Did he say “10 Piston Caliber” Damn we’ve come a long way. That’s wild. This thing is beautiful but I still want that 2017 Audi S8 - 4.0 L V8 - 605 hp 8-speed automatic…. Hands down, the best A8 In my opinion.
*I agree. Cheaper in price and just, what, a tenth of a second slower (supposedly). The "Lambo" status is nice and all, but I'd rather have the RSQ8. It also kinda looks tougher to me.*
Yeah and the interior of the Urus isn’t really differentiated from the Q8. The parts are the same, the digital gauge cluster is the same, but it is nice.
@@TonyKimtheamusementparkfanSeats are different and have way more color and texture options on Lamborghini. Plus exotic paddles and when you pull a paddle, it goes into gear like an Aventador and Huracan. Plus Lamborghini gives you exotic heritage pieces out of their cars into this for shifter and start button. Plus more aggressive drive modes. Lamborghini has different software in virtual cockpit display. Audi is more relaxed environment. Less colors to choose from.
Yikes! 13MPG City. Pass everything on the road except gas stations. A 22 gal tank is not big enough! But, I guess if you can afford this car, you don't give a damn about MPG. If I had this car, I would get about 5MPG.
100%. I have an SQ8 and instead of tuning the Q8 for more HP they put the big motor in the S so it's really a bargain and makes the extra cost of of the RS hard to justify.
@@ryanb8736I’m struggling making a choice between the RSQ8, and the SQ8. Are the tunes on the SQ8 reliable? Any thoughts on the best tune out there? I’d be looking for essentially a “stage 1 tune” just to bring it to around 600hp. Also, they obviously void the 4yr/50k mile warranty. Does they send faults? And can they be reversed without the dealer noticing? Sorry for all the questions. I have a 2024 RSQ8 ordered at one dealer (for MSRP), that didn’t change a damn thing, no facelift, looks just like 2023, and I have and SQ8 Ordered at another dealer for 3% off. Delivery date on both may 2024
Tune it stage 1 and it'll be over 680hp & 700ft+lb torque on 91octane OR 700+hp& torque on 93 octane then you can forget the Lambo (you'll find THE SAME Audi/VW marked parts from all over the different parts hidden under it's body panels). I wouldn't bother w/ceramic brakes because their too costly to replace.
Great vehicle (IMO the best looking one compared to Urus/Cayenne) but why does Audi 1) limit interior color choice on most its vehicles and 2) keep those plasticky paddles (even R8 had those)! Both so easy to correct but apparently no one at Audi is paying attention
They do it to differentiate it from Porsche and Lamborghini. It’s a huge bargain compared. You can buy an aftermarket wheel with big paddles and have seats reupholstered in any color you want. Then it’s a rare one off. At a bargain.
I saw one of these in my neighborhood here in El Paso, Tx. What stood out was that amazing color. It reminded me of the type of orange used in the Lowrider community. It really popped. Gr8 vid as usual. 🚗🇺🇸
From studying this and not have driven the Q8 SQ8 or RSQ8. But, I do own a SQ5. I could probably find an end of year model Q8 for close to the cost of the SQ8, but to me there would point unless I jumped up to the SQ5 and I think for the kind of driving I do, that would be a better ride to the RSQ8. So that could be my next one.
12:23 Vegas nightclub???? I’ve been to some that the lighting ambiance isn’t overpowering and the RSQ8 ambient lighting is not distracting while on road trips
I wanted to love this vehicle. Two reasons I went with an X5 was a strong dislike of the Audi’s dash and for me the seats were not as comfortable as the BMW’s comfort seats. I did love the 2nd row legroom, the cargo area and how the car drove and handled. It reminded me of an updated version of my old A6 Allroad from the early 2000’s.
Unfortunately the M60i didn’t exist at that time and BMW wouldn’t let me order the X5 with the X3M Comp’s motor. Covid severely restricted what was available at that time. BMW has had way too many years with problems with their V8’s, which lead to several class action lawsuits. Looks like they’ve figured it out with this new V8. Launch control mode is a blast.
*10:54** Sofyan, did you say "you can go to a phone display"? Did you misspeak or did I hear correctly and you meant that Apple Carplay or Android Auto can appear where the gauge cluster is?*
Anyone who does not use 91 octane or better in this V8 is a penny wise and a pound foolish. The extra 80 cents a gallon is worth the extra cost after spending $141k for this vehicle.
@@jeremysomeone I buy and sell high end exotics and special cars. Been in industry for 36 years. Please don’t tell me Jaguar is reliable. You are speaking to the wrong person. I have tons of experience and tons of knowledge.
@@ryanb8736 You just proved the point. You don’t have long term experience with a particular vehicle. In 33 years of car ownership I’ve owned both. The Jags have been more reliable over 3-12 year ownership. The fit/finish is also superior. Nice try Jan.
The exterior looks great, but I'd chose a less flashy color. It could also use more aggressive wheels as these are just mediocre, but the black package is very welcome choice. The interior may be of high-quality but its just bland. Audi really needs to offer more colors and color combination. In hate a dark depressing interior, and all that reflective finger print magnet piano black. Cup holders need a cover. Otherwise, they become dust and lint collectors that looks bad. I'm also not a fan of the integrated head rests. This may be a sporty vehicle, but its not a race car. One size does not fit all. The back seat is cavernous, but I wish more manufactures would offer clips on the back of the front seats to mount an iPad. Additionally, I've always seen cars where the rear window doesn't go all the way down as just a poor design. The center mounted HVAC control panel should be angled up @12:40 On the bright side, the graphics look great (too bad you can't color match) and it retains a panoramic sun roof that still opens, unlike its EV variants. @17:20 the cooler weather shouldn't have much any effect on the tires, but it will aid in the power of the turbos.
Genuinely question that I hope gets answered What’s the point of a RSQ8? It only makes 91 more hp from the SQ8. You get the same gloss black trim inside and out as well. Wouldn’t you just buy a SQ8, and for the power junkies, get it tuned to make more power than the 90 extra of the RSQ8?
For those who want factory warranty with more power, RS badges, and ceramic brakes. Plus you lose RS modes. SQ8 is the absolute bargain though. Tuning it removes warranty though. Unfortunately.
@@ryanb8736 so my only incentive to get a RSQ8 is factory warranty, fancy brakes and 90 more horsepower? Damn. Bit disappointed to hear. I would rather stick to the SQ8 tbh.
I like some black accents on a vehicle. Some is the key. The black grill is alright. But to black out the AUDI rings and the RS badges is going a little to far. I like contrast differentiation and the manufacturers go for that look to.. Hence the orange paint and black accents. Black emblems/badges on black paint or black accents is blah. The manufacturers build vehicles and intend to make a statement. But hide the model and manufacturer of it. LAME.
@@ryanb8736 Cadillacs? Did you even drive any new Cadillac EVs? Ultium is a completely different platform from all previous Cadillacs, but you are making a statement without having any clue
for a car that's $140k the interior is absolutely fu**ing trash lol . the newer hyundai's look better than this garbage interior. it just sucks because im a big fan of the audi exterior
How many times are you going to mention you'd buy the RS6 Avant over this? This 💩 all over the RS6 and MUCH better looking by far. And on the used market, you'll fair better on this than the RS6
The difference for me between AVANT RS6 and RS SQ8 is the elevation of the driver seating position. I prefer the RS Q8 because it is easier to come in and come out.
I just found your channel and you give a great presentation, BUT in your test drive just show the road, not you. Believe it or not, we do not have to see you to hear you😉
Some reviewers present a split screen. But you're right, its all about the car. The guy that popularized the video car review (John Davis), does this best. You see him once, and no more.
The RSQ8 is still a beautiful vehicle and a great package. That second row legroom is incredible . It’s too bad the Atlas Cross Sport did not get some of this goodness given they share this platform.
@@RKO859 wasn’t making any comments about “my league.” Simply stating my opinion regarding the choices I prefer to make regarding what I like to drive. Didn’t mean to upset you🙄😆
@@ThrowAway-md9zxFor 70k, you can get a loaded Kia or Acura. These are for people who want highest build quality with top performance. You just don’t understand why it costs so much. Nothing compares to this other than Urus for 100k more. The real bargain is SQ8/7 for 100k. Same engine just detuned. Still fast and fun with amazing V8 sounds with 500hp. A real bargain.
@@ThrowAway-md9zxAcura MDX Type S is actually the most overpriced SUV and most traded in. It’s also the most hated and regretted purchase. Audi is the most enjoyed with tons of smiles.
You sounded bored af right up until the 0-60 tests, and only slightly less bored after that. Either Audi has leaned too far into the stealth wealth theme, or you need a nice vacation to recharge your batteries.
