Mi-35 Hind speed are 335 kph. Black Hawk speed 295 kph. Number 3-1 it's not pure helicopter, it's like hybrid between helicopter 🚁 and airplane 🛫 They are not belong to comparison.
Sorry, but you have some mistakes in this video. The last helicopter is not the AugustaWestland (Leonardo) AW159 Wildcat, but the Bell/Boing V-22 Osprey. Also, if you enter the Osprey, you must also enter the Leonardo AW609 which is the second fastest helicopter. Also the Max speed of the Lynx is not 400 kph it is 324 kph, so the 324 kph are also not the cruise speed of the Lynx. You also missed the Leonardo AW101 (EH101 Merlin) which has a max speed of 309 kph. Also there is the Sikorsky S-97 Raider with a max speed of 407 kph to 444 kph depending on the source, if you do Experimantel Helicopters in here like the X2 and X3, this would be also a must. And what is about the Leonardo AW139M with a max speed of 310 kph, or also the Bell AH1Z Viper as it has an official max speed of 370kph. I like your videos, but this time you missed something.
Osprey is in fact a plane not a chopper. The Eurocopter X3, it is not even official with its speed as unofficially it exceeded the Sikorsky X2 unofficial speed. As these 3 aircraft should be excluded as 1 is an aeroplane and the other 2 are not even recognised officially by the FAI for rotorcraft speed record. So officially that leaves the Westland Lynx.
@@jonathanpatrick8506 Very true like a F-35B and the Harrier variants are vertical lift fighter/attack jets. Although really, the F-35B is more fighter/attack than the harrier variants because of the speed and larger control surfaces of the F-35B.
The Blackhawk is not faster than a Chinook. When I went through Air Assault School in 2005, the actual top speed of the Army's Chinooks was classified.
The concept of which is the fastest helicopter depends on what is the definition of a helicopter. I have been a helicopter engineer and aircrew, a volunteer and tour guide at the helicopter museum for many years, so feel I am reasonably qualified to comment. A conventional helicopter is a rotary wing aircraft in which both lift and directional thrust are provided by one or more powered rotor systems, with or without a torque compensating system . This definition includes a single main rotor with a tail rotor, a tandem rotor system as in the Chinook, concentric rotor systems as in the various Kamov designs, the intermeshing rotor systems of Kaman, originally designed by Anton Flettner, and the latest NOTAR designs from McDonnell Douglas (now part of Boeing) that use the COANDA principle for torque compensation. All these designs rely on the overhead rotor systems to provide both lift and directional thrust, and are defined as conventional helicopters. When an additional means of powered directional thrust is provided, such as a powered propeller or jet powered thrust is added, then the definition of ‘ Compound Helicopter’ is applied. For a conventional helicopter with single main rotor and tail rotor, the World Speed record is held by G-LYNX, A Westland Helicopters Lynx, achieved in 1986. It is a Lynx, especially modified by Westland to challenge the record previously held by a Russian Mil 24 Hind. This aircraft, along with its history and details of the record breaking flight over the Somerset levels in South West England can be seen at the Helicopter Museum at Weston Super Mare in North Somerset, which houses the largest collection of historic helicopters in the world, with many examples of all types of helicopters and autogyros from UK, US and Europe.
@@Sleepysod Yeah I know, just sharing «fun facts». BTW, the helicopter from the 80's movie «Blue Thunder» is an Aérospatiale Gazelle with various pieces glued onto it. That chopper 'could' have made this list, depending on definition of «maximum speed».
The more armor you remove the faster a helicopter can fly, the apache may be slow but it's the only helicopter I've seen reverse backwards straight up in the air:)
The actual helicopter used in the show is a Bell 222 with various bits and pieces glued onto it. The real life version is not fast enough to make this list 😅
Funny to see the Eurocopter with the two turboprops. I «invented» something very similar when drawing as a boy in the 90's 😅 I also had one with jet engines!
