Yes 10 was very good earlier this evening. I heard George working you Simon. West coast was also booming in to me here in NI. A short time ago I was hearing a VK on 14.155 and he was 59++ Conditions are on the way up ! Roll on winter.
I really like to work the 10m repeaters as well. VE3MMX is a very relieable one, and a third receiver has been added to increase the performance. Another one is on RX 29.620, KQ2H, which is also very loud and strong here in Germany this fall. 73s de DO1LR
@@chrille2409 nice one on working the repeators. I have been on the FM band for a couple of solar cycles and you also get Russian repeators as well as China and Japan occasionally higher up past 29.700. it's well worth checking out 👍
Hey bro. Great to see 10m active. Good to see you are able to get into the repeater in Canada. I just tried to get into it from here. No success. Will try to on and off. Hope all is well there. Down one of the ladies here for the school year until the tail end of November for a week. Talk soon bro. :) 73 to you and your ladies from your "Oregon family"
@simontemplar0468 hi Pat and family, I saw your emails but been flat out busy. One happy looking girl on the photo hope you don't miss her too much. Catch up soon 73
@@M0YKSHamRadio No worries bro. I know you are a busy guy, just as I am here. Yes, she is very happy. We got to FaceTime with her last night. I am stopping by to see her this upcoming weekend for a couple hours. Please say hi to your ladies for us. 73
Had lots of fun working through the Catskill Mountains repeater, not sure if it's still running. Pretty pointless but once worked a local around 20 miles away through it.
I also used to work the local repeater over here on my way in and out of work. Back then there was a lot of mobile ops on work bound journeys. The repeators were all good and really busy with good Net activities on a evening as well. Sadly all the old timers have gone off after reaching retirement and a few are SK. These days I seldom operate repeators from the mobile and use HF most days. Still got a few more drives to work before Im done so maybe I will try 10 FM mobile and see if I can hit this one. 73 thanks for the comment
@newsles2 don't worry this is just a heads up to remind you guys to check out 10 fm and 10 am. You will get plenty of opportunities from now. Let's see if we can catch each other over the next few weeks. 73 good DX
@G7HLV-dx7gi yes it wad a bit later this evening by the time I got to my beloved shack 😁 I was visiting family in the next county (Lancashire) which is about an hours run where I was /M on 20m which was OK but into EU. I made a few qso. 73 thanks for the comment
@davidbridge3542 lol that's funny 😁 good to hear you are getting on with the Sat stuff, nice one 👍 I'll be at it again soon so listen out. Wonder if you have had any luck in rx SO-50. Thanks for leaving the comment 73
Early evening today has been superb on 10m ssb, I’m looking at reviews on the FTDX101MP so got to ask are you happy with the transceiver and would you still recommend it? I’m hoping to move on to a rig with 200 watts which hopefully means I might not need an amplifier over the next few good years of activity etc, thanks for the interesting videos, cheers G0INL
@nozzer6686 Thanks for watching 😁👍 yes super conditions again it's absolutely amazing how it just kicks in.. I really feel totally satisfied with the purchase of my FTDX101MP, I have had it now just over 2 years and recently updated everything, which was easy and straightforward. As for operating the RX is something else when compared to my FT-1000mp, the reception quality is totally insanely clear with awesome noise reduction and elimination. It's good without the filters but when you get used to it the filters are exceptionally good. The audio quality out is brilliant I receive regular compliments regarding my audio using the built-in dsp eq. I have amplifiers which can run 400/500w but since I got this radio I have never bothered to switch on the amp, warm the valves and tune up. I have been working just as well with 200w and loving the fast band hopping without any fuss. I have not come across any faults or complaints in any way. I paid the full £4200 and don't regret it. So you can get the idea I like it a lot, and sadly I am not sponsored by yaesu or anyone, so I do genuinely mean what I say 😁👍 it's a keeper and in my opinion the best HF performing radio and looks great in any shack. Hope you can get one for yourself 73
@@M0YKSHamRadio Hi Simon, many thanks for your overview of your experience with the 101MP, I will be going to Newark Hamfest at the weekend so I think I might be coming home with a big box lol, hope to catch you on the bands, thanks again, Leighton
