This song was playing in the hospital when I heard my daughter's heartbeat for the first time when I was pregnant so the line "I know when you're around cos I know the sound of your heart" always brings happy tears to my eyes. I also saw them live in Brighton, November 2015 when I was 12 weeks pregnant. This album brings back so many happy memories!
@@lilac.mascara Why stressful for the baby? She was comfy inside me and was the size of a tangerine! I had seat ticket and wasnt standing so could rest anytime I wanted to. Had the best time and it's a memory I'll cherish forever !
Clearly hospitals in the UK are cooler than they are in the US. Not sure what was playing during my doc appts while pregnant, but it was definitely NEVER the 1975.

if you like 80s sounds with modern high production values you should check out The Midnight and FM84 and Ollie Wride. They've faithfully recreated the 80s sound to perfection
Really lol? What do you guys hear in this band? I'm trying so hard to find something of interest in their music. This is like song #8 by them of people going on about it that just sounds so hopelessly generic and empty. Like compare this to a song like Amerika by Wintersleep or Other Man by Sloan - songs that have something to say while having a hook, a crescendo, something, anything. This generic upbeat elevator music is so bizarre to me
+Brendan MacInnis what? You hate new fans that are just getting into the music? You'd only heard one or two songs once too, so get off your high horse and let this person enjoy discovering some new music.
I have to disagree. At least 4 songs on the first album are better than this by far. Sex, pressure, the city and m.o.n.e.y are all better in my opinion.
@@monkchips you can't really look at it that way because the thing about the 1975 is that they get creative with their music style. Songs like the sound, sex, I like America and America likes me are very different and special in their on way. So there it isn't about which song is "better" because everyone feels and looks at it a different way.
There will always be plenty of haters for every band, every singer, every genre of music. I mean, c'mon, there's like 8 billion of us. It's not too surprising.
' it sounds like Justin Bieber's songs ' oh COME ON MAN, LIKE REALLY, HOW CAN YOU SAY THIS SOUNDS LIKE THAT COMMERCIAL SHIT LOL, u can't compare them and how on earth can this be boring? i just don't get it
January 2023 I was at the O2 to see them. We were all there for 'Somebody Else', 'Love it if we made it', 'About You' and 'Robbers'. But I tell you what, nothing rocked the place that night like 'The Sound' did. Absolutely superb!
So many people are upset that their style has changed, but all bands should be developing as they release more albums. If they don't then it's the same stuff over and over and the band isn't actually learning and growing. Change isn't always a bad thing.
I've been waiting for so long to see someone say that, thank you so much. Honestly I completely agree with you, because I see people get so upset that a band changed their style of music, but in the end it's the band's decision to change and the fan's decision to support that change.
+R. Aubrey B. It;s not change, it's EVOLUTION!! I heard glimpses of this in the last album, on tunes like "Girls", and they really built on it and made it better. And I think Matt's gonna eat his words. In prior interviews. he says they are not a pop band. Uh Matt, what do you call that??? That is pure 80ssynthnewwavepowerpop at it's finest. To me, if you don't have a killer pop sensibility, you're boring. Hooks rule. Bright choruses rule. Those "cliches" in the video do not apply. Pop music is SUPPOSED to be catchy, but the idea is to do it in such a way that is exciting and not formulaic. Familiar but with a twist of originality. Everything's been done before, yes, but give it a little fresh twist and some little familiar but either not obvious or forgotten about references, and you have a winner.
Morley Turner // That's literally the same thing I said worded differently. There is no difference between, "Their videos are so aesthetically pleasing," and, "Their aesthetics are pleasing."
+Morley Turner // The definition of aesthetic when being used as an adjective: concerned with beauty or the appreciation of beauty or the giving or design to give pleasure through beauty; of pleasing appearance. :) I'm using it correctly.
I love how everyone is commenting about everything except for the amazing concept behind this music video...How much criticism this bands gets, but in the end they just don't care. Hence the role reversal of the critics being in the box and the band being outside staring in. Kind of like a big "F*** you, look where we're at now" kind of message. The 1975 has my full support!
ok but did anyone else cry reading those messages? they were all from actual people and I had to stop the video because it was making me cry so much lol
Very 80s in every way. 80s sound like Tears for Fears, Howard Jones, Ultravox & Midge Ure and Nik Kershaw etc plus the videos and makeup etc.. I love the fact they're so different to any other band nowadays but my god they're so 80s it's great. Amazing band. x
The best moment of my life was when I went to their concert in a small club in a different city (actually another state, I took my first flight ever, alone, to see them in a city that I didn’t know), but it was totally worth it, it looked like a cult, it was surreal, and the craziest part is that everytime I listen to these songs in the total dark I can feel exactly the way I felt in their presence. I just love them so mush I can’t barely describe
Discovered this because of a vlog haha! (Gabriel Conte/Jess). Anyway, at first I thought this is a happy love pop song but listening to the lyrics it is like a break up song and the guy is happy that he is free? Cool song!
it started slow upon the wedding the reception... then sooner I've realized that it was an 1975 soundtrack and I was like ohhhh mmmyyy buddy! whoaaaahhh!!!!!! didn't saw that coming. HAHAH im just glad that I was an avid fan of matty!
i think this whole entire album is the 1975 revisited. all of the songs on each album correlate with a song on the other album. it's like they took the last album and upgraded it. i love it.
I heard this song for the first time yesterday in the pharmacy. I am addicted! I had never heard of these guys, but I’ve been binge listening to their music and LOVE all of it! What a find! ❤❤❤
British bands are hard to top. I hope you get another prescription for those 1975 pills 💊 😂✌🏻✌🏻🏴 I filmed them recently ru-vid.comdrNBeDScZXA?feature=share
