Mom has a 2010 CRV with 150,000 miles. Basic maintenance, tires, brakes, oil and other fluid changes are literally the only things that have been done. She did have a minor issue with the radio which was easily replaced. But it is a 2010. No turbo, direct injection or CVT. Just Hondas tried and true 2.4. Wish they still made that engine.

I had 7 consecutive leased high end Accords, but the new Accord is 1" too long for my garage, so I made the switch to the Sport Touring CRV. Of course, I knew it would be slower 0-60 than my 2020 Accord Touring edition with the terrific 2L/10 AT powertrain. But the off the line torque in my CRV is excellent, and seems comparable in the first few hundred yards. I recently did my first full tilt pass on a 2 lane road the other night, and the CRV was more than up to the task. I'm sure it's a bit slower than the 2023 Touring Accord, which is also slower than the previous powertrain, but the performance on the CRV is a pleasant surprise...and I'm very close to the EPA numbers (even better than 40 on an urban cycle), while pure interstate is a little lower than EPA. All in all, it's the most refined Honda I've ever driven, and the seat height is perfect for my arthritic knees, unlike my beloved Accords of the past. I miss the HUD and the ventilated seats of my last Accord, but I'm digging the Bose sound system (also in the Accord Touring), superior AC interior thermostat sensitivity to solar heat, and incredible lack of significant body roll in this taller vehicle. Interior is delightful with great seats. Extra sound deadening exclusive to the Sport Touring edition is a major plus. ZERO buyers remorse...love it!

This is the best looking CR-V to date, but it’s ridiculous that for the price they charge for the top trim, there’s no ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, multicolor ambient lighting, & a bigger engine to have more performance. This needs the 2.0T from the previous gen Accord with a normal 10-speed automatic. I shouldn’t have to go all the way up to a Passport Elite or RDX A-Spec, Advance, or A-Spec + Advance package to get some of those features for thousands more 🤦🏽‍♂️🙄. And the limited color combination options are ridiculous. There’s no unique color interior for the top trim to get besides the basic black or gray/ white leather seats. There’s not enough creativity in the execution of this CR-V. It just looks like a bigger Tiguan with slightly different styling atp

I have a 2017 CRV Touring and like it very much. The only problem I've had is the display unit had to be replaced. My big gripe is the TPMS system and the lame excuse Honda used for that system. It will not indicate which tire is low, let alone the pressure. In addition, the driver has to calibrate (system screen) the pressure once you fill the tires. Our 2011 Chevy Equinox has the capability to give individual tire pressures. With all the high tech in this car they shorted that system big time. You might not think it's a big deal until it comes on while on a trip while it's raining. Now, you can't get a touring model without buying the Hybrid. In addition, Honda has done away with the spare tire and replaced it with a pump and a can of fix a flat. I've owned several Hondas, but this will be my last.😑

Not a fan. In fact I opted for a very low mileage 2020 for half the price, because I disliked the interior so much. Obviously, that is just a personal preference thing. Additionally, I average 34mpg combined without the hybrid system. It definitely looks nice on the outside.

With new vehicles becoming increasingly more expensive and therefore out of reach for more people, as well as efficiency concerns, why do manufacturers make vehicles increasingly larger? This seems counterintuitive.
@MartinGalway
@MartinGalway Год назад
They are unable to innovate, they're stuck producing cars that replace their previous cars and need servicing/maintenance. The only way to make a combustion engine car seem better is to make it bigger. Electric vehicles that have no emissions at all are taking over. This new CRV won't sell as well as the previous CRV. And the same thing will happen to the next CRV. Until Honda makes it battery-electric.

I wonder what John means when he says "perennial best-seller." The CRV is outsold by the world's fastest selling car, which is also a small crossover with 76cu.ft. storage. It's also CHEAPER THAN the top-trim CRV at $40,240 (after U.S. federal tax credit). I'm talking about the Tesla Model Y. Cheaper to buy, much cheaper to own (no oil changes or other Hybrid-ICE maintenance costs), all-American, much faster acceleration, and does not contribute to climate change - unlike this hybrid combustion engine car (and don't forget the other trims are NOT hybrid, they're pure gasoline) - which DOES CONTRIBUTE TO CLIMATE CHANGE. If you want to SPEND MORE MONEY - go ahead and buy the top-trim CRV. If you want to SAVE MONEY... buy the Model Y.

@MartinGalway

@@namvet1968 I've got a Model S that is nearly 10yrs old and has 269,000 miles on it currently. There is no scheduled maintenance. You can pay someone else to change tires, wiper blades/fluid & cabin air filter, or you can do it yourself. There are "repairs" when something breaks or wears out. With a high-mileage car like mine I have to be aware of the health of the steering & suspension. The brakes do not really wear out. (I am half-way through the second set, changed at 188,000 miles)

When Honda went CVT and Turbo on the CR-V in 2017 they lost us. We keep our cars longer than 10 years so longevity is the priority and while the fourth gen RAV 4 doesn't have as nice interior and feel as a 2017 CR-V it has a tried and true 6 speed automatic and EFI. You see while the CR-V appeals to the masses on looks, interior and drive these are the same types that have a never ending car payment and nothing saved for retirement or an emergency. I'd take a 2013 - 2017 RAV 4 over a CR-V CVT Turbo any day and put up with the less nice amenities. I guess we'll see how these CR-V's hold up past 200k for those who try to take them there.
