He talks SO FAST tho! I'm really amazed at how low key this makeup is. Always thought they were wearing lots more but I guess they've got a great canvas to work with.
I know what you mean. In the past though, it's a very full base with heavy contour and up to three pairs of lashes! The key makeup artist talked openly about it. I honestly think the light handed ones are just for the press - on the day of the show, there is no way the girls have only had a "fifteen minute" makeup!
+SaintOrCinema i don't know, i definitely think it's lighter now than it used to be - it certainly looks more radiant than traditional stage makeup and more about enhancing what's already there than creating a whole new look. Obviously people who aren't blessed with model complexions can adapt coverage etc though. What I would say for show makeup is i bet they do way more priming to help it stay in place under the lights, which in turn will up the coverage slightly. As a model with a makeup qualification I find it fascinating!
If u see for real, the models literally don’t eat for a week before the show and the makeup is all foundation and contour and they all get spray tans and have their butts contoured too, same w their boobs...so yeah a lot of work goes into making them look that perfect (don’t forget the hair extensions and fake lashes)
This is exactly why I don't listen to beauty gurus and I don't wear a ton of fucking makeup. If you have a few blemishes here and there, just cover it up. Everyone where's a ton of fucking makeup these days. This proves my point. You wanna look like a VS model? Make your skin clear by wearing less makeup (so the pores can breathe), wear tons of sun screen/moisturizer, drinks tons of water, eat healthy, wear hats (don't expose yourself to the sun), and exercise regularly. Getting back to my point, I never understood why girls with absolutely flawless faces where makeup? But I guess there was a period of time where I kept over doing it as well because I thought if I had one blemish that meant a full face of makeup.... but then I realized I looked disgustingly old and it was too much makeup.
+Diana M i agree with you to some extent, some girls have problem skin before that have ever worn any makeup. i Know that i had blemishes before i started to wear makeup. Some people feel like they need that kind of confidence boost and thats okay. Their are also other reasons why people wear makeup- its fun, i have always loved art and to me it is just another form of expression
+Alice Beard I'm talking about people that don't have blemishes. Why would you wear a ton of makeup if you don't need to? Foundation & concealer are only used to conceal the problem areas around your face. Your just clogging your pores otherwise, that makes no sense. You could potentially create a break out. But I get that makeup is a form of art & expression. I agree with you there.
+Lauren Have that is such a myth, my cousin's friend is one of the VS models and I've seen her and a lot more of her model friends eat like porks. It's called fast metabolism, one of my best friends eat a ton of junk food and doesn't do any exercise and never gets fat. And I'm skinnyish and I don't have a fast metabolism but I eat healthy and a ton of food (I'm vegan). And disclaimer: I'm not trying to be like "oh I know a lot of models or skinny people and they're perfect" no, because they're not and I'm not perfect neither, and I'm sure there are models that don't eat at all but you shouldn't generalize all models because not everybody is the same. And I truly wish you have a good day (I'm not saying this just to make less weird this) because everybody deserves goodness in their life. Peace out. ✌🏻️
Why are ppl making fun of her eyebrows thick eyebrows are IN and they should of been from the start small thin eyebrows were always ugly. Plus thick ones compliment the eyes
+Barbara Kimball i think it was someone filming more for reference than tutorial - Dick was talking through the look for the show with his team so they could go off and beautify everyone. It wasn't designed to really be a "hey look how we do Taylor's VS show makeup step by step" - if it was i think Dick would have been a lot more specific but you can tell he's talking to pros who already know what they're doing with regard techniques etc.
They're more than likely from Victoria's Secret. I've seen some of the stuff from this video in the stores, so I guess you just have to explore and see which ones are most likely the ones from the video.
Lovelyy! Very loose and fresh make up, simple and natural, I just love it. I like what he said about the skin, the more you leave it looking the more realistic will be. Great job.
+Shaley no! We usually have a very short amount of time before we're on the runway so we gotta work fast! however for photo shoots it's a different story
The cream eye products were from Shiseido. The main golden brown color was Sable and I believe the mix of black and brown liner was from Shiseido as well.
Red face paint from Kryolan on the cheeks (any red cream blush will do, Stila Poppy is great), Shiseido cream shadow in Sable, Caviar and Shoyu at the lash line, and VS Pout Lip Stain on the lips. I thought VS discontinued all of their makeup, so maybe it's left over...
I’m so confused...they wear that makeup for hrs. Hrs at a time they’re laughing talking, their faces are moving, cameras are flashing at them...why don’t they use setting powder and spray?? How does such minimal and dewy makeup stay in place? It makes no sense. Anybody with a face will crease after all the smiling and talking.
