“They’re not filing taxes separately when they should be filing jointly” What? Also you are saying to invest and all that to pay off the tax bomb, so essentially instead of paying off the loan in 10 years by paying more you are saying to pay less for the loan but to put money off to the side for 20 years just to have to use it again to pay for the loan. You can do the same after only 10 years of paying the loan.
