I just bought a 2020 Electra Glide, but I keep looking at this one. When the 'Glide is paid off, I'm getting one for quick jaunts and hell razin'. The perfect combo: One for touring; one for bar hoppin'.
Ended up doing forward controls (6’1”) , sissy, screaming eagle exhaust, some more chrome bits. Love it. Only change might be to the radius style exhaust and a s/s AC. Thoughts?
i just bought a softail standard last month. already put on some vance and hines slip ons and the harley mustache engine guard. great bike man looks good.
Hey Ken, if your looking for any upgrades like handle bars, sissy bar, tank lift, I got all mine from Dean Speed Customs, real great guys over there and the owner Mykah, awesome dude. High quality without the high quality price.
You can just plug a USB thingy into the outlet for the Battery Tender. That way, if your phone is low while out and about, you can just plug it in and draw a charge off your battery while at a rest stop, etc. I always carry one of 'em in my swingarm bag. Also, why keep the blinkers? Better keep cagers guessing instead of them taking actions that can endanger you. Never use blinkers on a motorcycle. From southern California ~ Ride Forever! 🦅
Just got my 21' Standard delivered Thursday, traded in my 20' Iron 883! Wow it takes off. It's going to take some time getting used to the power. Also I'm having a hard time with shifting, I keep knocking it in neutral, it feels like I'm just learning to ride, even though I had my Iron 10 months and put over 7200 miles on it, lol. Putting a different seat, and pipes and maybe a fairing and change out to led front and back signals, but other than that it's good to go!!
I had a 06 883 with forward foot controls, I immediately put them on my 2020 Standard, my lord what a better riding experience. I have the VH big shots on mine, sounds awesome, of course had the 1st stage done too
@@draydenwarrior889 Yuppers ! It takes so long for us European to get H-D's here overseas. Case-in-point : I ordered mine in July 2020, I'll receive it next March 2021. If you're Stateside, you'll undoubtedly get your's sooner. I just wouldn't wait for the day of your 18th birthday to order it ;-) (PS : get it with ABS. Could be a life-saver)
I like this bike. Have been thinking about getting a smaller bike to compliment my Road King for the days I don't want to deal with the bigger bike. I'd tell that dealer to take their branding off and put the stock logo back on if that happened. I argued with a car dealer about putting on their chrome logo which is actually drilled into the trunk lid of the cars they sell. I told them if they did it I would not finalize the sale. Remided them that once I bought it, it was my car not theirs.
Thank you for that in-depth review! Love the slow panning where we get to see every nook and cranny. My FXST is on order (as of early July '20) with a delivery date around March 2021. Yup, the joys of living in France. Ordered mine with forward controls and a cruise control (safer way to keep them points on my license) FYI, all European models come standard with ABS. Question : the battery tender plug 07:37 comes with the bike, or did you add that ? 08:00 and I've been looking high and low about the USB port on the FXST : you've solved the mystery. I'm going to have to tell my local H-D dealer he's wrong. *sigh* Subscribed, and I'll be following your mods closely :-)
Great Bike, I bought mine on May 11, it’s such a fast fun and great handling bike, I also would like to install a usb charger but the dealer in my town says he can’t find one anywhere in the computer, even while searching the Street Bob usb which comes standard? Great vid, Thanks
If you take and remove your jiffy stand take a middle file file the bottom down file it where it’s more have a more of a curve shape to the bottom it will lock into place a lot easier I had the same issue so scared the bike would fall over and it did once I got very mad and then I found out what to do and I have cured the issue or you can just buy a book and put it underneath the stand because it is a good jiffy stand
I’m pretty sure I bought that one from eBay around a week ago, minutes after you told me where to check, I made him an offer of $25 and free shipping, it came off of a 2018 Street Bob and definitely looks plug and play once you get that plastic box opened up, it takes 4 3mm Hex screws to open up, I only managed to get 2 off right in back of the horn, the other 2 are a real pita to remove without maybe taking the tank off which I wasn’t willing to do at this time, I also found a site that sales the parts that has the part numbers to maybe have your local HD dealer get em for you, only issue is they want $64 bucks for the plug and around $6 bucks for the cap so I think I scored at $25 for both. I’ll see if I can send the link, if not the part numbers.
Look I'm not really one for tech on a bike hence why I'm watching this vid about the standard. BUT including the window but not putting the actual USB on is absolutely stupidity. Low cost or blank canvas all you want, but really!? In a pinch, in the middle of nowhere with a dead phone, I think the covert USB could be a lifesaver. Not to actually include it is a L for Harley
