I love how, even when I only see it in a video, I can FEEL the force of the pretzel loop on Tatsu... I love the dive into it, but it feels like the bottom of it feels like it takes forever. 10/10, favorite coaster at SFMM. I haven't been on any other flying coasters, but I definitely feel as if nothing could compare to that one.
It's almost unbearable because not only is there a hard rattle right at the bottom, but the high G's cause your entire body to endure the full force of the vibration. I still love Tatsu a lot though :D
@@caydenwaltersmusic it's not tge bottom that gets me, it's the ascent back up from the bottom. Hated it the very first time, swore I wouldn't go on it again. Then I did when I went back, and I knew what to expect, and to brace myself, then I saw how enjoyable the first half of the loop was. It feels more intense than the helix on Goliath tbh.
This is the only RU-vid channel I have push notifications enabled for and I don't think I'll ever turn them off. The quality of content is just too good.
Some other demonic elements: LRod's quad down Jack Rabbit's double down Alpengeist's cobra roll Montu's batwing Pheonix's airtime finale Expedition geforce's first drop Twisted timbers' twisted airtime hill under the lift SteVe's second outer banked airtime hill Twisted Cyclone's wave turn Blue Fire's final barrel roll Dodonpa's launch
I went on Intimidator 305 when it first opened, before the revisions. My friend and I waited for the front, and we both blacked out for pretty much the rest of the ride after the turn. I’m honestly glad they fixed it.
If restraints could be counted as an element, I would put those hard-ass restraints on Discovery Kingdom's Kong on here. I don't know if they've changed them since I've been there, but the ones that I experienced must have been designed by Satan himself.
I've been on the woody at Playland. The entire ride is crazy rough in that classic wooden roller coaster way. You really feel like you're barely staying on the track, and I distinctly remember gripping that lap bar for dear life.
X2 is the only ride of these I went on I would also add the vertical drop in pitch black darkness of "Fluch von Novgorod" and the seesaw tilt element on "Winjas" spinning coaster
Honestly I believe the reason why that first drop on time traveler catches so many people off guard is because people aren’t used to just starting off a coaster plummeting down from the start. It’s a very opposite experience from what people are used to with a roller coaster starting out going up instead of down first
I rode Intimidator 305 on opening day and I think I have a high tolerance because I didn't black out, but one of my family members did. It was insane and probably the best part of the ride, the airtime hill even with the hard plastic restraints was also insane.
Dude great choices and great music. I really need to get to Magic Mountain and Cedar Point after this pandemic BS. Never been to either. Tatsu looks nuts!
The one for my list would be that roll at the top of Superman: Ultimate Flight at Discovery Kingdom. Probably just cause of my experience of losing all grip once and having to trust only the lap bar as the train slowly twisted around. It was a pretty crazy ride that time.
Sadly closed now due to very high parts and maintenance costs but I absolutely loved (not everyone did!) the crazy lift hill /drop of G Force at Drayton Manor- the unique sensation of the lift hill chain ending partway through an inversion (vertical loop) so that you were basically launched like you were falling backwards head first and arching over was as awesome as it was unique- very intense and high pressure, hence not to everyone's taste, but I totally loved it and hope it returns on a future coaster in some way. We're so used to conventional elements these unusual ones give that bit of brain scrambling gravity remixing fun where you just know how unique the particular sensations you're experiencing are. Surprise playful elements are fun too, such as The Smiler's early inversion and even the minor ones such as Shockwave's fake first drop before the real one. More of this please designer peeps!
Just some that could have made the list: Fury 325's "endless" drop The four-down of the apocalypse on Lightning Rod White Lightning's super compact double-up double-down and 90 degree banked turnaround Dragonflier's overbank - which would especially surprise you since it's on a Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster. Do Dodonpa's launch Eejanaika's... everything. I know that it's almost identical to X2, but the smoother ride really improved the whole ride experience while still maintaining the absolute insanity of an S&S/Arrow multidimensional.
Only if X2 still had the ride audio working... I was there on a Sunday, the day after the park was closed because of the fire, and the fire affect was off. The park was SO EMPTY
Should have included the cobra roll/pretzel loop (not sure what to call it cause it kinda looks like both) on Viper at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The most evil thing ever.
-Expedition GeForce's twisty hill right after the banked turn section -Voyage's triple down -PNE Coaster -Outlaw Run's 90-degree dive under the lift hill -X2 -Nemesis's final corkscrew There are so many more; that's just the tip of the iceberg, or... fireberg? (since it's Halloween)
Rode Intimidator 305 sometime within the first two seasons of it being open. Can confirm. I literally blacked out during the first turn and regained all of my vision instantaneously on the first negative hill. It was...kind of too intense. The rest of the ride was super intense as well and would probably have been more fun if I wasn't mentally and physically recovering from losing my vision and part of my consciousness.
What about Verbolten's unexpected dip in the tunnel? Or Griffin's dangling for 5 seconds and then sudden straight down bullshit on the first drop? Unless these are found in other coasters, but they still scare the shit out of me.
I have to say. Desert Storm in Arizona is on my list. The first drop in the back row whips you so much. I was not prepared for it but it took my breath away. The rides 2nd loop is also insane the back. Desert Storm is really intense and underated
I'm glad you gave some respect to the woodies, especially in the lower half of the list. I was really hoping to see the four back-to-back airtime hills on the Phoenix at Knoebels, though.
I think i remember riding the I-305 when it first was announced, that 90+ MPH banked turn is was fucking CRUSHING. I was still a bit more of a kid at the time, so i survived the blackout effect being smaller and all, but I'd lie if i said that that turn wasn't a fucking menace. Shame to hear it got nerfed, but it's understandable.
I don't know if you have been on stealth at Thorpe park. The launch on that makes you go from 0 - 80 in 2 seconds by far the most powerful launch ov been on
I'm not sure if this one would be quite as insane as the ones on this list, but I like the 45 degree twisted spike on V2 at Discovery kingdom. Although the front row isn't anything special on that ride (or the back row even), that twist gives some insane hangtime to the middle row on the first launch. The rest of the ride is not really that great, and it's definitely not some of Intamin's finest work, but it's definitely unique if nothing else.
Thats a nice Halloween speciel haha. I liked how you made the elements seem like evil demons!! Tornado at Bakkens first drop is deffenetly the most demonic i have expeienced!
Oh, I'm glad that the only one that I've experienced on this list is in the top three. Makes me feel like I'm missing out a little less lol But real talk, that vertical drop out of the station on Time Traveler is just ridiculous. It's probably my favorite thing that I've ever experienced in life.
Great list! Really like that both elements from Cannibal made the list as well as X2 first drop and Tatsu pretzel loop. What about the Voyage spaghetti bowl? I find that a little more demonic than the Beast helix, but that is just me.
I know why you didn’t put it on the list, since you’ve never ridden it, but I feel like the demonic knot on Flug Der Daemonen should get an honorable mention 😂 But honestly, this is a great list. Thank you for your quality content!
I genuinely think I'm the only one who doesn't like the pretzel loop. I've done it on Superman at SFGAm and I hurt myself on that. I'm gonna have to do tatsu once in my life, if I ever get to sfmm
Theme Park Insanity Time Warp is the worst installment in the Tomb Raider franchise. Worse than Angel of Darkness. Also, Paramount and video game adaptations don’t mix. Just look at Sonic!
X2 was and still is the only roller coaster to ever genuinely scare me, I took my first ride in the very last row, on the outside seat on the ride side, and it was the most intense thing ever, and I loved it
I went on X2 with my friend during a school field trip. Ive known my friend for a long time and SFMM was his first ever theme park. He is a very quiet person so I was already excited to see his reactions. We first went on Tatsu, which was his first ever roller coaster, and surprisingly, he didnt scream in fear, he actually enjoyed it. Towards the end of the day, we went on X2. When putting on the vest restraint, he was starting to get worried as he thought it wasnt tight enought. Ride attendant came, checked 2x, said he was fine. Once we were on the lift hill, he was getting even morw worried. Then came, THE DROP, it was insane and he screamed out of actual fear! I was scared too but after hearing him scream, I kept laughing throughout the ride. Best ride experience ever!
I like how basically all of these are Werner Stengel and Alan Schilke. Their both madmen and I love them for the insane crap they put on roller coasters.
fuck that ride tho it tried to kill me. i used to laugh at people who would tell me the restraints opened on them. cus like how unrealistic is that right? and then it fucking happened to me....
