I see lots of value in this and I'm just sitting back soaking it in so I can truly learn because this was one of my fears on how to go about it I love it your excellent at teaching
Your video was very informative and I understand the dollar amounts clients are losing in the examples. My question is how do you determine the dollar amount itself that you are charging the customer? I understood what you mean by value. I was curious however on how you determine the price you are giving the client.
Have you ever had a biz owner not buy into pain points and want to jump right to your fees? I know after a bookkeeping business has been established that you can be selective as far as who you work with, and I assume that if you’re established enough, you would just opt out of working with a client that’s priced and not value focused..is that a fair read on how some consults might play out?
It's happened once in a while but I simply redirect the conversation: "My fees are based on the quantity and complexity of the work to be done. If you're open to answering some questions about your business, I can determine if I'm the best fit for you. And if so, we can talk about what it looks like to work together."
How we can be sure that we will found those extra 5% of margin? If it's just out of their capability? And to analyze that I believe it's more an economist job?
What you're finding is the salary for bookkeeping employees. As a business owner, you'll always make far more. Check out the study that shows the average bookkeeping business owner makes $76 per hour here: proconnect.intuit.com/taxprocenter/practice-management/the-results-of-the-new-intuit-rate-survey-are-in/
Totally agree! The he lady I worked for paid me $31 an hr and we had ONE client that paid her $2k a month. We parted ways and I said to myself, “I can do that!”. So I’m head to learn how to start it on my own.
Not normally as we lead that conversation but if they do, you respond by outlining the negative impact of hourly billing, as it is a detriment to both you and the client.
I really enjoyed the presentation. But I did get a little lost when you were referring to your step by step list by pointing and using the word "This" step. I only have a cell phone at the present time. The words on your list are too hard to see. I was hoping you might refer to each step by the title you had given it. In order to clarify. Also, .,.. people who are listening while they work. Or driving, are not able to look at the screen to see what you are pointing to. So it would help if you state what you are pointing to by stating the topic. FYGI . 🐸 Thank You.
