Electrolux USA's first commercial vacuum cleaner, made for schools, churches, stores, hospitals, etc...this one is a very nice example, well taken care of and lightly used in a Chicago funeral home and later in a private residence. The original turquoise woven 10 foot hose has been replaced, but otherwise I believe the machine is all-original. Included were two boxes of replacement bags and a NIB Turbo Rug Washer. One very intriguing optional accessory that I do not have was the "Wet Pickup Kit" which included a rubber hose, squeegee tool, and a tank with float that fit in place of the cloth and paper bags inside of the machine.

Back when machines were made to last and they were a real worthwhile investment. How standards have fallen!

I agree with you. The Electrolux model G was THE finest vacuum the company ever put out. The got everything right. Great design, best color, quietest motor. Everything they made after was a step back. The special brush roll with the extra rows was also used the the Hospital G which was essentially just a regular G but with a silencer on the back, making an already near silent vacuum even quieter.

Hey Owen, that Electrolux sounds wonderful. By the way, for what it's worth, you do a great job of describing things, since I can't see my screen, I get a lot out of your descriptions. The motor on that machine sounds wonderful, a D flat note, that was a very common pitch of vacuum motors in that time period. The G.E. motor and the two stage motor that Lamb Electric was making that that time had the same pitch. Interestingly, even though that motor is a 700 watt motor, it's the same pitch as the motor that was used in the model G. I'm guessing most of the vacuum motors of that time ran at a similar speed. What a contrast to the high pitch screaming jet sounding motors so common in portable vacuums today. I much prefer the sound of these older motors, much more pleasant.

I have the very first CB, the one that came after this. I paid so much for it that I was ill until I unpacked it and saw how beautiful the thing was. Someone in his family owned a flower shop and that’s what that had and used. The thing was immaculately clean when I got it too. All buyers remorse immediately vaporized!!

Yes we must preserve these machines. Electrolux don’t make them like that now. It is also a floor polisher Beautiful

I've heard that the extra rows of bristles on the commercial power nozzles put more strain on the motor.

Beautiful machine!! I have an Electrolux CB model which is nice! I think the early version of the CAs had a shorter cloth hose, but I'm not sure! Lots of luck with it!!

Great video! I collect Electroluxes specifically, with hoovers and a few others on the side. You are thinking of the "chevron" logo from the 70's-80's.
