Callum here..... Linda Peacock was my aunt. I was just short of 9 when she was murdered. At 15, Linda was more of an older sister to me rather than my Mother's sister. I remember Linda so well. She was a beautiful, fun loving and wonderful young person. Please be assured, that despite the fact that this horrible crime was committed over half a century ago, Linda is still remembered fondly by all her remaining family. I was at her grave very recently where she lies to rest beside her older sister Jean and her father, George. Our Papa. Family members visit her regularly. Gordon Hay may have taken Linda from our world - but he has not broken the bonds of family love. Linda is as important to us today as she always was....Linda may have become part of a 'Forgotten Scotland' RU-vid stream..... But, she is not forgotten by her family.... Not in the slightest.
I am a distant relative of Linda. My Grandad was Tom Peacock, her uncle. He died 5 years before I arrived, so don't know much about that side of the family
Thank you for another interesting story. I think that it is really fitting that victims of crime such as this are not allowed to be forgotten, they deserve to be remembered and your work is helping to ensure this, well done.
I have a personal connection with the case. My late father worked at the Glasgow Dental Hospital in 1967 as a Dental Technician. He made the dental plates which the professor, who had special permission, then took into the mortuary and then pressed into the cadavers with varying degrees of force to see what sort of marks would be left and if these were unique. This meant that they could be used to identify the teeth that made them, otherwise the evidence could not be used in court. Later, it was noted in the Bible John cases, that one of the victims had also been bitten and the two front teeth in the killer's top set crossed over in a particular way. The chief officer in the case had a set of teeth made up to match and carried it round in his pocket, hoping to help identify the killer.
I lived in biggar. got married and my son . I knew som of the peakocks a beautiful family. I was married to David McCone. I am so sorry about this story.
