Purdy lost 3 games. 3 games. I'm not sure I've seen an overreaction like this in a while. This video was released less than a day before he came back and threw for 70+% and 3TDs. Pickett is also under the most garbage offensive play calling in the NFL. What are we doing here?

Purdy is really good. Everyone has bad games. He's young and is only going to get better. He's by far the best QB in the 2022 class.

I think Pickett, Howell and Purdy are solid picks for the situation. If the Steelers didn’t get him, I’m sure someone would’ve been fired. Purdy at last overall even winning games is a W, and Howell is getting sacked like crazy.

I think there's something to be said about bad teams lying to themselves that a rookie qb is going to miraculously turn a bad franchise around. So many bad teams draft a qb early and never fix their line or receiving core and expect some 21/22 year old to just wave his fingers and cast an op buff spell. Too many of these teams are built to end qb careers not start them.

Does it even matter if Pickett is bad when the Steelers are somehow 6-3 despite having all the stats say they should be 2-7? They are proof football is weird. Howell has been impressive in one huge way: he's getting pummeled with sacks and hits in every single game yet doesn't seem to be getting rattled. If he can mentally get through this year without David Carr type of PTSD, his future should be solid.

Imagine how bad most draft classes would be if the sunk cost fallacy didn't exist. I mean look at the scant opportunities most of these QBs have gotten, one, two or three games, some got none. So if you can tell a QB is not it after this small sample size, what else would it be called when a team is in their 3rd season with a QB at 7W-26L and still are trying to evaluate them? Im surprised Corral never got picked up after his Pats stint. We never really seen him get a chance. But he showed some promise in the preseason.

Purdy has now led his team to a superbowl and he is 22-4 in games where he played at least 3 quarters. Purdy should have been taken #1 in the 2022 draft. Purdy is a franchise QB. I expect him to win the SB in this his second year.

This is not true at all. Pickett isn't that great right now but we all know Matt Canada is a problem. I also think Ridder is better than he has looked..Arthur Smith is holding back that offense. Purdy and Howell are genuinely good QBs IMO...and in good situations to succeed. Forget about the team Purdy's playing with and the W/L record..dude has very good mobility, pocket awareness and can definitely play as a starter at an NFL level. Howell has a great arm and also has wheels on him and Eric Bienemy is a good OC for him to develop under..he just has to learn to avoid sacks. Overall, I think Pickett, Purdy and Howell can be long term starters. I think Ridder can stick around as a backup QB for a long time because they can all move around a bit and can clearly play at this level. Compare this to the 2021 class that has produced one starting QB..Trevor. Everyone else is literally not a starting level...Lance and Wilson may be out of the league within 3 years. Mac Jones is a backup level QB, I think. Fields is still TBD. I think he gets a chance at starting for another team next season. Any draft producing 3 starting level QBs is not THAT bad.

As a Steelers fan it's sad to see Pickett be such a limited passer. Sometimes he bails on clean pockets, misses wide open receivers, and doesn't really see the field well and go through progressions. It always feels like we take 1 step forward and 2 steps back with his development. But I think as of right now Howell has a real chance of being the best QB from this class.

2022 was a strange year for QBs, in that there wasn't a bonafide stud and it was considered a weak class. Really strange is that teams didn't overdraft the position for once. I mean, no one overspent for Willis, despite his exciting tape. Given that, I think the NFL was mostly right about it being a weak class. Pickett has been solid, if having to suffer in Matt Canada's offense. Sam Howell is still the biggest mystery as to why he dropped, but has proven that he's an NFL QB. Purdy went to probably the perfect team for him. Ridder's accuracy issues has been a major negative for him. Willis was the project everyone thought he was. Corral lost his rookie season to injury and a coaching change sunk his career. I wonder if we will see Zappe again with Mac Jones imploding. Skylar Thompson is sitting behind Tua, which is a good place to be. Three starters isn't bad, tho the fact that 2 of those players are day 3 picks is odd.

I never understood how Howell slipped so far in the draft. I saw him play a lot in UNC including a couple live games, and as a Bills fan…I couldn’t help but think of him as a smaller Josh Allen: howlitzer of an arm that is sneaky out of the pocket and escaping blitzes. Loves to get hit and very physical for a QB. Fairly smart with the football…but also like Josh is a gunslinger that can get you turnovers. I think Howell has the advantage of being a lot less emotional than Allen and more cerebral, but also not nearly as athletic. Was so mad the Redskins of all teams drafted him…

Howell has the worst OLine, worst Defense, and bottom 5 HC in the NFL. He also has an OC who refuses to adjust his playcalling until the 4th Qtr. And yet he’s massively outperforming all these guys. Purdy is a fun story, but if you swapped him and Howell, we wouldn’t know who Purdy is, and Howell would be getting the distinction he deserves.

Interesting timing for when this was posted. Pickett has flashes of being able to be solid, but he's inconsistent. For now, he's... good enough. On the other hand, Purdy had another career day, and the 49ers needed that turnaround. It feels like he's going through the "sophomore slump" but even so, I think he will be just fine.

This class is easily better than 2021. 2021 has tlaw who's average, mac/fields who aren't good enough to be viable starters, and a bunch of backups. 2022 has Purdy who's easily top 10 right now, Howell who looks promising as a good starter in the future, Pickett who's not a good starter but could become slightly below average, and the rest are backup caliber.

And, despite being just 25th in attempts, he's tied for the lead in 40+ and is second in both 20+ and 30+ passing. He's tearing up the NFL and has just 15 regular season starts under his belt!!!!

"Baby Bosa" Brock has got gots legs he avoided what should have been a sac with his feet. What he does better than previous Niners QBs is make great decisions. That loss against the Browns was because of Moody missing that FG. Even the one bad decision he made yesterday went for a TD. I mean folks say it's the system and to some degree it's true but there were a ton of guys the Niners had that couldn't run it this well, including Jimmy G. Brock has been a god send.

To be fair… Class was only bad bc Rattler had to transfer after the bs benching of him when he had them 7-0 before they benched him(they went 3-2 or 4-2 w Caleb btw) and restart at South Carolina where he’s done REALLY good, and bc DJ Uiagalelei was a flop. Pickett wasn’t meant to be a 1st Rounder and Corrall should’ve gotten a better shot. Tough the way it went for him but he will be just fine.

The media didn’t want another draft class like 2013 so they essentially vaulted Pickett into the first round when he never shoulda gone then…. They tried to do the same thing with Levis this past draft

Howell is good he just has a millisecond to throw. Picket wasn’t worthy of a first rounder when he was drafted and that’s still true. Willis is a project and has always been and should have just been a 6th rounder who could sit for a few years and maybe become something. The rest of the guys are decent backups who were drafted to be backups.
