One of the reasons a 13 - month calendar is rejected by many is that the year can't be divided into two halves with an equal number of months. An alternate proposal is a calendar of 12 months, with eight months having 30 days and four having 31, with an extra day added to complete the year (2 extra in leap years).

While we do not observe the 13th month... I look at it like this... if you're salary... paid weekly... about every couple of months you end up with a fifth pay period. Over the year.( my monthly bills and living expenses take up 4 weeks of pay).. those 5 pay day months are kinda a week worth of extra income. Which amounts to about a month of extra money not going to bills in a year..

I thought that the calendar that we use , Makes No sense , So I tried Different numbers combinations until I got to 13 it just works .

I heard that the ancient calendar with 13 months had 2 months with 40 days and those months one fell with April showers and the other would be when the state fair comes to town.
