@@connorbonstein4048 No, the sound is not trademarked. The method of producing the sound is trademarked. It's like a flute manufacturer trying to trademark f sharp. They can trademark their flute, but not the sound the flute makes.
As a non-American viewer, let me just show my appreciation for the subtle implementations of metric units in your videos. Its a small feature and many viewers might not care too much about it, but so many content creators neglect it and it's a relief to see someone who cares about their collective audience. Thanks!
I actually like that the key hole is still there! I think is such a nice little nod to yesteryear since most cars are so aero-focused that design is very much appearing more and more like fighter jets for the streets not unlike F1 cars.
''cars are so aero-focused that design is very much appearing more and more like fighter jets for the streets not unlike F1 cars'' - Erm well yes, that's the whole point of civilisation - to elevate and progress? Did you really want a return to the 80's medieval straight-line grotesque edges and pop-up headlights on frames seemingly like they were made from damp cardboard?
I love how Ferrari keeps the door handle and key slot, there's something humble and cool about just a normal-ass door, *watching someone try to find the digital g-spot on on a car door really takes the cool factor out of your car.* I don't want to freaking scan my iris every time I'm coming home from getting toilet paper, but I know that's where we're heading.
6:25 Doug, I'm not sure how much truth this holds, but regarding the "ugly" key hole on the outside of the door: Enzo Ferrari once said (allegedly): "I don't care if the door gaps are straight. When the driver steps on the gas, I want him to shit his pants."
Although I agree with you on the keyhole thing, that kinda shit won't pass these days and this quote is pretty dumb for today. Besides, Old Man Ferrari was infamous of saying a lot of dumb things. Like how aerodynamics is for someone who doesn't know how to create a good engine, paraphrasing here.
But Ferraris have never been the fastest in a straight line. I doubt the authenticity of that quote. People have always been able to build a V8 hotrod in their garage that will blow the doors off any Ferrari in a drag race. Ferrari has always been about refinement and total balance of handling and power. If you just want to mash on the gas and shit your pants, build a hotrod.
Doug SHOULD review the Coronavirus. *"THISSSS is the Coronavirus and the doctors have named it Covid-19.I've borrowed this example from an hospital near CNC motors"*
@@OverlandOrange you liked it? :) it actually came right from my heart since i'm leaving a bad time (here in italy) and i want to put a smile in everyone's face
He probably changed it because his videos are becoming longer and longer. I personally don’t mind but it makes sense that less people click on a 40 minute video
The door handle is actually designed so that air can flow with the lines of the body especially the air intake on the side. Its quite clever to be honest.
Never make the mistake of buying one if u cant buy ferraris easily.... Cause if u can buy these cars easily, then only you can maintain it and use it for a long time...
Way more than that I think. Considering that it does 0 to 60 in 3 sec and that he was already rolling before starting the acceleration. Closer to 160 or 170 would be my guess... Edit : Oh, you meant in mph, right?
@@NBD96 as a wise man, that apparently doesn't know how an apostrophe works, once famously stated: "@Nabhajit Das BMW M550d had 3 turbo's" That's why I thought this Ferrari was interesting... Until I heard Doug pronounce, what I misread all the time before.
Hey Doug! Love your channel. Just one thing, PS doesn't mean "Power Start" it's Partenza Sportiva. Not to be a douche just saying. Keep it up love the vids.
@@Greendyes_E there's no Aston Martin with doors that opens upways. There's an small angle to avoid damaging the door on sidewalks, but not something like a door that goes up and even Lamborghini doesn't make it on every car, just their flagship cars and more: the F8 is a entry level sports car, not an Hypercar.
This is now my second favourite, if not my favourite Ferrari, they need to keep producing cars like this😍 the tail lights are just like the 812’s tail light😍 the most beautiful ones
Boring? I think it's weird looking... kinda looks like a kit car to me. The side profile has very weird proportions and the wheels are too small... too much gap.
Ferrari going public was the worst mistake ever. Greedy buggers. I mean the T-shirts, theme parks and nasty perfumes are okay, merchandise sales is easy money, but comprising on the very ideal that make Ferraris timeless is no good. The Ferrari Roma, with a silhouette and window profile of a Vantage is another example of Ferrari’s in-house design team being totally uninspiring.
It's a preproduction or press car I'm sure. These cars are put together by hand and not every one of them is gonna have the look as if a machine made it. I also doubt anyone footing 300k for a car is gonna be turned off because of some bit of quality leather around the gauge cluster is a little wrinkled. Like, honestly who gives a shit? Your average buyer is not like that. At least it's quality leather and none of that low grade or vinyl crap they'll portray as "genuine leather" in lower cars. I don't even like the F8Tributo that much and think it's lazy to do 3rd version of what's basically a 458, but come on you're being nitpicky.
Most of the interior looks so cheap. Look at the climate vents, they look so tacky, Ferrari could have spent a few cents more and opted for textured plastic
If the F8 didn’t have those huge side intake holes it would be the best looking V8 F car ever. F8 with 458 rear hips. Since the chassis is the same I wonder if such a conversion is possible for a master body shop. Air intake moved to a single above the roof and the rear side quarter windows if more flow is required. RUF does the best job hands down on design of rear air intakes for their turbo cars. So elegant and highly functional bc of their placement on the area with the highest air flow velocity leading to lowest pressure and a subsequent “vaccum” effect ramming air into the intake that is shaped like a Venturi to further accelerate the flow and increasing the overall effect. This all aside from the visual appeal which is masterful and artistic at the highest levels.
I am actually not a fan of the 488, I found the 458 far prettier of a car. I always found the grille/hood design and rear to look terrible on the 488. Doug says it doesn't look very different, but I think the F8 looks significantly better, and I don't really see much of the 488 in there, frankly I see more 458 in the front. Big fan of the F8!
Robert ohebshalom he has a bunch of videos recorded to release later. I think he said recently he has enough videos to release till around May or so. Just go on his Instagram, he posts about some of the cars he’s reviewed but hasn’t released the videos of yet
17:11 Pretty underwhelming compared to other exotics. Am I alone in thinking this? I know this is not a normally aspirated engine but it sounds a bit "ho hum"
Challenger Red eye has 797hp for about +$200k less. 0-60 is only .5 slower , 0-100 is just about the same, and top speed is only 8mph slower. I’m good with my mopar.
@@vladvulcan Sure. But the Pista is more of a track-focused machine. That's why it's stripped out, much like the 458 Speciale. So, Ferrari knew it had to release a version of it (one that isn't stripped out) to compete directly with the 720s.
458 is a perfect car! I’ve driven the 488 on both a track and the street. It’s insanely fast to the point of being absurdly impractical as a daily driver. Ferrari makes great pieces of automotive art work but Porsche makes reliable daily driver sports cars/ super cars. At least with Porsche you get the option to buy an S or GTS 911 as opposed to the Turbo or RS machines. With Ferrari there is only one model for a new mid engine Ferrari and if you don’t like there is no alternative. A Ferrari Dino is slower than a modern entry level 3 series BMW. We have jumped the shark with regard to HP in street legal cars. You are paying for power that will never be used. The fact is that more buyers will drive this car around town hoping to be seen than will ever push the car to 150 mph.
How the videos usually go: One: Thizzzzis Two: “quirks and features” Three: comedy tour Four: serious driving Five: score Six: “and you can see more of my thoughts on autorader”
3:30 Well, the 458 was pretty much Perfection as it was so it's going to be pretty damn difficult to improve on that Iconic and timelessly Modern design.
You could buy three Corvettes with enough money left over for track days so you could race your friends. The Vette does it with 200 less hp and is naturally aspirated. (with more trunk space too, lol)
@@danielprivate7442 so a car that doesn't have the best 0-100km/h times is now one about compensating for physical inadequacies or branding image? Man you really need to educate yourself about cars more.
9:00 the whole point of having a keyless entry system is that the key stays in your pocket why would anybody ever would want to place it in a stupid keyholder???
I think Ferrari should go back to Pinifarina for its exterior designs. I mean, the in-house styling center is great but you can beat that artistic feeling...
gothops154 I’m glad I wasn’t the only one to notice that haha it’s a new Ferrari but it’s not shining , looks like the owner takes it to drive thru car washes maybe a little too often
well Ferrari has a color called Tour de France (TdF blue), has a car named Tour de France (F12 TdF)... that's a Tour de France shirt. nothing to see here
@Don Johnson Ha! I know he's rich, at least relatively speaking. But I hope he's not phoning it in. He probably thinks people don't want to hear it. But I do.
firemanJeff911 we may be in the minority of viewers who want the who explanation portion. I’m sure he made the right decision for the bulk of viewers. Maybe release an extended version?
