I find this version of the song better than the one on the album due to Matty’s flaws in his voice. While on the album, Matty’s voice is flawless and almost angelic, the song itself reflects one’s flaws by referring to the person he decides to satisfy his flaws with, a ‘mistake’. That’s why I feel like this version is better at giving the message with its raw sound. thanks for coming to my tedtalk
This song holds so many messages for me. It can be seen as using someome to forget somebody else, cheating on somebody because of self loathing, or from the perspective of being cheated on

Its funny how my my ex-boyfriend send me this song when we are still together. I pointed out that this song's message is "using someone because you can't forget your past." 2 weeks later we broke up he said he is not ready to have a relationship and he doesn't like the fact that we always have sex when we are together. Him: Mali kasi na nag se-sex tayo. Di tayo kasal. (its wrong that we are having sex we are not even merried.) Me: eh bakit ngayon mo lang sinabi? I love how the song gave sad and tragic point of view for mistresses. That's why guys, no matter what happens, never be one. Not only will you ruin someone else's relationship, but also ruin yourself. Also, to the men and women who chose to have a mistress, stop. That's plain wrong. Change. Idk if the term “mistress” goes for both men and women since i'm not quite good with english myself, but it is what it is. Having a toxic and abusive partner is never a reason to have a mistress. Talk things out, break free from that relationship, and when everthing's sorted out, be together with the partner you wanted to be. If you're already married to that abusive partner, then be separated with him/her first. I don't think the person whom you'll be with after your separation will still be called a mistress. Aahh idk how to explain clearly basta putang ina kung deserve ng putanginang abusive partner mo na maiwan, iwanan mo, at humanap ka ng bago pabayaan mo na kahit kasal kayo kasi putangina deserve nya maiwan dahil ang toxic nyang putangina nya.
