"beefs an announcers chair at the Samoan Joe's". I dunno how one beefs somebody with an object but I'm about it! Is it like yeeting? I'm 35, f--- off internet!
@@callumcasey9156 For me, that award goes to "Mysterious Christerious" just from how much it made me laugh when I first heard it. To each their own though!
Either that, or the result of Teddy Long booking a show while high: A tag Team Match between Christian & Kane (Christian Hell) and Edge & Da Undertaka (The Edgetakers), playa!
LOL it remind me of 2016 when Simon was the most hated man on YT wrestling communitie just because he wasn´t Blampied XD... ah the good old days, i´m hapy to see Simon as one of the faces of the communitie thoug, such good chasima
I love the Hulk Hogan vs Shawn Michaels match at Summerslam 2005. Watching Shawn bounce around like a frog on a sugar high and Hogan loose his cool was sweet.
Same. It may have been petty, but in retrospect and considering what we know now about Hogan, he couldn't have chosen a better person to be petty toward. If your opponent isn't going to do the job for you when you agree to a 2 out of 3 matches and trading wins and is just going to change it so only they get a win, might as well make it so they don't benefit from that win.
Underrated match in my opinion. Obviously its not a classic wrestling match (I mean, its Hogan we're talking) but damn thats a fun match to watch...think I'm gonna see it again xD
The DQ ending to Angle/Austin is the only perfect DQ ending ever. When the result is getting called that Austin retained and Angle is like "You robbed me! No!! NOOO!!!!!!!!" blood pouring off his face, its so awesome
"My favorite match is king Mable vs diesel because I hate myself No but seriously, it's the oddities vs kaientai No but seriously, it's the undertaker vs giant gonzales No but seriously, it's lex Luger vs yokozuna No but seriously, it's the stink face match between terry ronnels and the Kat That one is actually true"
The only bad thing about those Cena matches is after he loses, you clearly the audience pop huge but WWE has to focus another camera on one or 2 people in disbelief for a long uncomfortable time
Great name lol WWE uploaded yesterday Punk vs Lesnar for free what banger match. That Summerslam is great we also had Bryan vs. Cena which was awesome too
For me the AJ Styles Vs. Cena match from 2016 is my favourite ever, I'm not one to jump out of my chair easily but that one did it, it was just wonderful.
@@simbarocksone It's hard tbh I loved their RR2017 match too also ngl their Smack-Down 2018 match is lowkey one of the best of all-time too with Cena legit acting full heel while the crowd actually helps AJ up to beat the 10 count.
It was extra special to me having been an aj styles fan for his whole career and when he went to wwe I’m not gonna lie I was worried he’d lose a feud against cena. And we all know how it turned out at the following rumble, but in the moment it felt like the culmination of a journey as I’m sure it did for styles. It was huge for me and I’m glad I got to see it live
I’m totally with you on the Brock/Cena match. Just for how unexpected it was alone. You couldn’t tell anyone at that time, Cena was about to be ran through like Oli’s ex Megan.
The guy that just ended the streak being a favourite to half the audience, because he just murdered the guy they didn't like, isn't good booking Imo. If he had done that to Bryan like originally planned, then I would give it all the credit in the world
I quite liked The Rock, Kurt Angle, HHH from 2000. Also maybe not the best match but Steve Blackman vs Shane McMahon for the end fall spot alone was incredible at the time.
I'm happy to see the love for Braun hasn't died out. He is everything Vince has ever wanted in a big attraction and everything fans wanted in a hoss. But Omos is a few inches taller so nevermind I guess, utter nonsense.
Braun had the size, the personality, was over and was really athletic for his size. I have no idea why vince would release him. If his pay was too high then, you know, NEGOTIATE.
Have you LOOKED at Vince lately? He aint right. Those weird lizardy eyes, slackness in the jaw, bloated and red. He's dying, and it's affecting his decision-making.
Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels in 2002 is definitely my favorite Summerslam match. You wouldn't know Shawn had been off for the previous 4 years watching it.
Loved Christian vs Randy in that 2011 feud! Definitely underrated. They had 6 matches for the title and each one gave you something slightly different that increased the intensity from 2 of the best storytellers of my generation. So good
Can we all please take a moment to truly appreciate just how inventive and always hilarious the undertaker names are? Scary Sinclair - Frightener extraordinaire
I feel like Brock Lesnar Vs The Rock is kinda underrated. Rock really went the extra mile to put Lesnar over as the guy to carry the company. But I respect the choices, and now I have some matches to check out 🤘🏽
It's really sad that TLC1 gets overlooked because of TLC2, because it's arguably the better match. I recently rewatched both of them, and found TLC2 surprisingly not holding up to how good it was in my memory. There was way more noticable construction going on which hurt the flow of the match. My guess is that TLC2 is just more famous because of the Spear off the ladder-spot, which became one of the most replayed scenes in WWE history. TLC1 kinda lacked that iconic moment among all the carnage.
Adam could you do lists of the best and worst wrestling adverts ever? Like the Super Bowl ad that was super super bad, you know the one. And also, the new BT Sport advert that has Adam Cole doing a thunderdome entrance and Pete Dunne sitting next to Michael Cole at the comms table in full gear for an entire half a second. Please, it would be super super good.
I strangly agree with #1, it is not the best match by any sort but hell that match is unbelievably memorable It was something nobody expected, I myself was expecting a superhero comeback at the end 😂😂 It still a match that comes to my mind when I hear summerslam
To me it’s just another ppv. The only ppv that has that special big show aura to me is the rumble. Even mania has lost its charm to me and is just another ppv
I love the Cena vs Lesnar match from 2014 like I love Goldberg squashing Lesnar at Survivor Series. I just love when in this day and age, where us wrestling fans pretty much know every rumour out there, something truly surprising and unexpected happens.
My Top 10 Favorite SummerSlam Matches: 10. Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar SummerSlam 2003 9. TLC Match SummerSlam 2000 8. CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar SummerSlam 2013 7. John Cena vs Daniel Bryan SummerSlam 2013 6. John Cena vs AJ Styles SummerSlam 2016 5. Shawn Michaels vs Triple H SummerSlam 2002 4. Bret Hart vs Mr. Perfect SummerSlam 1991 3. Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon Ladder Match SummerSlam 1995 2. Bret Hart vs Owen Hart Steel Cage Match SummerSlam 1994 1. Bret Hart vs The British Bulldog SummerSlam 1992
Here's my thing about that Cena/Lesnar match. On one hand, I'll always remember it as I watched it with a bunch of comedians in Edinburgh, including Colt Cabana, and the confusion on his face at what was transpiring was unforgettable. Secondly, I don't think this match would have had the impact it had if Cena hadn't won the first match. For me it was a quietly told story of Lesnar underestimating Cena in that first match, and still Cena needed the 87th airbourne to win. So it's programmed that this match would be the same. But no, it was the brutal murder that some hoped for the first time. And it was a joy.
My favorite part about the Cena/Brock match was the aftermath. They couldn't bear for Cena to seem hurt, so they had him destroy the Wyatt Family just a few months after their feud was over, then he basically undid all the magic in the rematch with Brock.
My personal favourite SummerSlam match is Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar from 2019; just super fast paced fun (Brock swinging Rollins by the rib tape was fantastic)that got the crowd back on Rollin’s side for one night only.
It was such a great match everyone booed Rollins at the start of the match but as the match proceeded everyone started to cheer Rollins A star was made that night
Personally TLC 1 is possibly my favorite match of all time. It's pretty much a spot fest, but was one of the first matches I ever saw and blew my mind. It still does.
My favourite is Owen and Bret. I watched that on the edge of my seat not knowing who I wanted to win. I get goosebumps just talking about it! But the list is full of fantastic matches. Thank you xx
My favorite Summerslam match was the DX and the McMahons match. Triple H and Shawn Michaels take a world class beating in the first half, and then entertainingly bounce back in the second half.
I have watched the Suplex City match literally 23,796 times because that's how many times Cena got put through the mat. Its the best squash match the world didn't even know it wanted or needed!
You are so right about TLC 1. It is forgotten due to the sequel at X-7. But the original in my opinion was just as good. I was there in the crowd and we knew we were seeing history. Should have easily been top 3
In response to 7:42, the best Austin match to not feature the Rock is easily Bret Hart; but even if you included the Rock, it would still be Bret at Wrestlemania 13 then Triple H at No Way Out 2001
I was there for the Hardy vs CM Punk TLC match (in fact you can actually see me @ 6:01 in the top right corner wearing a John Cena shirt with the green logo). The crowd was incredibly into that match and the pop was even louder when Undertaker returned and chokeslammed Punk. Best match I've seen in person!
At this point, I hope The Undertaker keeps featuring in Adam's lists so I can keep hearing ridiculous nicknames like "scary Sinclair: frightener extraordinaire"
My personal favorite SummerSlam match will always be Undertaker vs Edge 2008 because it's the first match that i saw the entire buildup to when I started watching wrestling as a five year old. It will always hold a special place in my heart :)
Kurt Angle vs Stone Cold at Summerslam 2001 always gets overlooked and it’s one of my favorite matches of all time! I’m glad it was included in this list!
I agree with Adam SS 2002 is what got me into wrestling. I was babysitting my sister's kid and she recorded it via VHS so I couldn't change it. That whole show had me going nuts and re watching all that came before.
One of my personal favourite Summerslam matches is the Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins lumberjack match in 2014, it fills a crazy amount of action into a short amount of time and the electric crowd really add to it
That 2003 Raw match between HBK & HHH for the World Heavyweight Title was a very good match. You should’ve shown a photo of their HIAC match at Bad Blood 2004. That match went way too long.
Trish vs. Charlotte and Rock vs. Angle vs. HHH deserves some love. I was shocked that Hardy vs. RVD didn't make the list because it was so much fun to see. Number one was a shock but I don't think of it as all time great in my opinion also Perfect vs. HBK in 93 for the IC title was grossly underrated as well.
