Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week! We're kicking off the weekend showing you guys our full take on the redesigned M2 and boy was this car a nice surprise from behind the wheel. Unless you need AWD and just want a bigger car, this is def the bargain of the BMW M Car lineup and it feels every bit as quick and fun as the last manual M3 sedan we drove briefly last year!

Just ordered mine in Zandvoort Blue and I can’t wait to get it. It’ll be my first actual M car ever.

That’s the best 0 to 60 I’ve seen on the net and can’t imagine how that feels from a roll on the highway . Looking forward to experiencing that end of year fingers crossed.

My neighbor got one of these in that baby blue color. The front end styling is pretty bad, it looks like the designers just stopped and never finished it. I would not get this in anything other than sapphire black since this will mute the front end details a bit. Other than that, it has great proportions and a nice stance. But the styling is pretty bad...

Maybe the M3/M4 are more powerful but I don't care, I would choose the M2 with a manual over those two. I would prefer the regular seats. As Sofyan says the bucket seats are good for track use, not for daily use. I like the engine sound. This car has enough power to me. Nice car indeed

can confirm this car does look really good/aggressive in person. also, you can get a sunroof, at least in the US. and bmw is lying about the real hp numbers. its the same hp/tq as the base m3/m4

You get a SUNROOF or the Carbon Roof in the US. No Steel Roof option, that’s Canada and other markets.

As always, a first class review! As another viewer has mentioned though, for the US market (at least), you CAN option a glass moonroof...which I would certainly do. I just wish they offered this in a cabriolet model.

I'm going to assume the "thunk" test is subjective,....because to me, it didn't _sound_ very solid. But I'm sure it is more in person.

This car, in manual, is a bargain. Its optional seats make the new Mustang Gt's optional Recaro's home furniture. If someone can find a base model of this investment, bargain, or as a daily, then are lucky and blessed. This car is insane, stock, vs any of its competitors. I believe this car will hold its value well with minimal depreciation. Props to all the viewers who were able to lock down one of these machines. Lucky you!

This is an amazing automobile. I am considering buying one. I’m not sure I want to pay the dealer mark up prices.

I have a G80 M3X and I gotta say if I was in the market I’d definitely get this over it. As much as I love my M3 that M2 is a damn bargain basically the same car base manual for base manual for a whole lot cheaper.

Don't know if this is a difference between the American market and the European one but in Europe you can actually get a powered sunroof on this car for about $1100. Good review. I had the pleasure of driving the previous generation M2 competition and that thing was a blast, a true pocket rocket. I only had it for half a day and I drove a little less than 400miles in that timeframe. Too bad that these kinds of cars will all be electric soon and that beautiful BMW inline 6 will disappear

Is the manual transmission much worse than what's in the Cayman or Camaro ?

My local dealer has a $10k mark up and thats’s for the best customers.($20k for others). Lack of supply and strong demand drives up pricing. A $65-$70k price is not possible.

I don't hate the exterior -- in fact, I like it for this car -- an M2! I don't hate that it does offer a sunroof -- it's a driver's car -- a true driver's car! I agree that I'd probably not get those seats or the carbon-fiber package (for the price reduction) -- it's trying to be affordable to driver's -- and I appreciate that BMW has made this car for the US!

Pretty car. Long term bmw reliability/durability is my concern especially after owning bmws. This is probably best owned as a lease and dump it after the term is over.

This 2023 M2 is an awesome car I think the m2 scaled-down built BMW 4 but this m2 is better than the previous m2 and the m4 looks beautiful however bmw should provide normal seats instead of bucket seats normal seats good for long journeys Furthermore 3.0l twin-turbo direct injection inline 6 453 hp and 406 pound-feet of torque, boost pressure 17.4 psi mpg 17 in the city 24 in the highway 0-60 3.88 seconds, top 177 mph, weight 3800 lbs I liked the steering wheels look amazing infotainment system but BMW should have provided big seats in the back that will be little disappointed but overall this car great thanks

This compared to the manual CT4 V Blacking? It has a manual and rear drive only.

Heard the gearing in the automatic pairs better with the tuning of this car than the manual.

Nice video, unfortunately, I've been searching for a manual M2/M3 to test drive for months now. Eight official dealerships and one BMW group-owned dealership in my area don't have their own cars or pool cars with a manual gearbox (no M2, no M3). Even after sending three emails to BMW, I haven't had any success. The experience here is even worse, with auto-generated replies that tell me I should go to a local dealership and that they do not print any info material anymore (which i haven’t even asked for). Currently, the car buying experience in Germany is not something I can recommend to someone else. At the moment, I have the impression that BMW doesn't want to sell cars with a manual gearbox (despite promoting it on RU-vid and even through their engineers). Maybe I'm just not the right type of customer, and BMW expects customers to spend 80,000€ or more without being able to test the specific model. I don't know, but right now, I'm more than disappointed.

The front end and side views look fantastic, but the rear view is straight from a “Transformers” movie.

Prior generation F87 looks so good compared to this.

I hope the price is no where near the CTV blackwing. It’s looks so bad. I couldn’t walk up this everyday and look at it knowing the CT4 V blackwing is better in every single way.

Is it just me or it overall looks cheap AF? Not trying to hate on it but, for that price tag, I'd REALLY expect better quality on materials... I thought Audi was the only one going this way with their RS3 (experienced that one in person), but man, it's sad to see they're not the only ones... Can't help feeling we're getting less for our money with these new gen cars...

20mpg combined is not bad but that fuel tank will give you 240 miles of range, no thanks.

People say, Oh yes, I didn't like it but it grew on me. A great, timeless design shouldn't grow on you. It should captivate you the moment you set eyes on it. Like the previous F87 or the E39 M5 or the E46 M3. Those still stand the test of time. But this is an abomination. Almost all current BMWs are utterly horrid to look at. Shame, that a company that once made simple, elegant and graceful cars have to resort to this sacrielige now.

I'm not sorry. Those blocky growths on the front (and especially) the rear bumpers... no, I can't. Looks like a truck. Tip to designers: Always, ALWAYS, set your design next to an old XKE, Ferrari or Corvette-to name a few. No, it doesn't have to look like that, but it will remind you that it's ok to design cars that are beautiful.
