Because the actress was leaving the show to star in FTWD, whereas Octavia was a lead character with no intention of leaving. I do think Lexa's death should have been written better, though. Like a battle or some nobel sacrifice, not just a random bullet.
I disagree. I loved her death. It was sudden, unexpected and more importantly it wasn't an all important fight or anything. I like when great characters are taken down in ways that are completely benign. Not all important people in life die a heroes' death. Pyrrhus of Epirus a great general died when an old woman threw a tile on his head from her rooftop during a battle. He fell unconscious and a soldier finished him off.
Yeah I honestly couldn't keep watching after Lexa died. It still kinda hurts too much. One day I may finish the series but for now I'm fine with wallowing is self pity over Lexa
El Tio Brizu I actually watched the show just for her lol It is sad how they killed such an awesome character, at least she deserved a death in the battlefield.
1:10 Lexa went off of Clarke's reaction in that scene! Her back was turned, even if she could have sensed it in time, the crowd started yelling after Clarke's reaction.. That's how Lexa knew Roan was about to strike, because she was looking at Clarke
@@RK-ep8qy Lexa was raised to be a warrior, by a civilization of warriors, because of her nightblood. Sara is an amazing fighter but Lexa is just on another level, sorry 🤷🏻♂️ That being said, if anyone in the Arrowverse (non-metahuman) stood a chance against her, it would be her and Oliver.
@@theunderdog9353 lexa knows one fighting style but Sara knows several, she's also got 10 years on lexa. Ras Al ghuls daughters also trained since birth but both Oliver and Sara stood a very good chance against them. Sara also practices combat a LOT more than lexa. Lexa spends her time having to rule but Sara is constantly in the field, hence having more experience fighting against a wide variety of opponents.
I do wish Lexa could have stayed around a bit longer. But Jason didn't really have a choice. The actress who played Lexa had another obligation that she was committed too. So she had to be written out of the series.
lexa was such a sweet charactor . it’s no secret that she was most of the viewers favorite character just cause she’s such a role model and she was so strong and the best heda ever ! long live lexa !!
Bro I love how she follows the rules but also knows when not to. Like if she thinks something can be done another way she’d do it. Like i don’t think anyone would’ve dared to kill nia. Also I love how she just avenged costia’s death by killing nia.
Lexa was one of the coolest characters ever created. It’s absolutely ridiculous that she got only 2 seasons. If only they managed to keep her for longer plus improve the writing if later seasons, this series could have become iconic.
ESC Potato too bad Jennifer Lawrence was in that f****** the movie but that's okay because there's a fan feeling radio on RU-vid a certain RU-vid actress who plays Katniss Everdeen made of 20 Minute Fan Film that's better than the f****** original not bad for a low-budget Kickstarter budget film
Roan didn't survive that fight by accident it was because of Clarke she convinced Lexa that her issue is with the Ice Queen NOT her son that gave her pause so she therefore kills her because blood must have blood no doubt that kill was for Costia but Clarke convinced Lexa to kill Queen Nia instead of Roan because remember earlier in this episode she tells Roan she wants him to become the King he couldn't get rid of his bitch mother because his people wouldn't take him back so Clarke convinced Lexa to do it. That look at the end between Lexa and Clarke says it all Job well done the Bitch is finally dead Long Live the King!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually Lexa killed Nia has nothing to do with Clarke. Nia made the challenge against Lexa, and Lexa probably thought Roan was the lesser of two evils so she spared him to kill Nia, the one responsible for the attack on Mt Weather and Costia. There was never a conversation with Clarke telling Lexa to kill Nia. Lexa was planing on killing Nia the whole time.
dee sousa no it wasn't Lexa killed Nia because she threatened her power and by doing so threatened her life as well as the life of the person she cares most about aka Clarke and to avenge costia's murder
TVOCD I think it was a political decision as well as a personal one yeah she did it because she killed costia but I think she did it because nia was a loose cannon politically speaking and was a threat to all lexa was striving to achieve
I also think roan was holding back a lot he didn’t even seem to care much, we saw roan fight before this and I’m sorry but he could have taken lexa out regardless if she’s commander or whatever, he almost took Luna out who would have killed lexa when they were younger and Luna only survived because of her nightblood, they either tried to make roan look weak here or he simply didn’t care much about his mother which I don’t think he did, roan was a pretty decent king tho tbh
Queen Nia killed Lexa's first love as well as caused grief for a number of their people. She was cruel and malicious. Furthermore, she knew even if she proved her worth in combat, the Ice Queen would still continue to conspire against her. If she was listening to Clarke, and her so-called peace, she would've spared them both. Remember, Lexa was the wisest of all the commanders. It may have been a split decision, but that just shows how smart and quick thinking she is.
The reason i watch the 100 bcuz of her lexa . The small time tbat she appear in this show is the best. And she owns it like she is the real heroine. I didint surprise while a millions of fans is adoring her. She is a wise leader/commander.great job lexa❤
Yup. Those were the days! After that episode everything started going down the drain and we ended up with this Wonkru-Sanctum bullshit. UPDATE After watching the last minutes of the finale, i will just reaffirm it: it's FUCKING BULLSHIT alright.
I think of season 4 to be one of the best although Lexa was my fav character but I hated Aloe, and it was really hard to watch season 3 since she appeared
That fight was so amazing! :D I love fights like this! She can parry great with those two swords. This fight reminded me a bit about the MANY fights I saw Xena perform in Xena Warrior Princess
I understand that lexas character had to be killed bc she was leaving but could u have given her a better death. Maybe she jumps in front of the bullet to save Clarke or just dies saving Clarke in some way
Imagine if the spear didnt hit Queen Nia that wouldve been embarassing ... Im the same height as Alycia and even i cant throw a spear with that much accuracy and force but after all it is tv
Octavia Clearwater this is also way into the future. With radiation resistance, two headed deer, and all kinds of shit that will turn you into monsters.
I mean lexa was trained to fight since birth so it really would have been embarrassing if she missed a big ass target from that distance when they were standing still
I know my opinion might not be popular in this matter. But a fight isn't always about who is stronger or ruthless. Luna was a ruthless fighter and looked scary. Lexa was more of an intelligent fighter. As a former boxing and mix martial arts fighter I can tell you that, strength and brute force doesn't always mean you'll win. Remember Octavia was no match for Luna, and still beat her because she used her head. Luna was great but mentally unstable, which means that she was more premative and fought with instinct. Lexa would have already known her weaknesses and strengths... Luna only said she left the first conclave and she was matched up with Lexa next. But just because she was confident that she would win doesn't mean she would have won. Lexa is more of an intelligent fighter, calculating and fearless. I use to trick my opponents in the ring by making them think I was right handed them switch it up with my left hand because I am ambidextrous. I would look at their technique and for patterns.. I think Lexa would have beaten Luna. Barely but yes, she would have won. Lexa was intelligent. Luna is a badass too though.
@Avinab Gurung I know that the conclaves are different. I am speaking from a professional fighter's stand point. I my not have stepped in a ring with weapons but we are still trained to study techniques, styles and counter moves. I always play attention to the fights in movies and shows because that is my natural instinct. I said my opinion would not be the most popular one. Still I keep to my opinion. Luna was awesome, but mentally unstable which can be her weakness. I have also been in a lot of street fights where I had to fight men.. although I didn't always win I was still able to take a few down. If those fights were about just brute force then I would of lost. Again this is just my opinion.. I am sure everyone has their own.
@@valentinogal781 Luna was mentally unstable when she died.. when both Lexa and Luna was alive Luna was mentally very stable.. and she even said that she left because she was better than Lexa and she did not want to kill her.. even when she was mentally unstable Roan and Octavia could not defeat her in 2v1 and Lexa had struggle to defeat Roan in 1v1 so that 2 scene alone proves that Luna is better than Lexa (and I'm saying this like that I love Lexa)
@@marco002 She didn't say that she liked Lexa. She killed her own brother she wouldn't have a problem killing Lexa. I believe that it effected her and she seemed sweet, but she did say that she killed her brother because she wanted to win. I said my opinion wouldn't he popular, but I am sticking with it. After watching the show I know Lexa was special and the most loved of all commanders.. she was wise, strong, and intelligent. I know she was meant to be commander one way or another. Just like Clarke was meant to be a leader and one day carry the flame to enter the city of lights. It couldn't of happened any other way. When Madi came close to the flame it glowed as if Lexa's spirit had picked her. Everything Lexa said to Clarke came true, like that she would always be with her and in spirit or in other ways she was, and she said that the next commander would protect her Madi did, and she showed up in the city of lights to help Clarke so I think she would of won in that conclave anyway. I liked Luna, but in my opinion even if it is just my own I believe that although Lexa wasn't as an aggressive fighter as Luna that she still would of beat Luna because Lexa was incredibly intelligent.
Now imagine this, if lexa didn't die she would have fought against the king, octavia and luna in the conclave for the bunker, would have been a heart breaking episode
After hearing echo's story where she was like 10 and the ice queen forced her to kill her sister or best friend w/e cant remember I got the sense most of clan was happy she died hell maybe all.of em Ice queen was a proper name tho
@@justanotherguy4178 he was a good character after that, The writers ruined him, He had so much potential , But of course he got forgiven and didn't get tortured or killed because titus didn't tell anyone, Nor did anyone care that he used a GUN, A forbidden weapon.
A majority of the main characters died in extremely weak ways. Like 95% of them. That was what disappointed me about this good show. I'd rather the warriors die as warriors fighting for their cause than them shackled and killed, or being killed in a sucker punch type of way. Great video.
Exactly. Like how are you gonna kill this mighty commander who united thousands and was an absolute beast in battle with a bullet that wasn't even meant for her? Just doesn't sit right.
@@S1INS yea octavia fell from a cliff after getting stabbed, and people’s consciousness were put into drives, and yet she died to a stray bullet? I get that lexa had to die bc she went to a primary role in FTWD but she coulda had a better death like jumping in front of the bullet to save Clarke or saving Clarke in some way
People dying in random is kinda realistic.......but I don't think majority of characters dies in weak ways. Look at Monty, Jasper, Kane, even Jasper and Finn's death.
Fucking hell Lexa. I apoligise for not liking you back in season two! you're a badass! (stylish as hell and absolutely gorgeous. Command me anytime, Heda 😉 😂)
I never really liked Lexa, but I have to admit that this fight always gives me chills. One of the few parts of The 100 I actually like...😆😆 And I gotta admit that The 100 could have had more potential, if it had stuck to stuff like the Unrest between the Grounders we see in Season 3, how this affects the Skypeople...and cool things like this fight. I can just shake my head at what happened instead and I don't even know when I stopped watching anymore.
agreed, it had so much potential to be such a great show but they killed off the best characters and the writing was terrible after like season 3. i still love this show for some reason though
Lexa was a bad a** bish... she made the king even when he asked for death... that's mercy at it's finest!... long live the king, although she could take him at whatever moment she chooses... VERY good move as commander.
I love the 100 but it wasn't the same without Lincoln, Finn, Lexa, Jasper,Monty, Harper like when they all died I cried like I lost someone I truly loved
i just relised how many of the cast from the 100 turned up in either fear of walking dead ore the walking dead itself would be hella epic so somehow see the surviving cast that now play parts in FTWD and TWD 1 day meet up again in that universe
