I bought a Cadillac XT5 last May (my first GM vehicle in a long time) one of the reasons because I am seeing the mass amount of investment GM is putting into EVs and feel like the Equinox EV with its competitive price will be the EV for the masses. So I wanted to get an idea of how the ownership experience with a GM product is like before gambling with an unfamiliar brand on a new technology. Because I feel my foray into the EV world will be with a GM electric vehicle be it a Lyriq, Equinox EV, or Blazer EV. Its also important to note the best selling EV in China is a GM product (Wuling Honguang Mini) so its not like they are new to the game of making mass market EVs.
It is clear that you are a paid russian troll😂😉 But this time you have overplayed your character😂 A Cadillac is not even in the same class than the German cars. Don t make fool out of yourself😅😅😅
Absolutely Stunning! Hands down one of the most quiet POV Drives you've ever recorded, your voice was clear inside a quiet vehicle. The Lyriq is a sedan/wagon mashup (a semi-estate) displaying the features of both. So Miles, is Cadillac a contender in the e-luxury battle with Lucid?
Stunning! I am floored, This is a real Cadillac. It even has its own stalks etc. Very good job GM very good. Oh and I love that paddle on the back of the wheel. You really need a way to control braking.
I think that's a really dumb feature. It's training wheels for an ev. It's simply not necessary. as long as the accelerator has enough range and feel one pedal driving is easy. Other than that, its a really cool car.
What a car!!! Cadillac is on track. Proud to be an American company. Unfortunately electric cars have a way to go before consumers in general commit to this technology. Maybe another 6 to 7 years.
Great video and review. The quality of your POV video and sound recording gave a very immersive experience. Truly one of the best auto reviews I've seen. I definitely have a much better feel for the Lyriq and I can not wait to take delivery of my 2023 RWD - CRYSTAL WHITE EV.
The Debut Edition is only available in black or silver, but everything after that for 2023 model year is also available in opulent blue and crystal white.
I’m a diesel mechanic who hates EVs, but in all honesty I’d buy this car in a heartbeat. I love Cadillac and truly believe they’ve made something special
@@CHMichael It makes sense though that a brand new electric model would have a more modern interior than existing ICE platforms. However, I agree in that not everything should be put into a screen.
Glad it's got the screwy rear profile, otherwise it's not that distinguishable from other SUVs. The front is still Cadillac though. I looked at 1923 and 1973 interiors to see the difference in 100 and 50 years. Mr. Leland would be proud. Good review.
Not a EV kinda guy but good design and very nice cabin in true Cadillac style. Noise canceling tech comes from AKG, I assume? I have AKG headphones and it's awesome 👌 I do prefer this to its German competition. Great review thanks Miles 😊 👍🏻
I think one of the most brilliant things about this car is one of the most low tech things on it. The GRILL. Yes it is etched with lasers and backlit but at the end of the day its a plastic panel that covers that space on the front and its brilliant because it emulates a grill while being more than just a fake grille. The lights seem to give it a purpose other than just being there. It has taken me a long time to get past the no grill front of the Tesla Model 3 though it has grown on me. I just think something like this is preferable in a premium brand because a luxury car is about more than utility it is also an ornament, experience and symbol of success.
It's still about 5.5 hours to charge it from 20 to 80 percent. That is still very doable from my garage. My Kona takes about the same amount of time to do the same charge with my 40 amp at 7.3kwh set up.
Fantastic Review! Been watching your reviews since the 2014 Kia Sorrento. As others said, you make us feel as if we are there in the vehicle experiencing the sounds based on your driving senerios. Thanks for going over what most reviewers don't cover making us feel like we are part of the ride.
Awesome, i am neither an electric car or GM fan. But i love this car, whereas the Mustang E, i hate it. So one of of these will be in my future, Well Done Cadillac 👍
Best review yet! Nice job. I’ve owned Porsches, Audi’s, and VW’s. But now I focus on “Buy American” to keep HQ jobs in the US. I have a 2018 Continental … great car. But now I look forward to the delivery of my Lyriq!
Ride quality. Comfort. That's what I'm looking for in my next car. I couldn't be bothered by a 0-60mph in 4, 6 or 8s. 99% of the time you're driving the car from A to B, not doing green light sprints. I wonder if Cadillac brings this to Europe. Maybe with the lack of combustion engine, there are less regulations preventing this?
It's nice to see Cadillac trying to return to its true Roots as the standard of the world. This is a real winner right here I would buy this over any other Electric luxury vehicle.
Nice detailed review thanks quick question - Looking at your speedometer it showed 741 mi and 304 miles range when you departed. Just prior to ending the trip your range was down to 262 miles and the speedo showed 757 miles. So you only traveled 16 miles yet you lost 40 miles of range. That's horrible regardless of how you drive what elevation did you climb. Thanks
Excellent review. Seems to be a very nice car...at a reasonable price....but reliability will need to be proven as this is a new platform...for not Tesla fans seems it can become a candidate a valid option. Time will tell.
This is a very good Cadillac and I can tell you Cadillac has been putting out a whole bunch of stuff for well over a hundred years. So I see where they're coming from with this and besides that this is the first all electric car they're going to put out in 2023. And it won't be long now before this type of Cadillac not only becomes an electric car but soon it will have basically what Tesla has it's called self-driving capabilities. So basically for people who don't drive like me this type of car would be just perfect in self-driving mode. Because what that means is within the next 10 to 15 years nearly all electric vehicles in some cases will have self-driving capabilities. And that's what I like about that idea. All you have to do is just tell the car where to go and it will take you right to your destination no questions asked no hassles no anything. You just take it and go.
I would like to know how the AKG stereo performs relative to the competition in the sub $100k EV market. Is it better than the HK stereo in the BMW iX?
The driver’s-position, instrument cluster presentation is very attractive and cohesive. The centre consul floating was appealing. However, the face of the vehicle looks so cheap like a composition of plastic puzzle pieces. The rear end achieves design from ad hoc plastic moulded surround lights that manifest swoopieness. The glass sky light ceiling looked beautiful. Not too fab in Lost Vegas sunshine, or -30° Chicago winters. The back bench seat was so thin and insubstantial. Speakers in the head rest, convertibles ok, rather funky. I hope Cadillac succeeds. It eroded into a blunderous failure when GM gave up in 1980 on the sedan.
@@MilesPerHr Yeah but even in the beginning of your video when you started to show the front light show, you cut it off before it finished! Bad edit there, but overall outstanding review. My 500 hp is already on order and you pretty much Put to sleep any concerns or doubts I had. Thanks!
