In the studio version I like to think that the whoozy little synth at the start of the song is like the truth of loneliness and drug abuse, and then the song itself is like a great big party that just covers the truth right up. Brilliant song

Honestly, At Their Very Best was one of, if not the best, tour in the last decade or so. It’s crazy to me that their songs get very little radio AirPlay but their tours are consistently sold out
I’ve seen the 1975 live several times now and I always LOVE hearing this song live. But when I saw them on the last date of the NA leg of the tour, this song hit a little too hard because idk when I’d get to see them live again 🥲
Hopefully soon! Saw them twice last year (Leeds and Dundee) and earlier on this year in Manchester. Gutted the tour has ended, but I think it was needed. They must have been knackered.
