intervention (Turkish press) . I bought it when it was released. Mine has different outer and inner covers than the one you showed. The outer cover is vertical and it shows the whole album art and the parental advisory . On the inside cover are the photos of each member taken under a red light. Also there is a picture of the arms of somebody, the left one had a bloody Slayer logo cut by razor ( or it looks like it was cut by razor, I don't know how real is the cut). It also has lyrics but in white on black background.
That picture of the ‘Slayer’ logo cut into that guys arm is real… it was a fan at one of their shows & yes… he did it with razor blades! Some people are die hard fans to the very extreme aren’t they! Thanks as always for watching my friend!🤘🏻

Yeah… a lot of the demos from back in the day were really short presses so they won’t be easy to find these days I’d suspect! Yeah… I’ve seen the other cover for the ‘Mortal Sin’ album… & it’s that bad… it’s good! Darren from ‘Anathema’ is a great bloke… we had the pleasure of playing & hanging out with them a few times back in the day! Robert Müller… that’s a name I’ll never forget Jürgen!! Lovely bloke! All our band pictures taken back in the day… including the ones that appeared on our album… were taken by Robert!🤘🏻
Great trilogy Marc and........Aarrrggghh I used to own the COF demo, bought at a gig in liverpool but got lost between Uni and home somehow, own the CD reissue. Brings back memories though as used to listen to that demo before every exam I took. I got rid of most my cassettes and replaced with CD's but still have the MDB 'towards the sinister' and the mighty Decomposed 'Ego sum lex mundi' demo (prefer the procession of the undertakers' version on the demo). Bought off Harry at a gig, I think at Royal Court basement, which had a lot of great bands on back in the day, including Anathema just before they released the Crestfallen EP.

@@marc.g.with.a.c. I wasn't lucky enough to see Bolt Thrower back in the day but have seen them since, including the final 'Boltfest' gig with Autopsy as support, which was awesome. Did you ever hear or have a gig with a band called Malediction in the early 90's. My mate joined the band last year and they've released a pretty decent EP at the back end of 2023.
Would love that Carcass tape ! Exhorder is good, first two only for me - I really don't like their comeback stuff at all. I have Fulci in a cassette box set, pretty cool. I like old Anathema , not keen on anything after Eternity.....Used to have that COF tape back in the day, dunno what happened to it.

Yeah… cassette tapes have had a massive resurgence recently haven’t they… even the bigger labels are regularly pressing new albums on all 3 formats! I do love the nostalgia that comes with them too!
