The 1950s, saw an exceptional rise in popularity, at beach towns up and down the Jersey Shore. Tourists and vacationers were making their way to the sandy beaches of places like Belmar, Stone Harbor, and Seaside Heights.
Families were now renting beach houses and bungalows. While others were staying at stylish new motels, featuring outdoor decks, swimming pools, and diving boards. Boardwalk Piers, seafood restaurants, cotton candy, and exciting new amusement rides, all added to the fun. The 1950s Jersey Shore scene was an exhilarating place to be.

1:07 - I knew that guy when he was the pastor of a church, maybe 20 years ago. I had forgotten that he grew up in Atlantic City.

@@historyofthejerseyshore Yes, Norman Goos. He started a church in Egg Harbor City. But he's now a member of the Sons of the Revolution, and is involved in a lot of historical stuff. It was interesting to see him in your interview.

@@MillerMeteor74 That's great to know. He seems like the go-to-guy for historical information in that area. He's also featured in other videos on the channel if you're interested in watching: The First Settlers, The First Resorts, Early Atlantic City. All of the videos can also be found in the full documentary I recently posted. Thanks for watching!

By the way, they're all great people at the Atlantic County Historical Society where I filmed the interviews. If you get a chance you should stop in.
