Normally I listen to your videos and it’s whatever. But the amount of dumbass takes in this was surprising. Literally you’d have to be a moron for some of them
Does anyone else get a bit annoyed whenever a review or list comes out that includes a Tomb Raider game, they pronounce her name as 'Law-Rah' (Laura), rather than Lah-Rah (Lara), which is how it's supposed to be pronounced. It always bugs me. Her name is not Laura, lol. I know it doesn't mean anything, considering what this list is about, but it annoys me nonetheless.
Dino crisis 3 is such an in name only sequel, the first two games are fantastic but its very unfortunate the direction they went in and hope the possibility capcom will give the original game the remake treatment like with RE 2.
I'm surprised Ninja Gaiden 3 wasn't on this list. The game difficulty was nerfed, making it easy, you lost the use of your other weapons other than just the sword, and you heal with your ninpo. And the story was a stinker. Fortunately with the rereleased Razor's Edge, the other weapons come back and the difficulty is back. But the story is still a stinker. I also remember hearing that Devil May Cry 2 was developed by the arcade team or some arcade team who had zero experience in console game development. Funny enough, that Dante appears in Shin Megami Tensei 4. Or is it SMT3. I don't know but DMC2 Dante is in one of those games. Another thing about Ninja Gaiden 3 was that Tomonobu Itagaki who was the lead designer at Team NINJA and the heart and soul of the Dead Or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series ended up leaving the studio due to allegations of s**ual harassment. He ended up starting a new studio called Valhalla and put out a game called Devil's Third.
Surprised Overwatch 2 is here, as it's less pf a sequel and more of an "update" to the original. (Y'all probably know why "update" is in quotation marks.)
I know it’s been 20 years after its release, but Angel of Darkness has since been fixed in recent years. At the time, I hated Core Design’s ideas of switching Lara Croft from a gun-toting badass with jungle shorts to whatever they did to her in Angel Of Darkness with that design. Thank goodness, Crystal Dynamics continues to make Lara great again in 2 generations (The Legend Trilogy and the Survivor Trilogy) and stick around with her for 20 years.
The reason why Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness sucked is because during Angel of Darkness's early development the TR team was split into 2 with one team working on the mediocre Tomb Raider: Chronicles for the PS1, and another one working on Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness for the PS2 and after Chronicles came out the team that worked on it left Core Designs meaning Angel of Darkness was worked on by a small team.
It's been almost 30 years since the original Tomb Raider released, how are people STILL getting her name wrong? It's Lara ( lah-rah ) not Laura ffs....
Everyone has its tastes. I don't understand why people hates Driver 3 so much; it isn't a masterpiece, but it's not a horrible game either. Hell, I don't understand why people hates Driver 2.
Dead space 3 shouldn't be here tho. Was it a disappointment, yes. But to call it one of the worst ever? It was better than re6 and that sold gang buster
Honorable mention: Final Fight 2 The gameplay was great & it had a 2 player mode. The thing I didn't like was the story (Mad Gear going from a gang running a city to a global crime syndicate was a little too farfetched for me).
The thing that make sequels so bad is not exactly the quality of the game but the disappointment of squandering the opportunity built up from a great first game. With games like Bubsy.... what were you expecting? My personal number 1 on this list would be Deus Ex 2 which had everything that made the original brilliant, stripped out so it could be played on console. And the original sure was totally brilliant.
Angel of Darkness had so much potential, but tragically suffered from a difficult production due to a lack of proper leadership and Eiddos Interactive's insistence on whoring out their biggest franchise. That hasnt stopped it from becoming a cult classic over the years, with many wanting a remake or reimagining
I pick Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex and Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly as the worst sequels. When I got my Playstation 2 for Christmas 2002, I wanted to get a new Crash game and a new Spyro game because I hailed Crash and Spyro as Playstation mascots. After playing those games, however, both have ridiculously long loading times, both have poor plots, both have stiff animation, both of them have slow gameplay, and both have terrible glitches and bugs in them. I'm glad I disowned those games.
Crash Bandicoot 4: The Warth of Cortex is Not Worst Sequel and Loading Times - PS2 - 45 Second | JP PS2 & The Greatest Hits / Platinum PS2 - 15 Second | NGC & Xbox - 5 Second and Game Animation Talk That Was Late 90s and Early 2000s Game
1:24 AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! Dino Crisis 3: DINOSAURS IN SPAAAAAAAAACE! 10:08 Bestiality FTW! I think the most disappointing sequel for me was Paper Mario Sticker Star.
Not a Sequel But Street Fighter The Movie Game (1995) I don't like the game hell I even don't see what I saw In the 1994 live action movie guess I was a Dumb kid
You forgot Bladestorm. I had high hopes for that game seeing that Kessen was such a great series. To have the same elements in a medieval setting sparked great anticipation. The actual game was more of an exercise in subjecting garbage to the fermentation process 😐. Even playing the game made me feel like one of those ppl who suck at life. 😒
I’m not gonna say DS3 was a absolute masterpiece but it also wasn’t a total disaster either and their DLC Awakened ending could’ve added at least another DLC or a smaller scale fourth game
Her name’s not Laura. Tomb Raider came out in 1996, and at no point in that game or since has her name been Laura. It’s Lara. Have I got better things to do than moan? Yes. But then I’m not trying to be a videogame-centric RU-vid channel.
They are more prequels, but God of war Ascension and Chains of Olympus just didn't need to exist. Love the overall franchise, but those 2 are definitely the weakest links.
My top worst game ever played are 1 sonic 2016 2 fast and furious cross roads 3 final fantasy 15 and 13 4 dead space 3 5 sly cooper 4 6 Lego Spyro 4 enter dragon fly7 Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues 8 marvel azming spider man 2 and the avengers 9 battlefield 2042 ten paw patrol adventure city cell and Lego Batman 3 beyond Gotham
WORST SEQUEL GRAND THEFT AUTO 5 , TOO VIOLENT , TOO CYNICAL , AND FAR TOO ANNOYING , HOW THE HELL DID IT SELL 190 MILLION? , JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING IS SUPER SUCCESSFUL DOESN'T MEAN ITS GOOD JUST LOOK AT GONE WITH THE WIND " HIGHEST GROSSING FILM " BUT IT SURE IS BORING JUST LIKE GTA 5 .
Maybe he wanted the original duo instead of a disgusting buffed Gretta Thrunberg and an ugly gender dysphoric brat both coming from out of nowhere and no-one asked for@@MTTT19
I hate to say this one but, Aragami 2. Gameplay was repetitive Combat was lacking Barely any cutscenes Didn't understand the story And there's only one boss fight
I played all 3 of the man-line Dead Space games, and honestly found 3 to be the best of them, because it gave up trying to be scary. I just find it hard to get scared by a monster in a game when I know that the game expects me to kill said monster. 3 on the other hand had that weapon creation mechanic that allowed you to make some pretty wacky things.
Some honorable mentions: Ultima IX: Ascension - This broken and buggy game ultimately killed the Ultima franchise and would be the catalyst for Origin Systems’ demise. Star Fox Zero - Instead of making a sequel to Star Fox: Assault, Nintendo decided to remake Star Fox 64 again for Wii U and force players to play the game with a gamepad-centric control scheme nobody asked for, and nobody liked. Red Faction: Armageddon - The underrated open-world game Red Faction: Guerrilla was followed up by this mediocre linear third-person shooter that abandoned all the things that made its predecessor great.
@@Themasktrooper Iizuka had nothing to do in 06's production, and is famous for not having a clue about sonic lore anymore. He once mistakenly said that Sonic's canon takes place in "two different worlds" which convoluted the lore even further. Nakamura's intention was to make a sequel that both newcomers and old fans of the series can enjoy, and due to its poor rception Iizuka tried to drop it as far from the series as possible.
Angel of Darkness remains my favorite of the franchise. I adore it's setting, plot, and darker tone, but can fully admit it's shortcomings. It feels like an unfinished game with bugs and stark areas. I would absolutely love to see a remake of this title.
If you didn’t understand what they were doing with the story. Then you wouldn’t understand it even if somebody explained it to you. You can dislike some choices they made, but if you think it’s a bad sequel then you’re either too young or simple minded to know what they were going for lol
@@fearlesscheshirecat1411 "If you didn’t understand what they were doing with the story. Then you wouldn’t understand it even if somebody explained it to you." it's not because someone doesn't agree with you he doesn't understand with what the "choices they made" like you said ! The call to ignorance is the sophism of cowards. And what do we "didn't understand" if you would like to tell us ? Is it that hard to put arguments and explain ?
@@hardcorevictor2552 The entire point of The Last of Us Part II is to show the players it’s all about perspective. We grew an attachment to Ellie and Joel, therefore, anything bad that happens to them players immediately get mad without even wanting to understand the ‘why’ the bad happened to them. Joel killed Abby’s father. So no matter how you feel about Joel, that doesn’t change the fact that he still brutally killed Abby’s father. You could make the argument that Joel did it to save Ellie. But moralistically the Firefly’s were in the right. Even if they weren’t, Joel could’ve walked out of that room without killing them, and even for arguments sake say that he had no choice. Abby felt like she had no choice to kill Joel. Joel and Ellie have done far worse things than Abby. The problem with Abby, and I guarantee this to be true: if Abby had been a more attractive girl and not portrayed as some hulking man. I guarantee that people would’ve been more sympathetic to her. The second game shows us how good and bad are perceived. When you look back at the game, Ellie killed all of Abby’s friends (including the dog too). While Abby let’s Tommy live, and even let Ellie go. But Ellie decided to kill everybody who was even there when Joel died. Even though several of them didn’t do anything to warrant being killed. Abby showed more restraint and forgiveness than Ellie, but since you had a previous connection with Ellie. You, like many others didn’t make that connection. So even though you may not like certain story choices of the game……to say it’s a bad sequel is just wrong.
2:49 I tried to play Angel with darkness almost 20 years ago or is it 20 years ago I don't remember I use a game shark or I think it was action replay cheat codes that's a screwed up experience
yeah I knew sonic 06 will be on that list, however I gotta admit that I actually like that game. Soleana is a really cool hubworld where you can explore and find cool secrets, the soundtrack is probably my favorite in any Sonic game, the story was actually quite well written (yeah aside from that kiss scene blah blah..) and Mephiles is a fantastic villain. Most people won't agree with me but whatever.
@@mattiasolsson1523 it's not really a reboot. Shadow being a G.U.N agent indicates that this game takes place after Shadow The Hedgehog, which itself is a direct sequel to Sonic Adventure 2.
@@Nov-5062 In SA2 and Shadow the Hedgehog We can see half of the Moon was destroyed. In Sonic 06 the very last scene when Sonic look at the sky the Moon is full. In Wikipedia is clearly a reboot, check it out.
@@mattiasolsson1523 but, he was resurrected as a clone in Sonic Heroes, and the Shadow game is all about him pondering about his past, after remembering only the death of Maria. Him joining G.U.N is a crucial part of his character arc as he finally decided to let go of his past and focus on doing the right thing.
This game is weird bc Watchmojo will declare it as a sequel or reboot as long as it's on a bad games list personally I think this game shows what happens when you make poor decisions it has the elements to be good but couldn't be that bc of screw ups
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I disagree with Dead Space 3. It is actually my favorite in the series due to the inclusion of exploring an alien world not just space crafts.
