Beautiful truck! I’d take one of those, V8 version of course, over a new F150, every day of the week.

Absolutely! I filmed this over 4 months ago and I forgot how nice this truck was. I’m sure its MSRP wasn’t much more than its sell price at this point (high 30’s I think it was) but after seeing the prices of all those expensive trucks in the collapsed videos I share this seems like a steal lol. 5.7 Tundra is the new Gold, if you can afford 13mpg lol. 😂

I had Toyota put in the TRD performance dual exhaust on my Tundra. I also have the TRD performance exhaust on my 23 Tacoma.

A neighbor / friend bought a 2011 Tundra Access cab 4WD with the 8’ bed and 90K miles for $4K. It had been in an accident, so he put another $4K into it. So he basically paid $8K for his Tundra. He now has 170K miles and it still runs like new. He told me that he’ll keep it until it’s completely worn out. It’s a bit rough body wise because it’s a work truck, but mechanically it’s in perfect condition. They have an older Lexus with the 4.7 V8 and they have a gazillion miles on it. In a few years they’ll give it to their son for his first car and I’m sure if he doesn’t wreck it, it’ll be passed down to their other 2 kids. He told me that they’ll buy a 24 or older 4Runner for his wife after they give their son the Lexus.

That sounds like an awesome plan they have. And what a steal on the wrecked Tundra! I’m sure next time gas prices jump up 40% you’ll be able to find these things at a really affordable price. I have no need for a full size but I do like the 5.7 Tundras. 😁

Just for the record I actually filmed this video back in February! And while I don’t remember what I said since that was 4 months ago, I do want credit for claiming this as the most reliable truck. Especially since many of the new 3.4 V6 TT Tundra engines have been recalled! That is all. 🤪

My 2018 runs like it's brand new. Correction for you though, it's Cavalry blue, not Calvary blue.

I’m glad to hear that! And that’s right, lol. Thanks for the correction!

Owned the first gen Tundra (4.7 V8). Trouble free for 140K.

That’s awesome! I test drove one of those about 10 years ago, I’m sure its still on the road doing well.

I Loved our 2010 Tundra 4WD Access cab with the 5.7L V8, but we couldn’t afford 8 mpg city and 15 mpg on the highway. I sure do LOVE my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab , long bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs. At 315 horsepower and 295 lb ft of torque at 2,300 RPM, while getting 21.9 mpg at 86 mph.

Oh I bet, those and the Titans with the 5.6 were stout when they first came out! It’s funny that Toyota and Nissan then literally never updated or truly modernized them again haha. I miss my 2017 3rd gen Tacoma, but I’m still happy to drive Subarus since I’ve never had a lemon experience.

One question, how’s the column shifter spring resustance? Does it still click in place and requires some force? Or flopping around
@AutomotiveAnonymous208
@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Месяц назад
I apologize when I actually filmed this video was over 4 months ago so I don’t recall, and I’ve only driven a few column shift vehicles like this since owning one over 10 years ago. So I don’t have a fresh reference of how it was mechanically tuned compared to other vehicles. Hopefully others will be able to answer this question for you! Thanks for watching. 🙂

Yeah, it’s literally insane how the big American auto makers still can’t figure out how to have both a reliable engine and transmission haha.

Yeah, for sure! This video was filmed over 4 months ago and probably just on the camera mic or a cheaper lapel mic. All my new stuff is a much more professional grade one. But I still have a number of these old videos left to post, lol. Thanks for watching!
