Unfortunately the Netflix captions actually name him Singed despite him not having that name throughout the series so if you had those on, the surprise was lost

Thing was, because of the way the parts were split, it was impossible for you to not know that if you watched it as it came out, because everyone was saying "this is singed!" before the scarf reveal

Notice how they made him use the scarf. If powder didn't blow up the facility he won't wear the scarf to hide his burned scars

Arcane made me want to play Singed but then I remembered his gameplay is pressing Q and running around while spamming laugh.

Well singed in game is horrible mechanically, because mechanics don't interest him. Singed is there purely to succeed by winning the game, not defeating his foes. He is focused on Macro play like wave management, zoning, diversions, resource management and movement. The perfect mastermind.

Oh, Singed has barely gotten started. Not only will he probably play a bigger role in Season 2, but he might come back at least in the background of subsequent Arcane seasons (fingers crossed).

I think he has a lot of empathy towards people but he will never stop doing what he does I like to think that he will try to help everybody that he can help, but if an important person tries to interfere in his inhuman experiments, he won't care and will just keep doing it That's a duality I really apreciate

@@isaacpianos5208 i think it boils down to big picture before detail. His experiments have a price to them, but long term they might improve humanity. He will help a few people on the way when its available, but he also sees sacrifices as a necessary evil. its the price for progress in his mind.

Singeds lore has been like this for a LONG time. his flavor stories have been some of the best.

His old pasive was extra mana into hp, using His shield as a conduct

Look at the medaille he's holding in the last episode, it looks so much like Orianna that it just can't be a coïncidence.

Okay but, consider, when he first appears he's not that old. Just middle-aged and incredibly... banal. Could pass as an office worker. He's only disfigured and scarred because of Jinx's blast in episode 3. His medicine didn't cause the disfigurement. On the other hand in his early interactions with Viktor he looks basically the same as he does before Jinx blows him up(a gap of maybe ten, fifteen years?), so you may still be right about him aging slower/being really old.

Didn't really think about that. Seems to me the jump between Viktors flashback and present is about 25 years, based on how young Viktor looked back then. Another point that adds weight to your argument - Singed used to work with Heimerdinger. I'd say anyone that works with the founder of the city and the dean of the academy is going to be somewhat well known, at least among the academy students and staff. So... maybe that was a long time ago. Like 100 years ago or something.

@@foxytoxic2624 I'm almost certain that in Season 2 Mel's mom will be pressuring Piltover heavily to give them hextech weapons, only for them to ultimately refuse- only for Singed to step in through some form of deal to develop them more 'experimental' weapons in exchange for access to some of the demological magic stuff going on in Noxus in his increasing efforts. Would be a perfect way to marry his old lore to the new, as well as set up... pretty damn near every single Ionian champion lol since he's prominent in the backstory of all of them

By this logic, kills and ruins the most lives too. How many have lives were affected negatively by shimmer? A lot. Let's go Singed!

@@JV-km9xk singed is just the perfect scientist without empathy trope. While he saves people he never does it out of good or selfless intentions, he only saves people if it contributes to his own agenda like defying death and creating mutants

Singed interpreted it correctly, that Silco is _not_ prepared to lose her. Which is why he drugged him. Not only watching the process of her "recovery" would've been unbearable for Silco, and he would try to intervene, but in case something goes wrong - which it could've - Silco wouldn't be able to handle it.

Those ethical boundaries are what have caused many more deaths though. Singed is determined to achieve his goals for some greater purpose. If somebody had discovered the way to heal any injury and disease, or even reverse death, wouldn't you use it, even if somebody had sacrificed thousands to invent it? Wouldn't their discovery save many more, and bring prosperity, even through the sacrifices?

@@xxlCortez It's the second, because naturally it's easy to sacrifice someone you have no ties to. I don't feel anything about knowing so many people die horribly every day. I wasn't always like that. But now that's just how it is. There are reasons of course, but I doubt anyone could care, which is also something I relate to somewhat. You didn't answer my question though. It's as if people want to make each other think that they care about each other's well being and if whether they die or not, as if they heard the neighbor died they would stop their routine to mourn? Of course not, unless it's family or friends. Also, yeah it's a given that those experiments that involve torturing human subjects aren't being facilitated in the name of greater good and saving humanity or something like that. But my answer wouldn't change either way.

@@Tubejin Oh, she's nuts. No question about that. But yeah, she's also brilliant. Viktor praised her engineering when looking at her explosive devices.

Her and Ekko are also definitely up there. Unfortunately, in the series, they haven't done anything to the level of the other four yet (Founding cities, creating Hextech, creating shimmer). These are a bit higher level than explosives and hoverboards.

@@internetloy if you notice when she fires the Super Mega Death Rocket at the end, it has activated runes doing their little floating magic circle when she puts the hextech crystal in. This means she deciphered and applied Jay es and Viktor's notes in a matter of days.

also one of the runes were what turned the Blessed Isles, the home of the Sentinels, Thresh, Yorick, and Ryze, into the Shadow Isles. Viego put Isolde into the Well of Ages, and it seems the magic within draws the soul from their resting place when the dead body is in contact with the water. Isolde stabbed Viego through the chest with Sanctity (his sword) and it seems the life-draining magic of his blade combined with the life-giving powers of the waters were in conflict with one another. Turns out, the mortal-made magic from the sword wasn't strong enough to combat the power of the ancient, all-powerful rune magic, resulting in an explosion that destroyed the entire island and cursed everyone caught in it. He may not know of THAT specifically, but the power of the Runes are nothing short of cataclysmic when put into the wrong hands, and it's the reason they built the city in the first place. As a refuge from magic, and the Rune Wars were one of the most destructive displays of that. Being scarred from that event, it makes sense why he was so hostile towards even the slight consideration of arcane influence in the city that he helped build as his one bastion of safety against it.

Vander was bleeding out in a pile of shimmer on the other side of the building to Singed, Silco is in some middle of nowhere type building gagged up with 20 bullet holes so I doubt he can be saved. More than that I dont think i want him to be saved. If every character in zaun just gets Singed then imho death starts to feel less important.

one fears a deadly outtcome (tries less possabilities) and the other accepts death as a possible outcome and has a wider variety of possabilities
