I just paid $200 for the same laptop with 1 TB - SSD, 16 GB RAM and in pristine condition. It reminds me of when I bought an old 2004, V8 Lexus LS 430. The engineering quality is truly AMAZING. Everything works smoothly and very fast. Keep up the good work BlazeTech........it's all about the supreme quality engineering. 😄
I have the 13" 8GB RAM model and ngl its a lil laggy, but it does basic shit really well. The speakers on this thing are amazing and it runs first party functions pretty smoothly.
My MacBook Pro 2014 rocks! Spend a total of $227.51 i7, 16GB ram, New 1TB drive Blazing speed. I can play Iris Pro 5200 games, which is a lot if games. Of course real high power games require a gaming rig. But for the majority of stuff.. It rocks.. FYI Not all SSD work on macs. This brand worked on my Mac. FX660 1TB M.2 SSD, PCIe Gen 4x4 Dynamic SLC Cache - Speeds up to 4800MB/s M.2 2280 NVMe Internal SSD.
Outstanding computer still works great. Many do not know that you can install 2 TB SSD without a problem, so up to 1 TB was true at the time as it was the largest size available. Nearly a decade later, there are 4 and 8 TB sizes, but the chipset does not match so the 20145 MBP cannot support those. You do need the OS on an external drive connected to the USB to install. Supports up to MacOS Big Sur, which in some ways is a drawback from Catalina. Seemed there were some GUI glitches and file system anomalies that I did not like seeing upgrading one of my other Macs. Catalina is the best MacOS for 2014 MBP IMO.
I recently scored a nearly perfect condition mac pro 2012 for 160 those things are a beast even in 2023 you can put ventura on it and they support radeon 6000 series cards which surpasses even the m1 and m2 chips I would make a video on upgrading it to the max I'm sure it would pull in the views
i had to film last min gig and edit the video in 1 day. I didnt have my new mac but someone had a 2012 MBP. I put the 6k video files through FCP and after they rendered, i was able to edit the 6k video project on the 2012 MBP with 8gb ram. BTW someone else i know had this 2014 MPB and apple bricked it wiht an update.
Windows for some light gaming? why not Linux? it would run better for games like Minecraft. And also Linux has plenty of open source games on their repos (mostly the Mint/Ubuntu and Fedora repos). Windows is just kinda nerfing it. But great video. I'm definitely interested in getting old Macs (got myself a 2013 Mac Pro and maxed it out myself) and repurposing them so they don't end up in the trash/recycling
@@RealBlazeTech Awesome. I recommend light versions of some mainstream distros, like Mint XFCE or Mint MATE. You could go the route of other distros that are much lighter but I haven't had much experience past Mint and Fedora myself. I look forward to it!
No, not exactly. Remote Management is typically stored on the Mac’s security chip on the motherboard. Typically, the remote management will prompt after a connection to the internet in setup. The way to bypass this is to setup without internet. And since the remote management prompts you randomly on the desktop, you can put in a few lines of code which prevents the system from reminding you. I’m saying that your computer is not enrolled if bypassed. Which means they cannot view anything you do; in settings, system sharing, remote management would be “checked” off.
If anyone is looking for a mint 2014 MBP Retina, the same spec as this one, I am selling mine, I have been using a surface device now for the past 6 months and it has completely replaced my MacBook Pro
